## Sisense Reviews
 ### 1. Customizable Dashboards, but Data Freshness Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Product Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I use Sisense for displaying complex data analysis on our platform. I like the drag-and-drop feature for creating dashboards, which can range from very simple to very complex, allowing me to focus on the data rather than coding. The customizability is a major plus for me, especially being able to use SQL to model the data and tailor the dashboard UI. Sisense supports various widget types, making it easy to theme dashboards and display data intuitively.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

At this point, we are a cloud customer and the timing we need to observe of the ETL leaves our data out of date almost as fast as we can get it in there due to the size of our clusters, we can only build so much at a time without overwhelming the system or incurring much more cost.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to display complex data analysis with customizable dashboards and SQL-type queries, allowing me to focus on the data instead of coding the dashboard. The dashboard UI is flexible with various widget types, making data intuitive.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Thank you for your feedback. Your points are valid, part of the reason Sisense focuses so much on our cloud solution is because it's easier for us to monitor and maintain performance for our customers. We recognize that DevOps resources are not readily available for all organizations and not an investment every customer wants to make. If managing the server is not something your organization wants to take on then cloud is the right solution for you. Please contact your CSM so we can discuss alleviating this pain for your organization!

 ### 2. Empowers Data-Driven Solutions with Customizable Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul V N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense keeps testing the boundaries. It's a dev space for developers, almost like a sandbox, giving a lot of control unlike other BI tools. I specifically like all its integration features and I'm a big fan of the Compose SDK, which allows breaking out of standard designs for dashboards and widgets, giving full control of the look and feel of a brand. Sisense enables clients to combine and mesh different data easily with ElastiCubes and offers multiple types of embedding features, making the integration seamless and creating a modern look for end users. Since it's in the cloud, the initial setup was very simple.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I definitely think dashboard sharing or code dashboard ownership gets a little wonky, a little weird. I also find that the integration and the Python integration can be a little difficult if you're just starting to use it. The documentation on the website itself could also be improved.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to help my clients solve business problems with their data. It allows them to combine and mesh different data using ElastiCubes and offers embedding features for seamless integration into their platforms, creating a modern look for end users.

 ### 3. User-Friendly and Functional, Needs More Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sonu . | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is a very good tool and really user-friendly. It's simple and easy to use, which makes the clients happy. Designing logical data models and dashboards is easy with Sisense, and it allows us to implement whatever the client asks. It's really helpful in improving user feedback and meeting client requirements. The Sisense support team was also very helpful in setting everything up smoothly. The tool also helps us to look into the data in a more clear way.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes Sisense is a bit slow and some functionalities, like some widgets, get blocked. For example, the scatter map doesn't always work as needed, and the date filter can be problematic. Also, we want more functionalities similar to other BI tools to get more insights from the data.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps us create dashboards for finance clients, tailored to their needs like finance segmentation and donor categories, enabling them to see data more clearly. It allows digging deeper into data, fulfilling user-specific requirements effectively.

 ### 4. Straightforward UI, Seamless Integrations, and Helpful Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darragh M. | Software Implementation Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The UI/UX is straightforward and easy to use, both for building dashboards and for creating or modifying Elastic Cubes. Integrations have worked seamlessly for our organisation. Support is readily available, and there’s also a solid amount of documentation online when we need it.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Performance is the only real gripe I have with Sisense. Cube builds don’t perform well when they’re handling heavy data loads.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to build custom reports in a timely manner using the data we capture in our system.

 ### 5. Intuitive BI with AI fearures

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan T. | R&D Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is easy to be used by non-technical users. The dashboard design is really user-friendly and intuitive. I also like the AI features they're introducing. I like the scalability in Kubernetes deployment. The initial setup of Sisense was really simple. The documentation was really rich and accurate, and the startup time was really short.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I don't like that the Windows version is no longer evolving. We have customers that are not able to switch to Linux and Kubernetes, so they have limited features.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our customers visualize and analyze contact center data. It's user-friendly for non-technical users and offers intuitive dashboard design. I appreciate the AI features and scalability in Kubernetes deployment.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Hi Alan, thank you for the review! I would love to see you around our community. The community offers a ton of resources and is where we encourage our customers to interact together. :)

