Open Source MATLAB Data Visualization Software

The General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT) is an open-source tool for space mission design and navigation. GMAT is developed by a team of NASA, private industry, and public and private contributors. The GMAT development team is pleased to announce the release of GMAT version R2025a. OpenFace is an advanced facial behavior analysis toolkit intended for computer vision and machine learning researchers, those in the affective computing community, and those who are simply interested in creating interactive applications based on facial behavior analysis. The OpenFace toolkit is capable of performing several complex facial analysis tasks, including facial landmark detection, eye-gaze estimation, head pose estimation and facial action unit recognition. OpenFace is able to deliver state-of-the-art results in all of these mentioned tasks. OpenFace is available for Windows, Ubuntu and macOS installations. It is capable of real-time performance and does not need to run on any specialist hardware, a simple webcam will suffice.

LabPlot is a FREE, open source and cross-platform Data Visualization and Analysis software accessible to everyone.

TIGRE is an open-source toolbox for fast and accurate 3D tomographic reconstruction for any geometry. Its focus is on iterative algorithms for improved image quality that have all been optimized to run on GPUs (including multi-GPUs) for improved speed. It combines the higher-level abstraction of MATLAB or Python with the performance of CUDA at a lower level in order to make it both fast and easy to use. TIGRE is free to download and distribute: use it, modify it, add to it, and share it. Our aim is to provide a wide range of easy-to-use algorithms for the tomographic community "off the shelf". We would like to build a stronger bridge between algorithm developers and imaging researchers/clinicians by encouraging and supporting contributions from both sides to TIGRE.

JOELib/JOELib2 is a cheminformatics library which supports SMARTS substructure search, descriptor calculation, processing/filtering pipes, conversion of file formats, 100% pure Java, and interfaces to external programs (e.g. Ghemical) are available.

Reconstruction and Visualization from Multiple Sections (ReViMS), an open-source, user-friendly software for automatically estimating volume and several other features of 3D multicellular aggregates (i.e., cancer spheroid, zebrafish, fruit fly). ReViMS requires a z-stack of 2D binary masks, obtained by segmenting a sequence of fluorescent images acquired by scanning the aggregate along the z axis, using a confocal or a light-sheet fluorescent microscope. It provides a number of tools for: (a) segmenting z-stacks of fluorescence images; (b) reconstructing the 3D surface of the aggregates and estimating several features (including the volume). ReViMS is written in MATLAB (The MathWorks, Inc., Massachusetts, USA). Orbit Wizard is an educational open source tool developed in Matlab GUIDE for the design and visualization of geocentric orbits. The current version is in an early phase of development. Qi is a collection of MATLAB tools for the quantitative analysis of flow field images. Our Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) tool, prana, implements a Robust Phase Correlation kernel for PIV analysis, and now includes Particle Tracking Velocimetry and sizing tools. Tools for pressure calculation, proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), and 3d imaging are under development.

DDMaker perform local density analysis and generates pseudocolor maps of the spatial distribution of imaged cellular structures in 2D images, starting from either RGB color, grey level or binary images. DDMaker local density analysis permit to selectively denoise the signal, visualize and quantify its distribution and threshold the image basing on local density.

NF2FF is a MATLAB script, which implements a near field to far field transformation for near field antenna measurement setups.

Reconstruction and Visualization from a Single Projection (ReViSP) tool: a 3D volume rendering method we developed to reconstruct the 3D shape of multicellular spheroids, besides estimating the volume by counting the voxels (3D pixels) fully included in the 3D surface. ReViSP is written in MATLAB (The MathWorks, Inc., Massachusetts, USA) and the source code is freely provided.
