New Substack for the terrific writer Michael Marshall Smith. In a roundabout way, Maps owes its existence to his short stories, as many years ago they're what started me writing in the first place.
This is always a delightful read, sometimes on things which intersect with the eerie, sometimes not, but beautifully written and always worth the time regardless.
Some Substacks are on a theme, some are just plain interesting. This is from the eponymous folk duo whose music is rooted in tradition but explores 'the wyrd and the eerie of the landscape.' How could anyone who reads Maps not like that? The newsletter though isn't just about their music, but wanders through the strange and the interesting. Am really looking forward to reading more.
