In 4.0, the interactive shell mode is now the default instead of non-interactive. It would be great to highlight that as a breaking change in the v4 migration guide. There are details about the shell modes, but it's not immediately clear the breaking change compared to 3.4.

I'm not sure if the wiki content is tracked in Git. If it is, I'm available to open a PR for this.
