I am a pro+ sub user, why I am still have a so called 'weekly rate limit'? This is totaly unacceptable for paied user, at least you should told me the detail information about new rule. |

I discovered something humorous: Even after being flagged for a rate limit, I could still send a request, and the task would perform some steps before indicating that the rate limit had been reached. Theoretically, this should be considered a failed request and therefore shouldn't count as a premium request. But it still counted as a premium request! |

To the GitHub Copilot Team, I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with your recent restrictions. Are you suggesting that a legitimate individual user running Copilot via remote control between remote and local environments is somehow "violating" your terms? This is an incredibly overbearing and unreasonable policy. As a paying subscriber, I expect the service to be available across my development environments, whether I am working locally or accessing my setup remotely. Restricting usage based on the method of access—especially when the intent is legitimate personal development—is a blatant disregard for user experience and a breach of the trust we place in a professional tool. Your current approach feels less like "managing service quality" and more like a forced restriction of a service I have already paid for. I demand a clear explanation for these "intelligence throttling" and access-limiting behaviors. |

I am also rate limited for 3 days :D FYI, I am on Pro+ and have only hit 14.0% usage FOR THE MONTH so far. Completely unbelieveable! I am not a heavy user at all.

I think this is a billing bug in GitHub Copilot. The exported report clearly shows models that consumed requests, but their quantities are all zero, and I never actually used these models.

Yupp, same here, looks like a major issue at GitHub rn, the billing is completely messed up and I'm also having a 3 day complete lockout from using Copilot due to apparently hitting my weekly rate limit... |

The same thing happened to me. I only used 37% of my premium requests (PR) and they locked me out until Monday the 20th. If this is a usage limit, then consume more PR, or charge me extra, but don’t restrict me. I’m not using CC, Codex or Cursor. |

I was blocked until 00:00 today, it's now 8:44 AM. I sent a /plan command to Opus 4.7, it created the plan, and immediately afterwards I received another message saying I've reached my weekly limit and can only use it again today at 8:59 PM, but the 'auto' selection is working. Note: I have the Pro+ plan. |

I got the 48hr rate limiting yesterday... Switching to Auto, I've not been limited since, and it's opting for GPT 5.4...if I choose GPT 5.4 instead of auto, I get the rate limit message again. However, I've still got 75 premium requests on my Pro+ 
yet I'm being billed for over usage

Pro+ Subscriber / making small projects nothing major - games and web tech main models used gpt 5.4 / sometimes Claude. This is the second time this is happening not the first. Got weekly rate limited until 4/19/26 at 7 pm @ 35% of my quota for the month they "fixed" a bug last time. its obviously broken - hopefully it doesn't extend like im seeing other people the clock doesn't even matter its still limited after |

I’m a Pro+ subscriber My main models are GPT-5.4 and sometimes Claude. This is the second time this has happened, not the first. I got the message: “You’ve reached your weekly rate limit. Please upgrade your plan or wait for your limit to reset on April 20, 2026 at 2:00 AM.” The issue is that I’ve only used 25% of my monthly quota, so this clearly doesn’t make sense. |

Same issue here. Pro+ sub and after 5 days of use and 350/1500 premium credits used - limited for 2 days. I can't even use the free models! And no, I won't be using "Auto" because I know exactly which agent i need to use for which job, and I have no intention of "rolling the dice" every time in the hopes i get the one I need. Especially since Auto is designed to save bandwith, not to help the user select the best agent for the job. This has been a very disappointing purchase so far... I really hope they fix this mess ASAP. |

They can't do anything about it, its an openAI thing, new policies, we are entering new era of costs and usage, thats what I think persoanlly. my small opinion: this is honestly the worst manner to treat a cliint regardless the amount of money they are paying, regardless whom to blame or the reason. |

your wrong its broken its not the first time this has happened I paid for the compute already as did everyone else this is essentially the same exact thing as saying I paid for a full tank of gas and cant leave the driveway and it surmounts to customer fraud with someone as big as github copilot they are saving multiple millions of dollars per day of our money with everyone rate limited and stuck not able to use anything not even the discounted models |
