Language should be selected based on your system settings. Have you installed ksnip via snap? If yes, we have an issue there with loading translations.

i installed via: snap. I don’t know any other installation options yet.

Try "snap install ksnip"

Valid feature, thought it wouldn't have changed much in this case because the issue is that the snap package cannot find the translation files. Can you close this issue and open a new feature request for selecting a language?