 ### 6. Powerful Data Manipulation with Easy Navigation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominic W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like Sisense's ability to manipulate complex data and visualize it in a clear way. It is useful to have the option to change the type of join I use between custom tables, like using left join, right join, or outer join when linking tables together. I also appreciate that the dashboard side is very easy to navigate. Additionally, the initial setup of Sisense was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Ease of navigation within the Elasticube has been disappointing. There's a bug where, after editing a table, clicking elsewhere in the cube causes the table I just edited to move to that location. This results in some unwanted joins being made.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to manipulate complex data and visualize it clearly, which helps me in data analysis and dashboard building.

 ### 7. Seamless White-Label Embedded Analytics That Scales with Us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliot M. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

We've been using Sisense for a few years now to embed analytics directly into our platform and the experience has been really positive. The ability to white-label dashboards and integrate them into our own product via the Compose SDK means our customers get a seamless analytics experience that feels native to what we've built. The flexibility to work with both live connections and ElastiCube models has been really valuable as our data architecture has evolved. The AI features like natural language querying are something our users genuinely get excited about. It's a platform that has scaled well with us and the support team has been responsive whenever we've needed them.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Like any complex platform, there is a learning curve when you first get started, particularly around data modelling and the initial setup of embedded environments. Some of the more advanced configurations can take time to get right, and it's worth investing in onboarding properly to get the most out of it early on. Documentation has improved a lot over the years, but occasionally you need to dig a little deeper or lean on support for more niche use cases. These are fairly minor points for a platform of this depth and they haven't taken away from the overall experience.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Sisense solves for us is the ability to deliver analytics directly inside our product without having to build and maintain our own BI layer from scratch. Before Sisense, every new report or dashboard required significant engineering time, which slowed down our product roadmap and created ongoing technical debt. Sisense has taken that burden away entirely. Our customers now get a seamless, white-labelled analytics experience inside our platform, and our engineering team can focus on what they do best. The scalability has also been a huge benefit, as our user base has grown, Sisense has grown with us. The addition of AI features like natural language querying has been a bonus, making data more accessible to our less technical users and genuinely adding value to our product offering.

 ### 8. Intuitive Interface and Flexible Integration Elevate Our Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I love the polished and intuitive user interface of Sisense. The integration capabilities are impressive, ranging from non-embedded options to iframes and an SDK that we can leverage in our application. The 'compose SDK' is well documented and provides easy-to-follow examples for integrating within a React application. It's great that we can build Sisense into our product and offer useful information directly through the app. The transition from Exago to Sisense was pretty easy, and having a Jasper Reports plugin for legacy reports that need to be pixel-perfect is a great asset.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The elasticache feature is probably our least used feature because of the way our databases need to be queried and cross database schemas joined together. It isn't supported in the elasticube. We tried to use the build for RedShift that leverages elasticube, but we eventually stopped using it altogether. Another area for improvement would be with the Git integration. Initially, it seemed like what we needed, but our engineers decided it does not fit our needs. It seems more geared towards people with a staging Sisense deployment and a production, whereas we only have one.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to combine multiple multi-tenant databases, enabling customers to query and build dashboards with data across their business.

 ### 9. Powerful Data Combination and Manipulation, in a Polished Package

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Caching data using Elasticubes gives the ability to stack multiple data and columns on top of each other, allowing for complex custom data pulling from many different areas than software directly querying your data. Being able to connect to many different sources helps bring data together. Our customers really like the look and feel of Sisense.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

While the platform is generally stable and free of major bugs, more minor bugs do crop up with release versions and may go unresolved for multiple releases.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our customers visualise the data we collect for them. It's flexability and customisability always allows us to meet the clients needs & expectations.

