The Alternate. A man is pulled into a mind-blowing drama of treachery, lies, betrayal and coercion by a strange man who comes not from this earth, but a parallel earth in another dimension that exists just on the other side of this one. Tagline: In another world just like this one, another you is trying to not get killed...by someone just like you... Characters: Jack Barrow. (Keanu Reeves) Jack is a humble American school teacher. He specializes in teaching hearing-impaired children and loves his work but hates being alone. His wife, Alice, is dead some years ago from a car accident. Having few friends make him quite miserable though he really is a totally nice guy. Terence Jones. (Laurence Fishburne) Terence (Terry) is a Government agent, a loyal patriot and a loving husband. He is haunted and maddened to the point of revenge-seeking because of his wife (Deborah) being put into a deep, near-fatal coma from an accident some years ago. A coma she cant seem to come out of. And if her life support should be turned off... He is dark, sinister, angry and focussed. Alice. (Sandra Bullock) Alice is a soft, sweet, kind individual and is almost perfect in every way. A great wife, a wonderful person and someone that everyone loves to bits. Deborah (Debbie). (Alicia Keys) Deborah is humble, loving, kind and sweet. She is fair and honest and loyal. Opening Sequence: Black slides and opening credits inter-cut with Jack teaching in a class to young children with hearing impairments. He uses sign-language and his natural charm and talent to make the kids laugh and have fun while learning about geology. The bell rings and an overhead light board illuminates to signal the children that class has finally ended for today. As normal, children run out with their bags and books, happy to have class finished. Some kids high-five Jack as he sits down at his desk and smiles with love in his heart at his star pupils.

2. One sweet, young, spectacle-wearing girl stops and places an apple on his desk. He signs and mouthes thank you. She sheepishly grins and rushes him, giving him a big hug, a very big hug that catches Jack off-guard. She then runs away leaving a very bemused and contented Jack to sit back in his chair and sigh to himself that he is so fortunate to be doing this wonderful job. SCENE 1. INT. CLASSROOM. DAY. Jack picks up his red apple and tosses it into the air, grinning. He hears a person clear their throat and looks to the doorway. RON, another teacher is there. RON Ahem! JACK Hey Ron, Hows it going? Ron steps into the room. RON Yeah, good Jack, glad today is over if you know what I mean. Fridays are the worst! Those kids really are a handful sometimes, huh? Jack shrugs that comment off as he places his papers and apple into his worn, well-used teachers bag. JACK Nah!, Theyre sweet kids for me, must be just you, right? Ron grins and nods. RON Yeah! Must be! Listen, uh, Im going down for a drink tonight and watch the game on ESPN. You wanna come watch too? Jack considers it but looks reluctant. RON Please? Jack sighs. RON Aww, come on Jack. Dont make me beg. You know I hate to drink alone.

3.

Jack finally relents. JACK Oh, ok. Fine. What time? Ron grins broadly, happy to not be drinking alone. RON Say... Seven? Jack nods as he walks towards the door. JACK Seven it is. Your shout for pizza this time, remember? Ron looks confused and tries not to smile. RON Pizza, my turn? Again? I, I thought it was like your turn by now, surely? Jack grins and gives a bemused sideways look at Ron. Ron chuckles. RON Pizza it is! They both laugh as they leave the room. SCENE 2. INT. JACKS HOUSE. AFTERNOON. Jack arrives home from school, he has parked his old cutlass in the drive and has a spring in his step as he drops his bag and keys on the side-table. He picks up the mail and a cleaning-bill from his cleaner. He fumbles through the envelopes and sees only more bills. JACK Bill, bill... Bill, bill. He sees an appointment card from his veterinarian and notes on the back that he as an appointment with Rufus, his cat, for tomorrow afternoon. Jack puts the mail back down and looks to see Rufus come running up to be petted. JACK Hey Rufus, hi my pretty kitty. How you doin huh? Guess what? We got to go to the vet tomorrow, get you your annual check-up, right?

4.

