TENSILE TEST PROCEDURE ON UTM MACHINE 1. Put gage marks on the specimen. 2.

Measure the initial gage length and diameter. 3. Note the tensile strength of the material type used has to be known approximately. 4. fix the specimen in UTM machine. 5. Set the niddle on zero and lock both the pressure valve. 7. Set the micrometer on the specimen. 8. Start the machine and applied the load gradually. 9. Record the yield load at the elongation point. 10. Conduct the test until fracture. 11. Record the maximum tensile load at breaking point. 12. Measure the final gage length and diameter. The diameter should be measured from the neck.
