Spatial Lens

jchrisa edited this page May 6, 2021 · 1 revision

We live in a 3-dimensional world, so looking at problems from a 3D space view is natural to us. Many visual learners can translate abstract ideas into 3D representation of that idea.

Imagine a spatial lens as a floating camera where you can rotate and shift the focus on any part of the entity in question. You can also treat this lens as a point of view from other participants or actors in a situation. Through this lens, you can view from these primary views:

  • Aerial View - gives you top level view of the entity or problem
  • Ground Level View - see things from the bottom up
  • Side View - looking at the entity or problem from one side or another
  • Free Form - Freely rotating your lenses at different axis points
