Twanna always shares a behind-the-scenes look at her life, work, travels, thoughts, and news. Even though we're friends IRL, I still learn a lot about what she's been up to along with topics like reproductive rights and sexual freedom. If you're interested in the ex-pat life, culture, travel, and social justice, this is a great newsletter to check out!
Nobody has more knowledge of sexual culture than Susie Bright. She shares her highlight reels, history, culture, writing, food, snapshots of her life, publishing insights and so much more. A must-read for anyone who wants to see our culture become more sexually free and accepting.
If you read memoir and essays, you should subscribe to Memoir Monday. I always find essays and authors I wouldn't have come across otherwise, plus fascinating interviews that go far beyond the surface level. For those who love learning about what other people's experiences of this bizarre and amazing thing called life are, Memoir Monday is a refreshingly varied and fascinating read.
The Spread has quickly become a newsletter I set aside time to read, and read all the fascinating links they curate. It's like the best of a quirky, feminist, fun, fashion- and culture-minded magazine in email form. I love their deep dives and hot takes and always feel more informed (and sometimes fascinated and sometimes infuriated by that information) after reading The Spread.
Holly Whitaker doesn't just post the first thing she thinks of and hit send. Every newsletter is a thorough look at her life, what she's thinking, reading, and doing, insights into alcohol-free news and culture, and so many fascinating rabbit holes. She writes about her highs and lows and struggles and process of making life decisions in a raw and honest and open way.
I don't have a podcast (yet) but I'm such a fan of Courtney's other podcast that I started listening to Podcast Bestie. She's such a good host that I also love listening to this even though it's not currently applicable to my life. Podcast Bestie makes me want to start a podcast, and I've found much of her advice about marketing applies outside the podcast world too.
