Present Simple - English Grammar

The present simple tense is used to: 1) Talk about habitual or repeated actions like brushing teeth every day or facts like the boiling point of water. 2) Describe permanent situations like where someone lives. 3) Express opinions and states of mind. It is formed by using the base form of the verb for positive statements and adding "do/does not" for negatives. Questions are formed by using "do/does" at the start. You use present simple to talk about: Things you do every day and regular habit (Ex.: Every day I brush my teeth) Facts (Ex.: Water boils at 100C) Timetable (Ex.: The bus leaves at 9 pm) Permanent and long lasting situation (Ex.: We live in Belgium) Opinions and state of mind (Ex.: He doesnt agree with you) To talk about things feelings (like, love, hate) (Ex.: I love chocolate)

When we use does, we DONT add a S at the end of the verb Does he looks ? Does he look? He doesnt likes her. He doesnt like her.

Expressions that we use in present simple: Usually, always, often, sometimes, on Saturdays/Mondays, at weekends (on weekends US English), rarely, on occasion, never, seldom