Rufus mews happily while being petted. Jack goes to the cupboard and pulls out a pack of kibble and fills the cat bowl while Rufus eagerly awaits her food. JACK There, thats better huh? Now, I know you wont approve buy I gotta go to the bar for a little while to hang out with Ron, so, you best be a good kitty till I get home, alright? Rufus is far more interested in her food than what Jack has said. Jack smiles as he gives a last stroke to Rufus and then goes to this bedroom and changes his shirt. SCENE 3. INT. BAR. NIGHT. Jack and Ron are well into watching the game. The pizza pie is near gone and Ron burps as he ogles two women sitting across the bar. RON Come on Vikings, get that ball over the line you... JACK Another beer? Ron grins. RON Thought youd never ask! Hey, see those two girls, in the corner over there? Theyre watching us you know. Jack looks over and then looks down to the empty glass in his hands. JACK Yeah... I dunno... Ron nudges Jack lightly on the shoulder. RON Oh come on Jack! Its been too many years for Christs sake! Jack gets up to go to the bar. JACK I know. Im just not that ready yet. Jack walks off. Ron shakes his head at jack.

5.

RON Three years is enough Jack. You gotta be able to let it go my friend! Jack doesnt turn back but raises both glasses up in moot response. He gets to the bar and orders two more beers. The Vikings score again as he takes his drinks and he smiles up wanly at the tv as he returns to the table. Jack pauses mid-way as he sees that in his absence, Ron has quickly brought the two girls over and they are eagerly awaiting his return. He sighs and looks a bit frustrated by this forced encounter. RON Hey, Jack, this is Cindy... CANDY Candy! RON Candy, sorry, and this is... Julie, right? I didnt get that wrong as well did I? Julie smiles briefly at Ron but she makes goo-goo eyes at Jack. JULIE No, thats right. RON Ladies, meet Jack! Jack sits down, then remembers his manners. JACK Hi ladies... Oh, um, sorry, would, would you care for a drink? Both women thank him but say no, they already have drinks. There is a moment of awkward silence. RON Ok, so, you know, Jack and I are a bit jet-lagged from flying the Gulfstream in from Rome, but, we were wondering what you local girls do here for fun, right, Jack? Candy looks at Julie.

6.

CANDY Oh, theyre pilots! Jack looks very annoyed at Ron. JACK Actually, no. Were school teachers, plain local teachers. No fancy pilots...sorry. Ron grins with a oops-you-got-me grin as the women glare at him. RON Hey! Theres nothing plain about us. We teach kids with hearing disabilities. Thats better than some crummy old airplane-flying pilots, huh, right? The women, annoyed at being lied too, stand up. Candy walks away in a huff. Julie pauses and then opens her purse, she drops her business card on the table by Jack. JULIE Call me, maybe. If you want. Jack takes the card and plays with it, making eye-contact briefly with Julie. JACK Yeah, ok, sure. Julie walks away as Jack looks at the card with vexed amusement. Ron clips Jack across the ears with a light smack. RON Whats the matter with you, we couldve been pilots. Woman dig that kind of shit man! JACK Sorry Ron, I just dont like lying to people, especially women in a bar. RON So how you ever gonna get laid again if you don't talk yourself up? JACK I never did with Alice. Never had too. She loved me for me, for being a teacher, not some lame story about being a pilot!

7.

Ron nods, drinking more beer. RON Yes, but, Alice, God rest her sweet soul, is dead Jack. She is gone and you need to let her go a little. Just a little my friend. I dont mean stop loving her in your heart. But you gotta open your heart up again for the chance of love to come along and find you, you know? JACK I, I know, and youre right. I, I will, soon. RON Promise? Jack smiles into his beer. JACK Promise! They chink glasses and return their focus to the game as the Vikings score again. Ron is raucous and nudges a fakesmiling Jack who sighs with deep, inner regret. SCENE 4. JACKS HOUSE. NIGHT. Jack comes home from the bar and sighs heavily to the empty and quiet house as he closes his curtains. He turns the television on and grabs a beer from the fridge, sits down to watch nothing-in-particular as Rufus jumps onto his lap, purring. JACK Hey pretty kitty, how my bestest girl doing huh? Rufus shakes her head, enjoying the rub and affection. Jack smiles at his cat while considering the evening. JACK What do you think Rufus? We dont need another woman do we? We have each other and thats plenty, right? Jack looks over to the side-table covered with many photos of Alice, some of the two of them. His eyes cloud over as he looks lovingly at his wifes portrait.

