Animal Project

NO LATE PROJECTS WILL BE TAKEN FOR A GRADE.

Your child will be creating a nonfiction (factual) picture
book about a specific animal. This will be an animal that they
chose in class. The book can be any size or shape your child
chooses. If you bring your childs book in three days before the
due date I will laminate it before you bind it. Some binding
methods are: yarn, metal rings, shower curtains rings, or ribbon.
If you would like your child to have some lined paper for their
book please ask or jot me a note and I will send some home. In
addition to a book your child needs to create a replica animal that
is made from recycled materials.
Attached are several sheets that must be turned in for part of
their grade. They must write and complete the plan sheet and a
rough copy of the book. Have your child use the internet, books
or other resources to complete the plan sheet. Then they can use
the lined paper to construct their sentences for their book. After
their sentences are complete please help them look for grammar
and usage mistakes. This will be a part of their grade. On the
back are some ideas that might be helpful in completing the book
and animal project with your child. Remember they have to read
this to the class. The sentences dont have to be long but need to
have detail.
