- Plus/minus (+/-)
- i. The plus/minus statistic is a way of measuring a player's defensive
contribution to the team. It is based on the following - if a player
is on the ice when an even-strength or short-handed goal is scored for his
team then 1 is added to his +/- statistic, if a player is on the ice when an
even-strength or short-handed goal is conceded by his team then 1 is taken
away from his +/- statistic. Power-play goals, for or against, are not
included in the plus/minus statistic. Penalty shots do not apply with regard
to +/-.
ii. Theo Fleury

on 10th February 1993.

- Plzen (ZKZ Plzen)
- Plzen, Czechoslovakia. Founded in 1929 as SK Viktoria Plzen. Other names of the club :
1948-49 - Sokol Plzen IV, 1949-52 - ZSJ Skodovy Zvody, 1952-53 - ZSJ Leninovy Zvody,
1953-65 - Spartak (ZVIL), 1965-93 - Skoda Plzen and 1993-95 - Interconex Plzen. From 1995
it's named ZKZ Plzen (HC Keramika Plzen). The team has played in the Elite league 1951-66,
1969-71, 1972-78 and 1979-98. Skoda Plzen's last demotion in 1978 was unusual. They tied
with Dukla Trencin for least points in the league and had exactly the same score over the
four games between the teams during the season (5-2, 3-1, 2-3, 3-7 = 13-13), so a fifth
and deciding game had to be played on neutral ice (in Brno). The game ended in a 1-1 tie
even after three 5 minute periods of overtime. Penalty shots had to be taken and after 16
shots the result was 3-2 to Trencin. Plzen's Zdenek Schejbal took the 17th penalty shot
and missed. The game took 3 hours and 44 minutes to complete and was the longest game in
Czechoslovakian league history. Most prominent Skoda Plzen players : Jiri Neubauer, Bohuslav
Ebermann, Pavel Huml, Petr
Vrabec, Milan Kajkl, Vladimir
Bednr, Frantisek Cern, Jaroslav Spacek and Tomas
Jelinek.
Home ice : Arena capacity: 10,500 (opened 11th
February 1950) Plzen are to move to a newly built arena.
