Benefits of Computer Based Training

Computer based training provides: interactive lessons, instant feedback, effective learning, and economical training.

Interactive Training

Computer based training is interactive. The student operates the program, turns the pages, uses hotwords, answers questions, and solves problems. The student must respond correctly to the questions in order to proceed through a lesson. Computer based training provides instant feedback. When a question is asked, the student must answer to proceed. The student will also know immediately if the answer is correct. Computer based training provides effective learning: Its participant focused Students progress is the focus of attention. Its fun Students enjoy working through the course because of the various activities. It has consistent presentation Each student is exposed to the same information. Its self-paced Each student works at the pace suited for his or her individualized learning differences. It measures skills The course quizzes measure what the student has learned. It has randomized questions and answers Each time the course is used, the order of the questions and answers is different. Computer based training is economical. There are no instructor fees. Its reusable. It allows for flexible scheduling, and there are no travel expenses.

Course Features
Programmed Learning Model
The GD&T Trainer uses the programmed learning model as an educational approach, which lets the student review the material completely before moving on to the next topic. The student must demonstrate comprehension of the material and successfully complete a quiz before being allowed to begin the next lesson. Although this course is easy and fun to use, the student has to learn the material to pass it.

The Lessons

There are 28 lessons in the GD&T fundamentals. Each lesson has three main elements: lesson objectives, instructional screens, and solve this problem screens. The lesson objective screen informs the student what he/she should learn in this lesson. It also serves as a preview of the topics to be covered. The instructional screens show the lesson content to the student. On occasion, the student will have to click another button or onscreen object to reveal additional information on the topic. The solve this problem screens allow the student to try the concept and receive feedback. Each problem must be completed correctly to advance to the next page in the lesson.

Lesson Objectives

The integration of lesson goals and objectives aids in the learning process. This is an important step in helping the student to understand the important concepts in each lesson, the information that will be tested, and where they should focus their efforts.