8.

JACK Its not like they could ever hold a candle to you, my love. Tears well up in his eyes as he tries not to cry. Saddened, he turns the television off and goes to bed. Time passes, it is now day. Jack cheerfully puts Rufus into a cat-cage for transport and takes her to the vet. SCENE 5. INT. VETERINARY SURGERY. DAY. Jack brings Rufus into the surgery where DEBORAH, a rather attractive veterinarian is waiting for him. She is African American, pretty and kind. JACK Morning! DEBORAH Hiya! And who do we have here, huh? JACK This is Rufus and she needs her check up and the annual shots. Deborah nods as she takes Rufus from the cage. DEBORAH Uh-huh, youre a nice looking cat arent you? And you have a funny name for a girl too, right? Jack smiles. JACK That was my wifes idea. Rufus got named that way because she was a kitten and she was stuck up on a roof, mewing for hours till we happened to come along. The old lady whose cats they were, well, she couldnt cope with so many so she was kind-of glad to have someone take her. So, Rufus she became. Deborah nods and smiles as she performs her check-up. DEBORAH Uh-huh! I see... So your wife has a sense of humor then, huh?

9.

Jack looks down. JACK Had. Yeah, she had a sense of humor alright! Deborah looks up. DEBORAH Oh, Im sorry, I didnt mean to pry... Jack smiles, looking at Deborah. JACK No, its ok. My wife, she, she passed away. Deborah nods with a regretful smile. DEBORAH So were in the same boat then, my husband is no longer with us either. Jack tries to be funny to divert the conversation. JACK Hey, maybe we could start up a crazy support group - people with lost partners who love their pets. Deborah laughs. DEBORAH Right, or maybe not! Deborahs attention is drawn to the window where outside a man and a woman are looking like they are arguing over something. She sighs heavily. DEBORAH Oh no! Jack also looks outside. There is no way to know what the argument is over but jack can read lips quite well. JACK Theyre arguing about going to her mothers for dinner, he doesnt want to go. DEBORAH I hate to see people arguing, you never know when you might never see someone again. I hate that.

10.

JACK Speaking from personal experience? DEBORAH Uh-huh. The last time I spoke to Terry, we fought over the most stupidest thing, the color of the napkins for thanksgiving. Then... Then I never got to say I was sorry... Jack smiles wanly to Deborah as he watches the argument unfold. JACK I think hes giving in, yep... There you go. The couple hug each other and eventually walk away. DEBORAH Howd you know that? I couldnt tell what they were arguing over. Jack smiles. JACK I can read lips quite well. Part of my job as a teacher for hearing impaired children. Deborah blinks and smiles with approval, she nods. DEBORAH Thats a great job you do Mr. Barrow, Im impressed! Jack smiles back as he watches Rufus purr at Deborah. JACK Oh come on, being a vet, saving their special little lives, thats really awesome if you ask me. You win that one for sure! They make eye contact briefly, then both focus on the job at hand. Rufus gets his shot and is none too happy. Deborah completes the vaccination record and hands it to Jack. DEBORAH OK, heres Rufuss vaccination card. And this, is my home number, if you should ever need a vet in an emergency.

11.

She smiles sweetly as Jack takes the card and places Rufus in the transport-cage. JACK Thanks. Thanks so much. Ok. See you. Jack takes Rufus home and smiles and waves to a contemplative Deborah who watches through the window as he drives off. SCENE 6. INT. JACKS HOME. NIGHT. Jack sits on the couch with a rather unappetizing tv-dinner and watches the news while he sips on a beer. More killings and violence, doom and gloom is broadcast as Rufus runs in and jumps on his lap, purring away. JACK Hey beautiful, Im sorry you had to have that nasty needle... but, its done for a whole year so you can relax and be happy again, alright? Rufus is happy, being home and being petted again. Suddenly, Rufus fur stands on end, she is alert and growls, looking left and right. JACK Wh, whats up girl? Outside, a flash of blinding white light like a lightening strike illuminates the front yard and Rufus howls and runs away to hide. Simultaneously, the power goes out and Jack is sitting alarmed, in the dark, all by himself. JACK What the? That cant be lightening, theres no storm. Jack cautiously makes for the kitchen to find a candle. He opens the cupboard and pulls a candle and matches out, strikes the match, the eerie glow illuminating his face... and then the power comes back on again. Relieved, Jack blows the candle out and replaces them into the cupboard. There is a sudden and urgent knock at the door. Jack goes to the door and opens it. There is an African American man wearing a grey suit and looks very FBI. The man looks up at Jack and nods knowingly. JACK Can I help you?

