Salt 3006.16 with python 3.12 fails in AIX during testing. Minion fails to connect to the master. The error message is as follows

[DEBUG   ] Master public key not found
[ERROR   ] Minion unable to successfully connect to a Salt Master.

Could anyone please let me know if this version of salt (3006.16) support python 3.12?
If it does, any suggestions what could possibly be the issue here?
FYI, salt 3007.8(STS) version works with python 3.12

If I can pry a little bit, how are you installing salt 3006.16 on AIX?

We have been using the AIX Toolbox for Open Source repo to install minions on our AIX 7.3 hosts but unfortunately it's been stuck on version 3006.2 for over a year :(

I am building 3006.16 version of salt with python 3.12 for AIX Toolbox. But we are facing this issue during testing.

Oh awesome, that would be fantastic to get this newer version in the Toolbox!

So I'm no authority but it looks like Python 3.11 support was somewhat recently to the master branch, and effort is underway to bump that higher.

I see on linux both versions of 3006.16 and 3007.8 are bundled with /opt/saltstack/salt/bin/python3 version 3.10.18 - would you be able to install and try with that version?

Your installed Tornado is also a lot higher than the version the salt team bundled - that seems to have high potential for communication issues.

RE: version 3007.8 working with python 3.12 - I suppose that makes sense, I think the 3007 STS branch gets more breaking changes than 3006, so maybe the main python3.11+ compatibility hurdles have already been addressed there.
