EIP Topic Proposal

The student will research common stereotypes and preconceptions in patriarchal culture that negatively impact women's self-worth. Specifically, the unrealistic standards of beauty and narrow roles that women are pressured to conform to. The goal is to show how these ideas have become so ingrained in society that they are often not seen as sexist, and how they affect women. Research methods will include internet sources like blogs and articles, as well as consulting a women's studies professor.