12.

TERENCE Mr. Jack Barrow? Jack nods, curious as to who or what is going on. JACK Yeah, thats me. The man again nods. TERENCE Mr. Barrow, Im Agent Jones, FBI, may I come in please? Theres a matter of national urgency I need to discuss with you. Jack, being perhaps a little too trusting, nods and steps back. JACK Ah, sure, I guess so. Please, come in. Terence enters the home and casually surveys the lounge. He sits down on the lounge suite and looks quite at-home. Jack disapproves of this overly-familiar behavior. JACK Make yourself at home, please! Terence gives Jack a hard stare. TERENCE I already did! Jack and Terence stare at each other before Terence smiles and looks away. Terence sees the television and giggles. TERENCE Television, man I havent seen one of those in - so long! Jack is more curious as to what is going on than discussing televisions. JACK So, whats this about? Terence nods in quiet contemplation, head kinked. TERENCE Well, its like this Jack. I can call you Jack, right? Jack nods.

13.

TERENCE See, there is a very delicate situation occurring right now that requires your intervention to... help our great nation survive from an imminent terrorist threat. Jack considers this news. JACK How exactly? Terence smiles. TERENCE Theres someone who is a... terrorist and murderer. We need you to assist us in taking care of him. Jack shrugs. JACK Why me? Im not connected to any law enforcement agencies here. I dont have any special training or nothing that would be of any use, so why come to me? Terence nods but holds up his index finger to make his point. TERENCE Well, actually you do have something special that we need to use. See, you have dna specific to the situation that will allow you and you alone to be able to apprehend our suspect. Jack shakes his head, not understanding. JACK But - why me? Terence nods and smiles. TERENCE I will be able to reveal it all to you when we get back to division and I can fully brief you. Is that alright? Jack frowns, not too happy with this.

14.

JACK Look, Im sorry but I dont understand, you must have the wrong person! TERENCE No, we have the right person. JACK How do you know for sure? TERENCE We profiled you. JACK Based on what? TERENCE Based on...your occupation. JACK How does my occupation make my dna able to take down some terrorist? That makes no sense! Terence is beginning to lose patience. TERENCE Look, take it from me, right! You need to come with me and I am asking nicely! If you want, I can take you into custody and we can discuss this back at division, the hard way! Its your choice. Jack tries to diffuse the situation. JACK Listen, Im not being difficult here but you seem to be making some pretty outrageous statements based on ridiculous suppositions and - and I want some clarity before I do anything! TERENCE Clarity, well, is this clear enough for you? Under the law, Im detaining you now and taking you with me. When its all over, you can do what you like but right now, youre with me! Understand? JACK How did you profile me, exactly?

15.

TERENCE The Federal Bureau of Intelligence has files on everyone, we use super-computers that just defy explanation to everyday people. Jack rubs his chin in thought. JACK The Federal Bureau of Intelligence huh?... You know, I never did see your identification Agent Jones. Annoyed, Terence takes his credentials out and shows them to Jack. Jack takes the wallet and reads them, they are stamped United States of America, Federal Bureau of Intelligence - Agent Jones - Senior field Agent. Jack smiles and then begins to laugh. Rufus comes out of hiding and climbs on to a chair and begins to lick herself. TERENCE Is there something funny in what I just said to you Mr. Barrow? Jack hands the apparently bogus i.d wallet Back. JACK No, yes...well, you nearly had me. Heh, is this like some punk show, hidden cameras or something? You know, if you had the FBI thing printed right with Federal Bureau of Investigation then I might have believed you, Agent Jones - if that even is your real name! But really, Intelligence? Hah! Terence looks angry. TERENCE Do I look like I am being funny here Mr. Barrow? Well then, is this funny enough for you? Terence takes out his side-arm from inside his coat. It is a blue, plastic looking toy gun that could maybe come from any toy-store. Jack is getting up, slowly making his way to the kitchen. JACK Really? That...thing Doesnt even look like a real gun!

