Mac users love homebrew
Would be great if there was a brew cask for ksnip so it's easy to install

Should be fairly simple to do.
Just need to add a definition to https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/tree/master/Casks

Complication ...
Might need to get the binary signed or however you prevent this Mac OS dialog
