Just digging into the plugin, so far so good. Next week I want to dig into how it communicates its status to homekit.

I'm curious if these are on anyones radar...

Using "Valve" service to communicate cleaning cycle status.
Using "Filter Maintenance to track cleaning routine.
Using "Contact Sensor" service to communicate "ice bin full".
Using "Fan" service to communicate "defrosting".
Using "Accessory Runtime Information" with device's network heartbeat? to eliminate interval polling.
Using "Filter Maintenance" to track filter state - IDK if this can be linked to anything other than 'heatercooler' - The SmartHQ app is tracking filter life some how. It would be great if I could get a homekit indicator to check filter... using my config.json clock settings.

If anyone has experience here, please share.

Nice! I agree with being able to extend to other features! I was personally thinking along the lines of push notifications for ice completion etc. Admittedly I just got this ice maker and haven't had to worry about filter status, etc yet, but those are good points, and probably the next logical iteration.

I've owned several since the machine came out a few years ago. I've found keeping it clean keeps it quiet.

I've tuned my setup into a water station by our front door, added a water line that keeps it full of ice. Works really well. Recently added a water drop RO to the mix, added a flood sensor that turns everything off when a leak happens.

The unit is tucked away it's status isn't obvious and the SmartHQ app doesn't fit into my life, so having this device's state in Homekit is a big plus. We drink more water with this machine so it's part of our daily life.

I tried implementing FilterMaintenance flag today but it seems like there is an issue with it not showing up on the home app.

Yeah, it does pass through, you'll see it in apps like controlerforHome... the meta data is there, but right now homekit isn't displaying it. It's unclear though if it will produce a notification when a change is needed looking at the Homebridge and Homekit spec. Probably still and early implementation. Since the data is there I'm mapping it in for the LG ThinQ AC I'm also turning for my home.

Question - I have -0.2.0-beta.4 installed. I only see the "On/Off Switch" and the Light Slider for the Opal. I cleared the cache and restarted homebridge.

What should I see in the UI for 0.2.0-beta.14? The log seems to recognize features, but I don't see them showing up in Homekit automatically. Want to make sure I know how to reset and test this plugin.