 ### 10. Great for Dashboarding, Needs Better M2M Join Handling

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hina P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I think Sisense is a good tool for modeling and dashboarding. It helps with automated reporting, which is really convenient. I particularly value the Sisense ElastiCube method as well. It's important for my team as it helps us get data and modify it based on our needs. Additionally, the Sisense team is very helpful, making the initial setup process smooth and without much issue.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Many-to-many joins cause issues all the time, but the development team helps me with that.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense is a good tool for modeling and dashboarding. It helps with automated reporting and allows my team to modify data based on our needs.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Sisense valuable for your company's dashboards and tracking KPIs across different teams. Our support team is committed to providing exceptional service, and we appreciate your feedback on the robust data modeling capabilities and integration with other software.

I would love it if you could share these details in our Product Feedback Forum- this is reviewed daily, and we have a ton of examples that have been taken to the roadmap and added!

 ### 11. Simple Data Modeling and Flexible Dashboards with Powerful Performance Control

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like the simple data modeling, and I really appreciate the clear way it distinguishes between live and cubed models. The Dashboards have tons of visualization options and you can even use custom plugins. You have full control over dashboard performance with live and cube models.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I think the AI features still leave a bit to be desired. I’d really like the AI to do more to help with modeling and with creating dashboards, since that’s where it would be most useful for me.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our customers answer questions in seconds, questions that would otherwise take hours to resolve if they had to dig through the raw data themselves.

 ### 12. Easy and Flexible for Advanced Data Analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fred . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is easy to use and flexible, making it valuable for both everyday data analysis and more advanced tasks. I find that the cube feature makes everything easy to visualize and keep track of, and using custom columns simplifies the process further. I also appreciate how the initial setup of Sisense was easy enough.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes the UI in the cube is buggy and the dashboards can be slow.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense for data analysis, solving data problems with its easy and flexible interface, especially helpful for advanced analysis. The cube feature makes visualization easy, while custom columns aid in tracking.

 ### 13. Sisense’s Customization Flexibility Makes It Easy to Fit Our Needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Flexibility is the big win here. Like most analytics platforms, it isn’t going to do everything we need right out of the box. Sisense gives us the ability to customize just about everything, which makes it much easier to shape the product around what we need.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Not really a dislike but I think they could provide additional, detailed examples of some of the more complex customizations like creating your own widgets.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the level of customizations Sisense provides we are able to provide our customers with great analytics.

 ### 14. Highly advanced widget customization and controlled look & feel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like the ability to customize widgets and look and feel to very fine details, including font, color, size of text, etc.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The cubes and the need to build cubes, we always seem to have a lot of hassles with builds sometimes failing, designs of infrastructure not done properly, etc., and this causes a lot of hassle. It's also hard to do translations for all of our widgets/dashboards.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense solves the design and analysis of our insights and enables our customers to analyze data we have collected for them.

 ### 15. Great Data Connectors and Easy Modeling with Elasticubes and Live Models

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

All the different data connector options are great, and It makes it easy to develop data models with the Elasticubes and Live models. This makes it easy for people without a strong data modeling background it develop.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

When designing dashboards, I find the customization options very limited. Aside from out of the box features and add-ons, it's difficult to customize without knowing how to develop scripts or having to purchase an additional plugin from a 3rd party.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping our clients solve different use cases where they need a large volume of dashboards with an efficient loading performance.

 ### 16. Challenging Setup, Restrictive Data Capabilities

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I like that Sisense is pretty simple for new users to get into and start doing things with it. Building is pretty quick, which is great.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

They have a whole setup of using Elastic cubes, which can be really difficult to manage and oversee data security for them. Additionally, some of the interface of building analytics that are immediately in full dashboard view can be a little hard to get version control done.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps us give customers an interface to work with data without complex database setup, allowing them to create their own analytics and visualizations.

 ### 17. A versatile and evolving BI tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priscilla R. | Senior BI Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense offers developers an intuitive interface. Building models (live and elastic) is easy and straightforward. Basic capabilities are easy to learn and adapt. There is a range of widgets to choose from. I'm personally a fan of Blox given its versatility.