16.

JACK(cont'd) Are you like some kind of nut-job or something? Im about to call the police by the way!
Terence is quite angry now. TERENCE I wouldnt do that if I were you! Jack looks and moves towards the phone handset as he casually tries to remain calm. JACK And why is that exactly? Is it because there really is no Agent Jones in the imaginary Federal Bureau of Intelligence who issue their agents with toy blue guns? TERENCE Does this look like a toy to you Jack? This is a 22 gauge pulse pistol and I can assure you, its very real! Jack pauses, hands raised. JACK Oh - dont shoot me with your ray gun, Im so totally frightened! Terence adjusts the dial on the side. Jack picks up the phone and dials 911. TERENCE See, this is why its 22 gauge, on setting one it can shoot a wide pulse concussion blast and knock out the individual, which in this case is you! At 22 its a narrow beam that can cut through any living thing. Dont believe me? Here, this is level one! Terence fires the gun at the wall and a dent the size of a large watermelon slams into the wall, yet the gun fired no bullets. Jack is instantly shocked by the sudden huge concussion dent in his wall as the dry-wall crumbles to the floor. The operator on the phone asks 911 what is your emergency? TERENCE Hang up the phone Jack! NOW!

17.

Jack is stunned into silence, his mouth moves but no words come out. The operator again asks 911 what is your emergency... Jack clears his throat. Terence adjusts the dial on the gun. TERENCE Now 22, its a kill shot Jack, hang up the God-damn phone!!! Terence points the gun from Jack to Rufus. TERENCE Last chance! Jack is horrified of Rufus being somehow hurt in this bizarre situation. He hangs up the phone. Terence stands up and takes two black plastic cards from his pocket. TERENCE There, thats a little better. Now that I have your undivided attention! Here, take these and place each one on your wrist. Click the sides when you do, ok? Jack takes the cards and looks at them, turning them over. They look like thick credit cards but with no visible markings on them. TERENCE What are these? TERENCE Monitoring device, so we can make sure youre ok. Jack places one on each wrist, he clicks the small side buttons. A black energy band encircles each wrist and locks the card in place. JACK What the hell? TERENCE Its ok, see, I have them on as well. Terence lifts his cuffs to expose the same cards on his wrists. He takes a small pda type device from his jacket and motions to the door. TERENCE Ok, time to go. We have to walk... 30 metres east.

18.

Jack is worried now as to what is going on, this cant really be happening. JACK Look, I dont want to hurt anyone and Im sure you dont either. Please, just go and leave, I wont say anything, promise! Terence pushes Jack out the door. TERENCE Cant do that Jack, we need you, Im dead serious and refusal just isnt an option. SCENE 6. EXT. JACKS HOUSE. NIGHT. Terence uses his pda to navigate east while pushing Jack in front of him. JACK So wheres your car? The road ahead looks vacant and Jack is looking about for signs of help. TERENCE I didnt come here by car. Jack looks skyward. JACK You cant land a helicopter here, theres too many trees. TERENCE I didnt come here by helicopter either. JACK So... How did you get here then? TERENCE Shut up and walk, were nearly there. JACK Where? TERENCE A few more steps, hold it, right, stop!

19.

