I have tried the package expand-region recently, yet I have encountered an issue that it doesn't work when I am trying to mark region inside the tag. This happens in markdown-mode, thus I haven't tried web-mode or any other major-mode that related to markup/markdown languages.

I will have this issue opens so I don't forget about it when I'm tracking down the issue list. Thanks!