As a service, the support we receive for issues and queries is always outstanding. Though some issues take longer to be resolved, we are kept up to date on the progress.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

We struggled integrating it with Slack. Some of the basic widget customisations need custom scripting (if it is a frequently requested feature/capability the team strives to add it in the upcoming product releases, which is good). Having to purchase addons from third-party vendors for basic features is not ideal.
Lacks the ability to search for a metric to identify which dashboard contains it unless the metric is explicitly mentioned in the dashboard name.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps our business stakeholders view topline metrics in a consolidated place. It also helps our analysts self serve (build your own dashboard). It serves as a solution for our business intelligence needs.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Priscilla- nice to hear from you! We're glad to hear that you find Sisense to be a versatile and intuitive BI tool and that you appreciate the range of widgets and the outstanding support. We understand your concerns about the integration with Slack and the need for custom scripting for basic widget customizations. We're continuously working to improve our product and your feedback is valuable in this process.

As you know, I am always here as a connection, reach out whenever!

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The Sisense user interface is very user friendly and makes it easy to find configuration details. Integrations are simple as well.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Dashboard organization could be improved.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense allows us to create dashboards and visualizations for data analysis that allows us fill gaps and review product data.

 ### 19. Easy Dashboard and Report Creation For Data Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense AI capabilities allowed our team to translate complex data into clear insights and deliver reports to our clients faster. The ease of use of the platform is convenient for users that aren't as proficient at SQL.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Allowing more guest/viewer users would be helpful as we keep having to reassign licenses. Having user privileges easier to find on dashboard views would be nice as well.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense allows us to manage our data in the manner in which we want. We have created customizable dashboards for almost every department in the company. For my particular role, I use Sisense every day.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Thank you for your review! We recently introduced a new feature that enhances the widget and dashboard customization capabilities without the need for custom JavaScript. I'd recommend upgrading to the latest version of Sisense and checking it out!

 ### 20. Powerful and Highly Customizable BI Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

It's a HIGHLY customizable platform once you understand it better.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

It has some basic limitations like sorting filter items by a second field. For example, you can have days of week in order in a filter unless you apply a very ugly workaround. Outer joins were not available until very recently.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense is robust BI platform. I don't have to worry about coding charts and filters and how these things work together. It all comes out-of-the-box with Sisense.

 ### 21. Intuitive Dashboards, Minimal Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sai s.

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I use Sisense for business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting. I really appreciate its easy-to-use interface, which allows me to work faster without needing advanced technical knowledge. I can quickly build and customize dashboards using drag-and-drop features, saving time and effort. I like that Sisense performs quickly and makes sharing dashboards easy. The ability to create interactive dashboards quickly makes Sisense especially valuable for turning complex data into clear, visual insights.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes advanced features take time to learn, and dashboard customization can feel limited without deeper technical knowledge. Sisense could improve advanced features by offering clearer in-product guidance, step-by-step tutorials, and more examples for complex analytics. For dashboard customization, additional layout flexibility, more visualization options, and simpler controls for advanced settings would make it easier for non-technical users.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense for combining data from multiple sources, solving data fragmentation, and presenting clear, actionable insights through interactive dashboards.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Sisense. We understand the importance of providing clearer in-product guidance and more customization options, and we're continuously working to enhance our platform to meet your needs better. I also value the downloadable reports feature, which makes accessing important information straightforward. The initial setup of Sisense was easy, making it a smooth transition when I started at the company.

It helps me combine multiple data sources, visualize trends, and make data-driven decisions quickly. Sisense offers better data integration, more powerful dashboards, and a smoother user experience, so switching made our analytics workflow much more efficient. The initial setup of Sisense was quite easy and straightforward. The onboarding guides and documentation were clear, and most configurations were simple to follow. Overall, the setup process was much easier than expected.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Sometimes large datasets take a little longer to refresh, and a few advanced customization options require more technical knowledge. Adding more built-in visualization styles would also make dashboard creation even easier.

 ### 25. Flexible yet Lacks Specific Report Control

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tong D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I appreciate the flexibility Sisense provides by allowing me to incorporate JavaScript at both the dashboard and widget level. This feature gives me more control over how widgets interact with other elements on the dashboard. I also found the initial setup to be pretty easy. The user interface and pricing were factors that influenced our switch to Sisense from Looker.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

There's no widget level control for sending reports - it sends data for all the widgets on a dashboard.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to create a dynamic widget with custom field selection using JavaScript, allowing more control over widget interactions on the dashboard.