Terence checks the pda and looks about him. He then places the pda on Jacks wrist. The pda beeps and a voice says transponder initiated- vibration and frequency matched. TERENCE Ok, so, in a second, my transport will appear here on my left. Its important you do not move an inch and stay calm? Understand? Jack nods. A police-car screeches rounds the corner, lights flashing from Jacks hung-up 911 call. Jack tries to move towards the police that has stopped in front of Jacks house. Terence puts his gun at Jacks ear. TERENCE Uh-ah, I wouldnt do anything stupid if I were you! A policeman sees Jack and Terence and approaches cautiously while his partner knocks on Jacks front door. POLICEMAN Stop right there! Terence uses the pda and both wrist pads on the men glow a bright gold. TERENCE Keep your hands well apart, don't bring them together while were phasing, ok? Jack reluctantly nods, now ultra-concerned for his well being. The armbands glow blinding-white and then the world begins to shimmer. A bubble of wobbly mass seems to encircle both men and the entire world looks hazy from inside the bubble. The policeman cringes, covering his eyes from the glare as he begins to draw his gun. A blinding explosion of light makes Jack wince and close his eyes. He cautiously opens them to see Terence opening the door to some sleek, black car that looks totally futuristic and definitely wasn't there moments ago. JACK You have a disappearing car? With no wheels! Jack looks around him, the police car and policeman have somehow disappeared.

20.

TERENCE Here, get in. Ill explain as we go. SCENE 6. EXT. INSIDE TRANSPORT. NIGHT. Jack is pushed into the passenger seat. Jack goes to find a seat-belt but there is none. Terence enters the drivers side and sits down. The car lights up inside, a computer voice comes from the car. CAR Power on...initializing... Detected, Agent Jones... scanning... no CCI detected in passenger... Recording... State your destination... Jack looks at Terence who is focussed on the car. TERENCE System override... Code Alpha ten seven Alpha Zulu Alpha, engage. The lights blink in succession on the dash. CAR Override code accepted. TERENCE Stop recording. CAR Recording stopped. TERENCE Manual controls. CAR Manual controls not recommended as system reports no malfunction. Please verify manual controls request? TERENCE Yes, damn it! Manual controls! CAR Confirm, manual controls on override protocols is initiated. Shall I go to sleep Agent Jones? TERENCE Confirm yes, sleep.

21.

The lights dim somewhat on the dash. Agent Jones presses a button and the cars instruments light up. The vehicle hovers along the road silently. Jack is in awe of this state-of-the-art vehicle. JACK I cant believe you have a disappearing car! Terence watches the road. It is quiet and seems familiar but also looks different somehow to Jack. TERENCE Heh-heh, I dont have a disappearing car Jack. JACK But it appeared right in front of our eyes. Terence shoots Jack a look. TERENCE No, more like we appeared right in front of my transport. It was right there all along, in my world. Beat. Jack is totally confused. JACK What do you mean in your world? Terence nods in quiet contemplation. TERENCE Alright, lets start from the beginning. I need you to focus and to think laterally, let me speak first before asking too many questions, alright? Jack gulps and nods. JACK Ok, sure. TERENCE So: Have you ever considered a multiverse as opposed to a singular universe concept? Jack shrugs.

22.

JACK No, not really, whats that? TERENCE Ok, the world in which you live in, is actually one of literally trillions, all are practically the same. There are countless numbers of you and I, all doing similar things, some almost exactly the same, some a little different, right now, this very instant. JACK But how can that be? TERENCE Um, think of it like your hair on your head and your head as the multiverse. Each hair is a separate world and is slightly unique but all carry the same basic dna, some hairs are slightly smaller, thicker or longer but all carry the same generic markers. Each hair considers itself to be separate and in its own state of being yet all are interconnected on the head. JACK Ok, but how can we all exist at once? TERENCE Well, each individual you and world you live in vibrate on a specific frequency. The you in your world vibrates only slightly differently to the you in this world. Its kind of like radio waves. You have a few radio stations in your world right? Five or six maybe seven? JACK Um, more like thousands but yeah, go on. Terence smacks the steering wheel and laughs. TERENCE Damn, thousands. Heh! Alright, so, each radio station is broadcasting right now, right?

23.

