Description of issue

I have recently upgraded MacOS 11.7.10 Big Sur to 13.7.5 Ventura.

I had the legacy version nextcloud 3.8.1 installed:

% brew list --version                                          
nextcloud 3.8.1

Now I wanted to upgrade to the
But brew somehow thinks I have nextcloud 3.16.1 installed:

% brew upgrade --greedy nextcloud

I later tried reinstall, which worked:

  % brew reinstall --cask nextcloud

  ==> Installing Cask nextcloud

Thank you for posting this solution! None of the other issues I ran across mentioned "reinstall" but it worked for me.

I got into this state because iterm2 wasn't able to modify /Applications/ during a brew upgrade, and I clicked the "restart iTerm" button after enabling file access in the macOS popup. This interrupted the upgrade and left it in this bad state that I couldn't recover from using remove, --force, etc.
