Closing this one too because it looks like an internal thing and most developers shouldn't care about this.

That's not internal at all. That's useful when one wants to use more than one mailer in their apps.

Yes ... but the way I understand it is: Symfony defines a name for the built-in transports ... so you see those names for example in the webprofilerbundle. But, when we document #12259, we'll show how you name each mailer ... but that doesn't have any consequence in the app. Each mailer must have a unique name in the app ... but that's it.

So, if we document #12259 ... this issue is no longer needed I think. Meanwhile I'm reopening so others can express their opinions. Thanks!
