'image file not readable' warning but build looks fine #1429

@larsoner , just in case you have a quick answer, have you noticed warnings like:
/home/circleci/project/doc/auto_examples/release_highlights/plot_release_highlights_0_24_0.rst:65: WARNING: image file not readable: auto_examples/model_selection/images/sphx_glr_plot_successive_halving_iterations_001.png
/home/circleci/project/doc/auto_examples/release_highlights/plot_release_highlights_0_24_0.rst:112: WARNING: image file not readable: auto_examples/ensemble/images/sphx_glr_plot_gradient_boosting_categorical_001.png
but the documentation looks fine otherwise?
This has been noted in the pydata-sphinx docs as well.
