How do I activate that pinning? I have installed flameshot but can't see any option to pin anything. Is this an already released feature? |
I don't have that option in my installation. I have installed the stable version from my OS Repo, I probably need latest or continuous. How did you install your version? |
openSUSE Got version 0.6.0 (the latest) |
Got it now. I'm using also openSUSE but 15.0 and that version has still the older flameshot version. I see it now. The stuff that we are missing is the frameless window and and always staying in the foreground. We could add a file menu option and/or toolbar button that opens the current screenshot (current tab) in a frameless dialog window and hides the main window. Would that work? |
Yeah, right. That's it. No frame and always in the foreground. ...although 0.6.0 is also a few days old. Flameshot doesn't seem to be very active any more either. |
This was implemented but it's currently on a separate branch and will be merged into master as soon as 1.7.2 is finished, hopefully in next couple of days. |
A feature I especially miss from Flameshot is the pinning. Sometimes you want to take a picture of something to use it on another desktop or activity without creating a screenshot to save.
Of course you could also put the edit window open somewhere, but pinning in Flameshot is much more comfortable: it is automatically in the foreground, takes up little space and disappears with a double click on it. Very handy.
