For all of you that are hit hard by a 13 years old bug, I have a nasty workaround:

location "/test2" {
	alias "/srv/www/test";
	add_header Cache-Control "max-age=50";
    # Nginx has a nasty bug: https://trac.nginx.org/nginx/ticket/97
    # So I try to escape root with an absurd amount of parent path, and go into MY root set with the above 'alias'
    try_files $uri $uri/ /../../../../../../../../../../../$document_root/index.html;
}

But it could be good to propose a real solution to https://trac.nginx.org/nginx/ticket/97
