these are the messages i sent to my private discord server after spending months of deliberating on what i would do if discord were to ever disappear. discord is easily the single social app that's had the biggest impact on me as a person, and i have the fact that creating a server on it feels so much like crafting home to thank for that.
Got TESSERA working in Zarr and the browser, and a preprint of package management a la carte pushed out
As the Atmosphere grows beyond Bluesky, assuming every user has a Bluesky profile won't hold up. A base profile sounds like the fix, but the UX gets weird fast. Lexicon generics — a pattern built from existing ATProto concepts — could make profile-type records discoverable and translatable across apps without flattening them into a single record.
It is a privilege to be tired from work you once begged the universe for, and to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. It is also a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose, and to outgrow things you used to settle for. To be tired from having done something you once dreamt of doing is a beautiful blessing.

February closes with temperatures remaining above the seasonal average, while the opening days of March are expected to turn colder. Daytime readings during the coming week should reach into the twenties with generally light winds. In other words, what is considered below normal for March will feel milder than much of February. Winter, however, shows no sign of being finished. The weather records indicate that March commonly brings renewed snowfall, and I expect that pattern will hold this year. There is already a hint of a storm in the air, arriving in time for the Minnesota Game and Fish Department’s annual snowshoe trek.