 ### 26. Great for simple visuals, and can be expanded with eCube customizations. Limitations on the user-facing formulas can be a problem.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher L. | Senior Technical Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

The UI is more of a common style at this point. Speed is good initially, but can be bogged down on larger datasets. the newer release has improved Excel export speed considerably, but the dashboards themselves can be slow to load. The plugin library has been expanded, though we have found many require coding - simple enough but many users are not capable of doing that for ad-hoc reporting.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The clear expectation of the developers is that report authors would be technical resources with access to the eCube. User-facing report development UI still does not include formula logic for non-numeric results. No "Left(<string>, 5)" to get the beginning of a string; that would need to be done at the eCube level as a new reportable field.

Support for the Windows version of the software has lagged considerably, though new development on Linux continues. Some additions to the UI for formatting (like adding a checkbox for word wrap) has happened, but not extensively. Many text formatting options still require writing little widget scripts.

**Recommendations to others considering Sisense:**

The market for dashboarding tools is a moving and vibrant one right now. Sisense is a great option for quick dashboarding, especially if you will need to work with the vendor to adapt the tool to your needs. Sisense the company has been helpful and responsive as we adopted it; providing very good support along the way.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal case management and spend management. The insights into spending trends are very easy to do, visually pleasing and dynamic. Simple assessments, such as viewing bill subtotals over time grouped by vendor, or by state, as extremely simple. Our clients have greatly enjoyed Sisense as an improvement over the old in-house reporting tool. There is still a lot with JAQL and R we have not yet tapped. I expect we will expand the use cases for this tool over the coming year, as we discover new ways to employ it.

**Official Response from Andrew Loomis:**

> Update 9/9/2025 - Sisense Intelligence now allows for natural language querying of any data model without the need to know SQL or underlying database structures. This makes dashboard design and ad-hoc querying easy for non-technical users. If you're interested in learning more, I've included a link to the functionality below.

 ### 27. Pros and Cons of Sisense - TLDR

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

There are a lot of plug in vendors with usefull stuff. Also, if you invest enough time figuring out the kinks of the javascript and workings of sisense you can develop some really cool features. The cube db system they use is good for a low code approach.
The costumer Support is usually quick and helpfull.
Integration with other systems is easy.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I dislike the UI, it is not user friendly, building dashboards and preparing the exports requires quite a lot of time invested into the platform, it is really hard to have a ready to go product even with your own development on top of it.
Ease of use is definitely not a plus on sisense.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dashboarding and Internal Reporting

 ### 28. Powerful Customization, Insightful Dashboards

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I find Sisense's ability to easily create dashboards and widgets to be a huge benefit. This feature allows me to slice and filter widgets to dive deeper into areas of interest for leadership. I particularly appreciate the drill down capabilities, as they are incredibly helpful in exploring data layers. The customization options, especially through dashboard and widget scripts, have made a significant impact on how our data is presented and highlighted. For instance, using widget scripts to tailor the look and feel of widgets ensures they meet specific visual requirements. Additionally, I created a dashboard script that effectively displays the date filter in the widget title for our embedded dashboards, which conveniently allows users to see the date range at a glance without having to scroll back. Overall, these features significantly enhance our ability to gain deeper insights from our data and have been vital in making our data visualization more effective and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I find the query builder in Sisense lacking in some areas, such as the ability to run multiple queries simultaneously. This limitation forces me to toggle between browser windows when I need to compare queries, which is inconvenient. It would be much more efficient if I could view comparison queries in the same window, similar to how SQL Server operates. Additionally, the error messages in the query builder can be too vague, especially when dealing with nested queries, making troubleshooting more difficult than it needs to be. These issues hinder my workflow and create unnecessary complexity.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to gain deeper insights into our data, track trends, and identify potential issues early. It helps streamline dashboard creation and customization, enabling us to present data effectively and keep leadership informed.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Hi, thank you for the review! I am happy to hear that you are getting such value from the product!! I would love to have you share this feedback regarding pulling a specific set of data to our Product Feedback Forum located in our Sisense Community.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

