So, to the Andrew Tate types, which nuzzling wolf is the alpha, again?

Canada@lemmy.ca•When will America realize that this is not a joke. They'll be laughing right up to the goosestepping.
41·21 小时前If you listen to those with no skin in the game, the answer is easy, we’re just lazy, see? What sucks is that this problem is in the final chapters of the story, but many of us who want to do more are fighting the complacent populations of previous and current generations’ inaction. We didn’t make the mess alone, but now it’s all on us to fix it.
To those with that attitude toward the American population, doing what they can to push back, they can go ahead and eat my whole ass. To those of you doing what you can, while balancing your very survival, keep pushing and ignore the fuckers trying to shame you. Every act of resistance, no matter how small, furthers your cause. We need to remember this, always.

21·21 小时前Thank you. Really tired of the whole ‘do something’ when the very system, propaganda machine, and half the population is conditioned to fight their neighbors because of lies about who those neighbors are or what those neighbors believe. We have a population that will attempt a coup over a lie no one can prove with evidence, but support the side lying to them about it all when they’re told to look the other way about this regimes many crimes.
The armchair warriors around the world are tired of the inaction from Americans? Try living here and needing to fight against the fascism while half the country tries to stop you to own the libs. It’s fucking exhausting. I’ve lost friends and family to their bullshit excuses of essentially if they’re not doing anything wrong, then they have nothing to worry about. We’re fucking pissed, too, but short of calling, writing, voting, protesting, and trying to engage and help our communities, what should we do?
Really appreciate all that you do to make this a great place to waste time! Love the stats. Very cool!

281·7 天前GoG was the first game platform to release a fully functional, clean, and well rounded experience, enough to get me to send them an unprompted, positive feedback to their devs. I really digged their user-centric approach and feature set. I am hopefully optimistic that their services remain at or better than current. However, it is 2025 (almost 2026) so I’m expecting another shoe to fall, even if all parties have a history of being solid players.
All sounds plausible to me!

Wait, it was only jury selection and he started doing more than just asking potential jurors for info about themselves? If so, wow! I have never been selected for jury duty but have been through selection a few times (pretty sure I have the male version of resting bitch face). Even I know that the selection process is just to weed out jurors who may not be favorable to one or both sides.
Last time I was on a jury selection, the defendant decided to represent himself in a child pornography charge. He seemed a little slimy and made some blunders during the process, but did alright otherwise. At some point, though, they moved us into the hallway at some point and all you hear is raised voices as the judge was in there yelling at the defendant and/or prosecutor. Pretty sure the trial never went forward and somehow ended in a mistrial. I was just happy to get out or work and make about $30 to do so!
Shit’s weird!

This is the same tired argument all the boomers use to justify pulling up the ladder behind them on everything from housing to school. Shit in the 60s were far from great, but compare pictures of police then to now, sprinkle in a dash of internet and massive surveillance, and rip out any safety net that could have existed to help you weather the strike. Tell me THEN how you’d be out there risking it all on the chance you might have support. Hell, just thinking back to that one pic of Bernie Sanders being arrested for protesting in the 60s: cops wore uniforms with a helmet and the worst they had were dogs and fire hoses.
tRump knows he can’t cancel the elections because of a war. We’ve had elections during war times. What they are banking on is Martial Law for civil unrest caused by their actions. It’s why the keep ratcheting up the pressure. A general strike would be great, but a handful trying, without support, is gonna be a huge waste of those people’s time and a death sentence to their potential future.
Propaganda is what they do. This is what the media has shown you all; that Americans are doing nothing and have rolled over for this regime. You won’t see political actions by the masses the same way as the Civil Rights Movement. The state has spent the last 60-80 years dismantling the mechanisms to allow it. Those that can are doing whatever they can to fight a system they are chained to. I don’t blame those who can’t sacrifice it all at this point. Those of us that can afford it, are donating to food banks and community support groups. My family spent more on donations last year than gifts, for instance.
You want proof things are hard for citizens here? Wait till the holiday retail numbers come out. Either the upper-middle class (now just middle-class) saved them from recession indicators or the real economic hardships are about to rear their ugly heads!
My point is, don’t believe what you see in media. Believe what you see at protests, retail spending numbers, and first-hand reports from people here. The kegs are primed. This shit is gonna pop off if/when tRump and the Republicans try to alter the election results. They are incompetent as fuck and do stupid shit all the time. They will fuck up and be obvious in their attempts.
