I closed my laptop lid at work. When I got home the monitor was on despite the lid being closed and was SUPER hot. I am unable to get my computer to sleep. I'm using KDE and I can even try to just click "sleep" from the power menu and it will come back up within 1 minute.
I did not have this issue with the previous 6.9.3 kernel. The fans are also running hot, so I'm going to roll back and do some testing. I'll update with the results.
Update
Both sleep and lid close events appear to be working correctly after I rolled back to Linux ll0 6.9.3-surface-2 #2. I've switched back and forth a couple of times between the kernels and there is something wrong with 6.10.3.
Custom Settings
I did have to add the below from the wiki to get the lig close events working correctly. It's been working great for the past year.
