Display and Evaluation of Archived SAP IS-U/CCS Documents
The high integration degree of the SAP module IS-U/CCS (industry solution Utilities/Customer Care & Service) and its scope of functionality for settling processes within specific industrial sectors in the areas customer service, customer information and settlement has special requirements with regard to quality and volume of data stored in the system and its presentation for users. The PBS archive add on CISU enhances this functionality by integrating the processing of already archived data. The complex and extensive data structures of SAP systems require consequent and regular data archiving to ensure high performance and system availability. Data compression in the archive files guarantees the necessary system performance for users at minimal expenses. In the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) processes users demand fast, integrated data access in dialog and evaluation applications within the lifetime of customer and settlement information. Similar requirements result from legal regulations for data access and examination of digital documents (GDPdU, IRS, etc.). However, after archiving this data is only available on a limited basis via standard SAP transactions. Analogue to SAP standard transactions, the PBS archive add on CISU enables fast and integrated access to both resident data from the database as well as archived data from SAP archive files. This allows unlimited use of all features of the SAP module for customer service and settlement within a flexible design of the ILM concept.

CISU
The PBS archive add on CISU is a software solution which enables comfortable and integrated data access for all SAP users to data from the SAP database as well as to archived data even after data archiving has been performed. Due to the analogy of PBS to SAP standard transactions, users work with familiar screens and thus benefit from best possible comfort when accessing the data. Nevertheless, the original SAP transactions are still available. The PBS archive add on CISU enables integrated and complete access to all archived and non-archived information, such as budget billing plans, settlement documents, print documents, contract accounting documents and EDM profile values

The original documents of an external archive also remain available after data archiving. This ensures complete and optimal data availability for the user.

You can access the PBS archive add ons via role-based menus or via the SAP Customer Interaction Center. With the integrated PBS archive transactions for displaying IS-U/CCS documents, archive data (archive indicator *) and database data are simultaneously displayed in the familiar way. It is thus very easy to select and present data. The high level of networking in the transactions
enables you to navigate directly to subsequent and previous documents within the IS-U module as well as to linked documents from other SAP modules. This applies to both resident and archived data. Furthermore, you can branch from each ISU-U/CCS transaction directly to linked original documents which are stored in external archive systems.

Display of Archived IS-U Documents
Large amounts of settlement-relevant documents are created in IS-U settlement, invoicing and in the contract accounts. To reduce the system load it is essential to archive this data after a certain time period. The PBS archive add on CISU offers comfortable display of archived and resident documents within settlement, invoicing and contract accounts and enables navigation within the complete document flow of document chains. The archive access does not strain the SAP database and thus helps to reduce the system load.

Display of Archived FI-CA Documents
The SAP contract accounting FI-CA is a subledger accounting function that is designed to process large volumes of documents and contains typical customer accounting features. Contract accounting is an integral component of the industry solution SAP for Utilities. The PBS archive add on CISU thus contains the solution for contract accounting as a similar integral component.
Display transactions
From the account balance to the document display In addition to single document display various other transactions are available, such as the display of account balances, document changes, installment plans, open item lists and document lists for the reconciliation key. In addition to the database data, all display transactions retrieve archived FI-CA documents.
Complete Integration
All navigation features which are available for the display of database data by SAP standard means are supported for archived FI-CA data by PBS features as well. For example, you can branch to an archived FI-CA document either from the corresponding IS-U print document as well as from the (archived) FI document display via the menu item original document when using the PBS archive add on CFI.
Comfortable Index Administration
A self-contained Administration Board is available for the index data administration of archived FI-CA documents. The PBS archive indices can be comfortably generated and managed using this Administration Board. Data Extraction
Current legal requirements, such as GDPdU, IRS, SOX, CFICI, ... define the need to extract SAP application data, especially accounting data, from the SAP system to data carriers which can be used for external processing e.g. by tax authorities. Solutions for Data Extraction in CISU Data extraction can be implemented easily and on a very variable basis using the PBS archive add on CISU functionality. Various data can be exported from the database and from the archive at the time when it is required. This data includes FI-CA document data, settlement and print documents, master data for business partners, any customer and customizing tables. Document-related Extracts With the special PBS extraction programs variable extracts can be created at the level of document lines. This enables to limit the data volume for the extraction very specifically, e.g. to a business partner. The fields which are contained in such an extraction data structure can be selected very flexibly via the ABAP List Viewer (ALV). Master Data Extraction In addition to the document data, a program for the extraction of master data for the business partner is also part of the delivery. The data volume and the fields to be selected can be specified selectively. All Tables and Customizing Data Another extraction enables to export data from any table and any corresponding archiving object. These can be, for example, customerspecific tables or Customizing tables. Corresponding table pools are already predefined to extract Customizing data. Extension of SAP Standard Extractors The SAP standard functionality provides different but relatively restrictive extraction programs for IS-U. These have been enhanced in a PBS version. Access to the archive data has been added and the selection criteria have been extended. Interface to the Analysis Program A tool to generate an XML description file is also contained in the software package. This ensures comfortable import to a PC-based analysis program, such as IDEA or ACL. List Display of Extract Data in the SAP System With the PBS DataViewer you can display the content of created extract files, enabling you to generate a report for each data extraction. This report displays the file content in an ALV list and enables you to verify the extracted data within the SAP system.

