When take-saving a screenshot using a hotkey, ksnip automatically opens itself, regardless of being minimized to tray or taskbar. There could be an option to keep ksnip hidden, just like Windows native service works, with flag + printscreen.

Should be doable. Also a good starting point for new developers.

Same problem with i3wm. Unable to hide ksnip's window.

@amitbha what do you mean with "unable to hide"? Ksnip shows up after screenshot was taken? Or some other behavior?

When taking screenshot with hotkey or mouse click, the window pop out first, then the selection tool shows.

OS: Manjaro 20.1 Mikah
WM: i3
Knip: v1.7.3

This is now implemented in latest 1.8.0. The Features is by default disabled and can be enabled via settings (ImageGrabber)

When uncheck Image Grabber - Show Main Window after capturing screenshot, after capturing by shortcut main window still shows.

I have quite the same issue as @amitbha. I'm using Manjaro Linux 21.1.2 Pahvo. and using i3 as windows manager.
The thing is even though the main windows is not shown after taking screenshot but the screenshot result is including the ksnip main window.

Below is the screenshot result:
ksnip_20220108-151743

At the time screenshot was taken there is only one windows which is my terminal.
