I’m looking to get more engaged in the DNS space again and also to start taking my own privacy on the internet and at home a little bit more seriously. I’ve never been one of those people that believes, “well if I’m not doing anything wrong I don’t care if people are spying.” I do genuinely care that people spy and I generally don’t enjoy the notion that my data is aggregated and analyzed as part of some mega-data-set to be bought and sold as part of neural net training model for our future robot overlords.

eBPF... the Hot Fuss

It’s seems impossible to be working in software and not be at least tangentially aware of eBPF. It’s true, BPF is fundamentally changing how we are building applications and interacting with the linux kernel. The space and time seem ripe for innovation and exploration as the ecosystem expands. For at least a year (and unfortunately probably longer) I’ve had BPF exploration at the top of my hack and learn list but I’ve either had number of false starts or have failed to produce anything substantial, typically due to not setting clear direction.

Colonial Political Ideology

Many moons ago, I was deeply interested in the origins of the American political expiriment. More specifically, the undercurrents guiding and influencing the American colonists break from the imperial grip of England and the resulting passion for the political expirment that wold become the United States of America.

Given the historical importance of our current political culture, the impeachment trial, and the deep divides between party lines which seem insurmountable, it felt proper to dig up this paper.

Overview

This site is meant to be a central place for me to collect thoughts and to have a place to tinker. After many iterations on different frameworks and tools, I’ve landed on using Hugo and the wealth of themes which exist in their ecosystem. This has reduced to barrier to entry where I split hairs over CSS things and drive myself insane on making the site look nice.