Administration Boards
You can set up and manage the PBS indices using the CISU Administration Board in the areas of invoicing and settlement. The CFICA Administration Board can be used for the contract accounting.
Administration of the PBS indices includes generation, deletion, activation, deactivation and scanning activities. The additional subdivision into main and long-term archive enables to reduce the PBS indexing program runtime and optimizes the PBS index management. The CFICA administration board manages the PBS index features which are related to the archiving object FI_MKKDOC

Energy Data Management
Energy Data Management (SAP IS-U-EDM) is completely integrated in IS-U/CCS and manages interval reading, settlement of energy quantities, schedule management and settlement of interval energy consumption. Profiles are preprocessed and transferred to SAP IS-U settlement via an internal interface. The PBS solution provides the well-known access convenience when displaying archived EDM profile values without additional load on the SAP database a practical enhancement related to the vast data volumes in this field.
Supplementary Tools
Supplementary tools are delivered with the PBS archive add on CISU. These enable direct access to archive data and support adaption to customer-specific evaluations as well as adaption to foreign languages that are not contained in the PBS standard delivery.
PBS Archive Browser
The transaction /PBS/SE16 is created in the same way as the standard transaction SE16. In addition, it contains a PBS-specific parameter (1-2-3 parameter) to choose the data source. This enables to display data either from the database and/or the archive files. The transaction allows you to have a quick overview of archived or resident document number ranges and enables you to find them easily.

Supplementary Tools
PBS Conversion Tool
This tool supports you in adapting your own reports for accessing archived data. The original reports are copied to new ones. The automatically generated PBS function modules enable the additional access to archive data. However, automatic conversion is limited to rather simple access paths. Complex access paths (e.g. JOINs) or nested programs need to be postprocessed manually.
PBS Archive Access Tutorial
The PBS Archive Access Tutorial provides developers with comprehensive support for complex select statements in customer-specific reports if archived data needs to be accessed. All PBS indexed archiving objects are explained in detail with index number, single and interval access in the supplied example programs. These can be executed immediately.
PBS Translation Tool
PBS programs are delivered in German, English and French. Adaption to additional local languages can be achieved via the PBS Translation Tool. With the SAP systems multilanguage capabilities, the necessary text elements and text pools are copied from corresponding SAP standard programs, dynpros etc. PBS-specific text elements must be translated with trans action SE63.

SAP ADK archive files and PBS index files can be integrated seamlessly into an existing storage infrastructure. The files can either be managed by an HSM system or stored on an external archive system via SAP ArchiveLink. Please consider a possible increase of response times to access the data when storing the archive/index files on external archive systems. When using the new PBS ContentLink for EMC Centera, this EMC content addressed storage (CAS) system can be used to store and maintain these archive/index files. This ensures good retrieval response time and compliant (secure) and economic storage of the data.