I appreciate the capabilities of Sisense in providing valuable business analytics dashboards to our users for over three years. It effectively assists in gathering and displaying a significant amount of information from our platform in a meaningful way, helping us to visualize trends in data. The inclusion of an API integration is highly useful for automating the creation of data models and dashboards, which has been exceptionally beneficial. Additionally, the customizable branding options align well with my company’s needs, enhancing the overall experience. The dashboards themselves are instrumental in presenting information clearly to users. These factors contribute significantly to my satisfaction with the product, making it a key tool in our operations.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

I found the initial setup of Sisense not as straightforward as I would have liked. It required finding the right documentation and working with the Sisense support team to get it set up and working correctly.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sisense to display complex vehicle data meaningfully and identify trends, benefiting from API integration for automated data model creation and customizable dashboards for user engagement.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Nothing new - we decided not to renew our contract with Sisense.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

They had a massive security breach that impacted us financially. Their response to that was not helpful and they deprioritized customer support

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a platform that can aggregate data from all the different sources used by our product and present a unified view of our current KPIs and progress towards hitting targets.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> This feedback is wonderful, and I think would get the best traction in our Product Feedback Forum located in the Sisense community. I encourage you to join and share your thoughts to help make documentation better!

There's nothing I dislike about Sisense.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense is assisting us in aggregating and analyzing data in ways we are unable to in our native application.

 ### 35. Efficient Data Visualization with Room for Improvement

 ### 36. Great Out-of-the-Box Widgets, but Dashboard Changes Are Tricky

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

A good set of out of the box widgets that meets most requirements

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Making changes to existing dashboards is problematic

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization of analytics data, it helps users view/review their data

 ### 37. Sisense Analytics Platform Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** gulshan d. | Salesforce developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

It just makes sense of data in a way that feels intuitive.I can build a complex dashboard without needing to be a full-time engineer, and the way it handles massive, messy datasets still feels like magic.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

While the dashboards look great, the actual builder feels a bit dated and clunky. It's not as sleek or intuitive as some newer tools, and sometimes a simple formatting change takes more clicks than it should

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly, Sisense turned our scattered data into a single source of truth. I used to waste hours stitching together reports; now I can build a dashboard that shows our entire operation at a glance. It empowers me to find answers myself without waiting on IT, which has dramatically sped up our decision-making. While there's a learning curve, the clarity it brings is absolutely worth it

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> It's great to hear that Sisense has turned your scattered data into a single source of truth and has empowered you to find answers yourself, speeding up your decision-making. I would suggest checking out our Sisense community for articles that can be helpful for any formatting issues you may run into!

 ### 38. Powerful dashboards, but setup and data modeling take time to master

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

How easy it makes working with complex data. It pulls information from multiple sources into one place and turns it into clear, interactive dashboards that are actually useful.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

The initial setup and data modeling can take some time to get right, especially if your data environment is complex. Some advanced features also have a learning curve, so new users may need training before they feel fully comfortable.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense helps solve the problem of disconnected, hard-to-understand data. Before using it, we were juggling multiple spreadsheets, databases, and siloed reports that didn’t talk to each other, which made it difficult to get a clear picture. With Sisense, we can bring all of that data together in one place, so we finally have a single source of truth.

 ### 39. Data vizualisation to a great extend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad Mateen M. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Since we have move well towards the world of AI, the Sisense also have these features that makes user experience more interactive. Like its intelligence, generating narratives, descriptions for tables, charts, providing summaries, analysis even if one is not an expert in data. All these are enhancing the user experience.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Well sometimes its slow like Iframes for dashboards, loading the dashboards can be slow and lagged which in a way disrupts the flow. Also some features are limited to certain report functions which are required in a lot more places. Apart from there other factors are also there like exporting data are not as feasible as others, if a user is viewing dashboards in mobile it can be hectic. Cost sometimes is also an issue for a lot of organizations as I have experienced, so these things can be looked at and improved.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Importing huge data from our source and preparing dashboards and reports on that data

