There are many wasted frames that don't get seen by my measely 60hz monitor. It might not seem like a big difference but at a cognitive point of view I believe it has great potential in making gameplay much smoother than it is. In 60fps every frame is a still image, and with two frames, our brains can comprehend a speed of how fast things are moving, meaning that it is effectively just 30 "velocity frames" per second. but if we can interpolate frames in real time, then every frame would say something about the speed of things every frame, giving us a kind of "enhanced perception" which is very helpful in gameplay. There are also many minecraft youtube videos where people record at much higher framerates than they see with their monitors, and by frame blending these additional frames, it creates a "motionblur" effect and the illusion of smoothness. I would like to make this myself someday but I am way behind in my graphics programming skills so I'm begging someone can take this idea and make it real. I also found this forum thread that expands a bit on this idea if you don't quite understand what I mean by real time frame blending you can check it out: https://reshade.me/forum/shader-presentation/4335-experimental-high-framerate-frame-blending The person on the forum also made a prototype so if you also want to make it but don't know how to implement it I guess you can reference it maybe idk
