Thank you! It seems the ongoing 3.35 version is reimplementing the auto-upload logic, so this is promising. It is still in RC stage, but hopefully will be stable soon.

I recently came across https://vert.sh/ which is a we app and frontend for ffmpeg and imagemagick but all the processing is happening locally on your device (except videos I think).

This is a good precision to be aware of.

It is still an important function because in some places law enforcement may be legally authorized to compel a user to unlock their phone using biometrics, but of course if you disable biometrics, there are less options to force you to enter your passphrase/password etc.

I have been using it for about a year. There is zero advertisement anywhere. No sponsored posts. Just pure search. And they give you quite some good tools to derank or delist websites for you to define your own quality of search results, it’s very effective. They also go the extra mile of de-ranking websites with many trackers as that apparently correlates with SEO which normally doesn’t track with result quality. It’s a very refreshing take on the web. I love it :)

Edit: they also have an extension which allows you to search while being logged out using tokens which improves privacy, in case you want to go the extra mile.

Desktop: Every single time I’m don’t with it. For the moment. At most I might leave it on if I have to do something for an hour or two and then come back to it. At the end of the night it is always off. Laptop: sleep, always. Occasional restarts for Linux kernels updates.

I salute the effort, but it would really drive the point home if you also tracked changes to the settings available as well, as in settings disappearing and new settings appearing. The default values for those new settings is also crucial, and finding out about a setting no longer being available could also be useful.
