Enable "Always Remux FLAC Audio Files" Server-Wide #14596

I have recently spun up my Jellyfin music server and it is working well except for Firefox users, by default they get the Playback Error when playing back FLAC files and the fix is to enable "Always Remux FLAC Audio Files" in their profile and I was wondering if there is a way to force enable this for all users past and future by enabling it server-wide?

Do your FLAC files by any chance have ID3-tags? |

Assuming you mean like the image below, then yeah, that is an album in Mp3tag on Windows.

Posting the answer to help others. So my Ministry of Sound - Anthems album had an ID3 tag which Edge/Chrome ignore BUT! Firefox doesn't being the stickler for standards it is. The fix was to use Mp3tag to remove the tags from all FLAC files and then undo the removal so that it reinserted them back into the FLAC files but with the correct FLAC formatted tag rather than the ID3 which is more MP3.
With this, I can turn off the Remux FLAC option and playback works just fine on Firefox through Jellyfin. Most importantly it serves as a reminder to review your audio files and their tags before adding them to the library. |
