How to deal with solar energy while monitoring individual devices #39350

Feedback

During the night, I have some energy usage that is not tracked (because I don't have smart plugs for every single device out there).
During the day, this disappears, and the stats look off; it looks as if the solar production is not taken into account.
I tried adding the solar inverter as a "negative consumer", but then it complains that a negative value is not expected.

To improve the documentation, please clarify how the solar production is taken into account with the "individual device monitoring" feature.
I would expect one of the following two things:

  • Total energy consumption is calculated by combining energy meter with solar inverter production; solar production not shown explicitly in the chart.
  • Solar production is shown as a "negative consumer" in the same chart

Here is a screenshot:

The untracked energy goes negative as soon as the sun rises, while it had been relatively constant overnight.
