Repeating the last replace in Micro

Micro doesn’t currently have a dedicated keybinding for “repeat last replace”
(like Vim’s :& or n after /…). Replace is implemented as a command, not
a repeatable motion.

Workarounds

1. Use the command line history

• Press CtrlE to open the command prompt.
• Press the up arrow to recall the last replace command you typed.
• Hit Enter to re-run it.

This is the simplest way to repeat the last replacement without retyping it.

2. Create a custom binding

You can define your own shortcut in ~/.config/micro/bindings.json that maps to
the replace command with arguments filled in. Example:

    "Alt-r": "command:replace foo bar"
}

This will always run replace foo bar when you press Alt-r.
You could create different bindings for the patterns you use frequently.

3. Use macros

Micro supports simple macros (CtrlK to record, CtrlJ to play). You can:

1. Record a macro that runs CtrlE replace … and Enter.
2. Replay it whenever you want to repeat that exact substitution.

TL;DR

• No built-in single key for “repeat last replace” yet.
• Use CtrlE + up arrow to quickly rerun the last replace.
• Or set up a custom binding / macro if you often need to repeat the same
  replacement.