TERENCE(cont'd) You cant hear or see them but every second, the radio stations and tv stations too are all around you. Its only when you tune in to the right frequency that you can detect the station. But, if you don't listen to another station, it doesn't mean its not there, its just...
JACK Its just youre not listening to it on the right frequency, I get it. Terence nods, making eye contact. TERENCE Thats what these arm bands and my little gizmo do, they become the radio that allows us to jump from one frequency and vibration to another, so we jump from your world to mine. Were all in the same space and time, just the vibration is different so that you cant see them anymore because I changed your vibration rate. JACK But I dont get the vibration thing, Im here in your world and yet I was there, in my world? Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah thats right. I altered our vibration rate to match the frequency of my world. Think of it like this. Imagine a propeller on a plane, when its stopped or turning slowly, you can see it right? As it speeds up, it becomes hard to see as its frequency changes and eventually, you cant see it at all. Well, thats like vibration rates. We spin at a rate that is impossible for the other earth you belong to, to see, get me? But dont worry. Your world is still right were we left it and I will return you there once we have our terrorist in custody. Jack rubs his jaw and sighs.

24.

JACK But why me? What is it in my DNA that makes me so special. Terence nods. TERENCE Well. In this world, my world, we have evolved a little quicker than you. There were slight differences along our respective timelines that meant that we got a little smarter, better, different, whatever. JACK How? TERENCE Doesnt really matter how. Could be we had a different President, different war outcome, different something that made a change somewhere in our evolution... noone really knows. See, Ive seen other-earths that are the same as you, Ive seen them still in the dark ages too and a whole host inbetween. JACK But, why me? TERENCE Well, on our world, we prize peace and love to a very high level. Technologically, we are advanced and have chips implanted that help us with communication, security, life, navigation. Pretty much anything we do. See, this is my CCI. Terence swipes across his knuckle of his right hand and a numeric touch-pad lights up on the back of his hand, glowing eerily in the dark through his skin. JACK Get out! You have a phone implanted in your hand? Terence laughs.

25.

TERENCE Well, its more than just a phone, its like a super-computer from your world, the size of a grain of rice linked into the touch-pad in our hands and linked directly into our brains. JACK No shit! Jack ponders this. TERENCE No shit. JACK Ok, but Im still not getting it. Terence nods. TERENCE Well. As I said, we value life and the Computer Chip Implant or CCI tracks everyone, everywhere so that crime cannot occur. JACK Ok? TERENCE The only loophole we have, is that we also allow the right to self-terminate as a freedom of choice. JACK Huh, suicide is acceptable here. Ok? TERENCE And this is where you come in. I need you to assist in terminating someone with a CCI and I cant be there to be logged in and tagged as a coconspirator. JACK But if he is a terrorist then surely you have rights under the FBI laws to take him into custody? Terence again nods.

26.

TERENCE This is a very delicate situation. You see, Jack, the problem is that this terrorist is protected under the law so that we cant terminate him, yet he is undeniably guilty. It suddenly dawns on Jack why his dna is so vital for this operation. JACK You need me to kill the me in this world! Terence smiles. TERENCE And there it is! Bingo Jack! You hit the nail on the head. Right on time too! Under the law here, you cant be charged or convicted for killing yourself. And thats where you come in! You can kill the other you, the bad-you and cant be charged, ever! Jack shakes his head. JACK But I dont get it, I would never be a terrorist in my world so why would the other me in this one be like that here? Terence grinds his jaw. TERENCE Trust me Jack, Ive seen it first hand. He is evil and even though in your world you might be a stand-up kind of guy, in this world he would kill you in a heartbeat if he knew you were here. Jack cant believe his ears. The passing city-scape now looks more different to Jack as they glide along. JACK So this world has a copy of everyone in it that is in my world?

27.

TERENCE Mostly. Some worlds have people who died earlier for some reason, made bad choices or something, I dunno. Jack grimaces. JACK So, my wife could be alive in this world! Terence shakes his head. TERENCE No Jack, you never married in this life, stayed single and became a terrorist. I know. JACK Yes ok, the other me stayed single, but the person who is my wife, who died in my world, she could be alive still in this one! Terence considers this and brushes it off. TERENCE Yeah maybe. But seeing as she never married you, she doesn't know you from a pile of dog shit so theres no point in anymore speculating now is it? JACK I gotta see her! TERENCE No! JACK Please, I got to see her and see that she made it ok, that she is happy...please? TERENCE You cant interfere in her timeline here. You cant move around and do stuff. Your only objective here is neutralize your other you and then get home, got it? JACK Why not? What harm could it do?