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Mohammad, thank you for the review! We love hearing from our customers about their experience with our product. I would love to invite you to join our Sisense community and to get involved with other customers! We are a growing community and are always looking for ways to get our customers involved. :)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Easy to build, very visual and good user interface. Flexible data connectors, pricing is good for non-profits and supported by technical account manager

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

not as flexible in creating calculations and relies on data modeler/engineer. Also some standard visualizations and features require purchase through 3rd party vendors

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

visualizing data for internal customers to monitor, diagnose and analyze fundraising results

 ### 41. Exceptional functionality and support!

**Recommendations to others considering Sisense:**

I would recommend this product to any business or user. It is ver cost-effective and will increate company productivity by a lot!

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 44. Amazing Customer Support and wonderful people to work with

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Programmer Analyst / Project Management Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Ease of Use and Flexibility once it is installed. There are a lot of functionality and flexibility in creating dashboards using the scripting window. This allows the product to be very tailored to our department and organizational needs.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Since moving to the cloud most of the features that were a problem on-prem are no longer a problem. Some of the complex filtering is still a challenge with everything being an 'and' and no real way to use 'or'. Additionally, naming conventions for perspectives is a problem which is being worked on by Sisense.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adoption of BI in our organization but the ease of use for Sisense and the different options allows our users to enjoy excel like function and formulas but the power of BI as well as allows us to bridge data from completely different sources

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you so much for this glowing review, David! I would love to set up a call and chat about your experience moving over to the cloud and get that into our Sisense Community. ### 47. Sisense: Great for Simple Reporting but more Frustrating than any other BI Tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emanuel M. | BI Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense is really great in terms of building and simple straightforward reports and dashboards. I think Sisense has also been really great with integrating with Snowflake.

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Some things that Sisense lacks is the ability to create more in-depth data visualizations. I think the sharing and folder aspect of Sisense is lacking as well compared to other BI platforms. The amount of Javascript needed to do more complicated dashboards and reports is a fairly big hurdle. Finally the Sisense community is really lacking compared to Power BI and Tableau.

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sisense has helped with different departments and divisions in creating their own reports.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> We appreciate your feedback on Sisense's strengths in building simple reports and integrating with Snowflake. We understand your concerns about the limitations in data visualizations and sharing, as well as the need for extensive JavaScript for complex dashboards. We are constantly working to improve our platform, and your input is valuable in this process. A great way to get this feedback in front of our product team is to share it in our product feedback forum located in the Sisense Community; I hope we can see your thoughts there!

 ### 50. Interactive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raman S. | Tech Lead / Data Architect / Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Sisense?**

Sisense is a powerful and flexible business intelligence (BI) platform known for its ability to handle complex data modeling and provide scalable analytics. It supports both live and in-chip (ElastiCube) data models, offering versatility depending on performance and latency needs.

The platform excels in embedding analytics, making it ideal for companies that want to offer white-labeled dashboards or integrate insights directly into customer-facing applications. The drag-and-drop UI is user-friendly for business users, while developers and data teams can leverage custom SQL, Python/R scripts, and APIs for more advanced needs.

Sisense’s Live Data Models connect directly to cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift, allowing real-time insights without needing to move data. However, performance can depend heavily on how well the models are designed and how queries are structured.

Pros:

Strong embedded analytics capabilities

Flexible data modeling with Live and ElastiCube options

Scalable architecture suitable for large datasets

Customization via APIs, plugins, and scripting

**What do you dislike about Sisense?**

Cons:

Steeper learning curve for advanced features

**What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Embedding Analytics into Products: Sisense makes it easy to embed interactive dashboards and reports directly into web apps or SaaS platforms. This helps companies offer data-driven features to their customers without building BI tools from scratch.

Handling Complex Data Modeling at Scale: Sisense supports both live connections and in-memory models, allowing teams to manage and analyze large, complex datasets across multiple sources without sacrificing performance.

**Official Response from Jacqueline Cordell:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Sisense. We're glad to hear that you find the platform user-friendly for business users and scalable for large datasets. Your feedback is valuable to us! If you haven't had the chance to, I would encourage you to join our Sisense Community! This is the best place to gain help from Sisense experts and users.
