Describe the bug
I have gnome with scale factor 1.25 on 2 monitors.
Rectangular selection preview of Ksnip is shifted left for width of first monitor. It shows 2nd (right) monitor on left monitor and white void space on left monitor. Full screen and current monitor capture are ok.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Install KSnip from github .deb on releases page
  • press "rectangular" on top panel or in ksnip window
  • full screen preview appears
  • screen in preview is shifted left
  • select rectangle
  • captured image matches preview, not screen contents in selected place

Expected behavior
It is possible to capture rectangular selections from left and from right monitor

Screenshots

Can't capture a screenshot of screenshot preview window.
I would have to take a picture with smartphone is it's really required.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

Additional context
Please note two monitor setup as shown on screenshot

I have a similar issue on Cinnamon (Mint 22 Wilma). Is there a solution to this? Or an alternative tool for Cinnamon or Gnome? I really like the post capture environment of ksnip.

Hi,
I also am using Linux Mint 22 (Cinnamon) + 3 monitors all set to 125% fractional scaling.
Big problems in capturing rectangular areas, but see this other my comment

Does installing version 1.8.0 helps ?

How do you install a previous version?

I'm facing the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04 with one HP Z32 (1st monitor, scale = 150%) and one Dell U2724D (2nd monitor, scale = 100%) connected through HP docking station; laptop monitor is turned off. When using Rectangular Area it moves the window from 2nd monitor to 1st and 2nd monitor is white.

Using my two BenQ monitors at home (connected through travel dock) works like a charm.
