- A pair of Dementors stage an unexpected attack on Harry and his cousin Dudley. - He is temporarily expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for using magic outside of the school. - Harry is visited by a group of wizards and is whisked off to Number 12, Grimmauld Place, the home of Sirius Black, and the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. - Reunited with his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry returns to Hogwarts and learns that Dolores Umbridge. - Harry, Hermione, and Ron form their own Defense Against the Dark Arts group. - Sirius being held captive and tortured by Voldemort. Horrified, Harry becomes determined to save him. - Harry tries to avenge his godfather and follows Bellatrix, but is met by Voldemort at the fountain. - Voldemort fights Dumbledore to stalemate, then possesses Harry in an attempt to get Dumbledore to sacrifice Harry in the hope of killing him. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth year of Harry Potter in Hogwarts School. Harry and his cousin Dudley are walking home from the park they are attacked by Dementors and he spells a Patronus Charm to save them both from the Demontors' attack. A Howler from Mafalda Hopkirk of the Ministry of Magic Ministry arrives for Harry and tells him he was expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for using magic in front of a Muggle. The Order of the Phoenix come and rescue Harry and then brings him to 12 Grimmauld Place to stay, where then he finds out that Hermione and Ron's family is there, too.

Harry is cleared of all charges. Because Dumbledore reminds them that, expelling him from the school of using a spell to defend them against the dementors. It is not forbidden to use magic when you are under age if it is a matter of life or death.As they arrive at Hogwarts they find out that Dolores Umbridge is the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. She gives false information such as denying Lord Voldemort's return. When Harry tries to say that Voldemort has returned, she gives him detention and makes him write "I must not tell lies". Dumbledore distance himself from Harry, knowing that Harry's mind is connected to Voldemort and can see visions of Voldemort when he gets a big emotionally charge like happiness or angerness.

Umbridge becomes the new headmaster, thus kicking Dumbledore out of his position and attempting to send him to Azkaban, which fails. Under the assumption that Dumbledore's Army is an organisation formed to undermine the Ministry. As headmaster, Umbridge ban many student activities and basically stops student freedom. You can get the activities back if umbridge allows you to have a group bigger than three persons. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to find a secret place named Room of Requirement in the castle where everyone willing students can come and learn of the Dark Arts defence. They decide that Harry will be their new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. The students use the room to train for Dumbledore's Army, which is later finded out by Umbridge.

Dumbledore instructs Snape to give him Occlumency lessons in order to block his mind from Voldemort's influence. During the lesson, Harry is able to penetrate Snape's mind and see all his memory, including one where James Potter and Sirius Black, in their adolescence, are bullying Snape, and he sees why Snape despises his father so much. Harry, in turn, agrees that his father was acting in a behavior that Harry was not proud of. The Occlumency lessons causes Harry to push all his friends away from him. Along with nine other Death Eaters, Sirius's deranged cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, escapes from Azkaban prison. A short battle ensues between Voldemort and Dumbledore, and Bellatrix escapes. Dumbledore overpowers Voldemort, and Voldemort attempts to possess Harry, but Harry manages to overcome his powers due to Harry's love for his friends, and claims that Voldemort is the weak one; Voldemort will never feel true love or friendship. Just as Voldemort Disapparates, Ministry officials arrive and Cornelius Fudge is forced to admit that the Dark Lord is indeed back in power. Voldemort sends Lucius Malfoy to Azkaban in revenge for not successfully retrieving the prophecy. As Dumbledore's Army and Dumbledore return to Hogwarts and Dumbledore is reinstated as headmaster, Dumbledore and Harry discuss the prophecy, and Harry discovers that in the end, only one can live, and that he and Voldemort are destined to fight each other.

COMMENTS

REFLECTION

Honestly I am thinking that I would never take this subject anymore after my foundation. But after few classes, I saw this one was different from all the others that I had taken before. In this class, I learn to listen, pay attention to detail, and not afraid to ask for help. This final coursework was not as hard as my first thought. It did take a great deal of time; I worked very hard on details and the format of the coursework. Thus, when my friends read my essay I was quite satisfied with my works. I knew that it took a much time to finish it but worth it.

To me, the strength I realised that this novel has been implemented in movie form which is make me easier to understand, study and observe the setting, plot and the characters. As we know, an experiment conducted by scientists state that if we hear we can get 10%, if we read we can get 20%, if we see we can get 30% and if we are in that situation we can get 50%. So in my case it is applied to 20% plus 30% equal to 50 %. I was just imagining if I were in the movie it could make me 100% out of 100%. Second, I already read this novel since I was in Form One back then. I still remember I bought this novel in MPH store in Bangi using my own pocket money. I like the series so I challenged myself to read it but it does not matter to me. Third, the moral support I received make me become more confident and getting enthusiastic. I would like to thank my parent, my English Language Proficiency Miss Catherine Tan Loo Sim, my fellow friends and everyone who has helping me directly or indirectly to finish this coursework.

The weakness that I realised is that my grasp in English Language is too weak. The standard language being used in the novel is high and it took for me to take two months to cover it. I used to refer to dictionary after I did not understand the meaning and the sentence structure. I think it helps me a lot in enhancing my language skills. Furthermore, I knew that I used to read less than my secondary years. Therefore, it encouraged me to read more books after these. I found that it is vital for someone to read lots of books as much knowledge can be found in the books. Then, we should read books so that we can have more idea, concept and experience. Last but not least, I know I had more weakness than my advantages so I need to work harder to improve my language skills. Until then, thanks for giving me this opportunity to learn something from this coursework.
