I am complete novice to sphinx /sphinx gallery - and a bit of a computer idiot, too.
A friend set up a website for me using sphinx gallery.
I run mechanical simulations in python, which I animate with matplotlib.
The thumbnails always show 'something', some plot of my simulation, maybe the energies of the system. but not a gif of the animation.

What would be the simplest way to get the gif in the thumbnail?
