default rcparams in use when a test is being run are tricky to know, which makes repro'ing sensitive test images difficult. Specifically, in order to observe #17304, I had to remember the existence of set_font_settings_for_testing, which is rather obscure. Ideally, the effects of set_font_settings_for_testing and set_reproducibility_for_testing would simply go into _classic_test_patch.mplstyle, but I haven't thought much about how this would affect non-baseline comparisons tests (I guess we could always apply the mplstyle in an autouse fixture) or third-party libraries that may be reusing parts of our test harness.
