Girish: Welcome everybody; Before starting with what we are actually here for, we would like to make you confortable with the scenario out there. Karan: In terms of science and technology we have really advanced a lot. Let it be the time when we learned to control fire, And we advanced from bonfire to a matchstick. Girish: We started enjoying and creating our own music, we started to understand the notes of sound, peacefully great! And though we take it for granted that earth is round, but for most of the ancient history humanity believed that earth was flat. Karan: We learned to grow food for ourselves And we developed the concept of vaccination Girish: And then we invented ZERO! Karan: With the passage of time we moved to the era of COMPUTERS We invented computers and internet to save our time and efforts. Girish: Seems to be a joke now: p
Karan: And then came a revolution with corporates like IBM Apple Microsoft Motorola and others By the beginning of 21st century we have become a pro in terms of technology and still advancing Girish: But today, what we are here for, we are here for idea, No no no, my honey bunny we arent here to popularize IDEA group But we are great minds and great minds discuss ideas,
We are here for just two things, they are 1) Wireless Charging And the second one..! Yep you have to wait :D Karan: Well tell me frankly, how many of you were fascinated after seeing the Nokia Lumina 920 ad of wireless charges. Seems many of you have Well, wireless charging is not science fiction, its already happening, the technology is safe, reliable and efficient. Girish: But what wireless charging really is, lets see it in action Put your phone down on the table. It lights up and starts charging wirelessly. Pick it up if you want to use it, and put it down again to continue charging. No cable, no connectors, no fuss. Convenient, Isnt it.
Karan: Scientifically, you can say wireless and inductive charging is one and the same thing. To be technical (which I hate to be) A wireless charger is a device that transmits
electric energy through magnetic (radio) waves.
If you remember, our 10th grade physics, that magnets related chapter, yep the concepts are bit similar.
Electrons traveling through electric wires or other conducting objects generate magnetic forces perpendicular to the flow of electric power and any magnetic field perpendicular to the wire generates electric energy in the wire.
Girish: So that was all about wireless charging, god knows, maybe after few years even the electricity supplied may be inductive. Thanks a lot,
Karan: Hey Girish, looks like you forgot, but we have one more thing.
Girish: Oh yes, we wont leave you so easily. Lets see what we were to miss?
Karan: We are up to something special, a special kind of LED, and that is Organic light emitting diodes also known as OLEDs
Girish: OLEDs are omnipresent there are everywhere from your television set to smartphone screens and due to corporates like apple we are apple to see them even on a mp3 player. I am referring to iPod touch.
Karan: When they say organic, they really mean it; OLEDs contains some special organometallic compounds, some chelates which are its important functionality components, well we are neither interested in telling you in-depth about it and nor we know it. Girish: Ever heard about AMOLED, SUPER AMOLED, SUPER AMOLED PLUS or something insane like FULL HD SUPER AMOLED PLUS, well they all are an advance and a complex form of OLEDs. For your interest, AM stands for Active Matrix. Karan: Girish, Question is Why, Why OLED or AMOLED or whatever in place of LCDs and our lovely CRTs. Girish: Just count on me Karan, 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) What else do you want? Though there are few disadvantages to, but we are not here for that. May Wikipedia bless all our critics?
