The realtime_reporter introduced in #795 produces the pre-run event an XML structure which is not that simple parse. Adding an additional items tag to indicate a list of suites or tests, should simplify the consumption in the SQL Developer extension.
This change should be introduced before releasing utPLSQL v3.1.4.
