From various other mentions in the docs and elsewhere, these dictionaries are meant to be part of the public API, but I can't find them explicitly documented in the Numpy reference manual. E.g. search for sctypes.

Having documentation would be useful both for knowing what they are and how to use them, and as reassurance that they're not going to go away with no warning.

numpy.sctypes seems to be moved to numpy.core.sctypes in 2.0. The release notes only mention they are removed from the name space but not their new place. Also see this PR that moved them. I'm guessing it's possible the move to core was mentioned in an earlier release, but it was never issued as a warning at runtime as far as I am aware.
