Info on Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the scientific study of sports,
exercise and movement. Because the
topic is so broad, a kinesiology degree can
lead to a wide range of jobs with a wide
range of salaries. A kinesiology degree
can also be a prelude to studying medicine
or physical therapy in graduate school.
Educational Requirements
Students interested in declaring kinesiology as a major must first be
accepted into a 4-year university program. This most often requires a high
school diploma, as well as ACT and SAT scores. Students who have
earned high grades in the natural sciences and mathematics may be given
top consideration for entrance into a kinesiology program.
Programs usually take 4-5 years to complete and students study human
physical movements to encourage health and reduce injury or illness.