28.

TERENCE For starters, you don't have a CCI. That makes you a terrorist here as only terrorists have no implants. So, your ability to move around the city is almost impossible! JACK So get me a CCI thing then. Terence shakes his head. TERENCE Cant, CCIs are impossible to steal and cant be duplicated. If you got a CCI matched to your DNA then the terrorist-you would have his CCI automatically disconnected. We cant have him free to move about undetected. JACK Look! Ill help you after Ive seen Alice, I promise! TERENCE No can do. Sorry. Jack grinds his jaw. He thinks momentarily. He now knows what he has to do. JACK What the hell is that? Jack points left, drawing Terences gaze outside. TERENCE What? Jack elbows Terence several times, then places him into a sleeper hold, knocking him out. The transport lurches sideways and glides off-course, hitting a small tree. They bounces off and the transport glides back on to the road as Jack grabs the steering wheel. The transport slowly stops and Jack opens his door, then pulls Terence across to the passenger seat. Jack dashes around and gets into the drivers side and looks at the very confusing instrument panel. JACK Oh come on, how hard can this shit be? Terence stirs. Jack looks through the center console and finds nothing of use.

29. He frisks Terence and finds in a belt clip, something that resembles two singular hand-cuffs. He takes them out and places them on Terence, they have a button on the side and Jack presses it. The cuffs magnetically lock together so that Terence is in a prayer position and then the cuffs automatically pull over to the mag-cuff plate on the passenger side of the transport door, effectively stopping Terence from being able to move. Terence is now incapacitated. Jack takes Terrences tie from around his neck and uses it as a gag to silence him. Jack presses random buttons but nothing seems to do anything of any use. JACK Damn it! Car, system, wake-up! The car lights up. CAR Power on...initializing... Detected, Agent Jones... scanning... no CCI detected in passenger... manual override protocols in effect. Jack looks at Terence who is slowly regaining consciousness. JACK System, access the whereabouts for a Alice Barrow. CAR No person detected in the state of Los Angeles with that name, shall I widen the search parameter? Jack considers. JACK No, of course, she never married me. System, search for the whereabouts of Alice Trubidore. CAR Located, Alice Trubidore aged 35, residential address 17 Mulholland Boulevard West Hollywood. Jack looks at Terence who is now awake and rather angry.

30.

JACK But thats her parents place? She, she never mustve moved out of home...so we never met at the bar when her flat-mates went out for a birthday drink! Oh man, she never met me and now shes living at home still with her parents! Terence tries to mouth words that are incomprehensible but the look is clear, he doesn't approve. JACK I have to go and see here. System, is she home right now? CAR Current location of Alice Trubidore is Hardford Street Supply warehouse. Current role there is on rotation as stock replenisher. Current rotation expires in forty minutes. JACK System, do I only have forty minutes to get to her? CAR Confirmed, forty minutes till end of rotation. JACK System, can you navigate me to that address while remaining on manual override? CAR Confirmed. Go straight three hundred meters, then left on to Main and right on to Hanover. Jack uses his feet to feel for an accelerator. The transport jerks forwards and Jack smiles. JACK Hah! Same as cars back home! Terence mumbles incoherently. JACK Look, it didnt have to be this way! I promised to help you in return for a few minutes with Alice, that wasnt too much to ask for as far as Im concerned.

31.

Jack makes a left and then a right. JACK Its been three long years Agent Jones without my wife. Three years of pure hell without the love of your life! Can you possibly understand that? Reluctantly, Terence nods. CAR Arriving now at destination. Jack pulls over and looks at the large supermarket-like warehouse that is open. There are a few other parked transports hovering in the carpark as Jack comes to a halt. He exits the transport and looks over to Terence before walking off. JACK Ill be back in five minutes. Dont go anywhere. Terence looks furious as he cant do anything at all. SCENE 7. INT. ALICES WORKPLACE. NIGHT. Jack enters the supermarket and casually looks about him. It is a typical supermarket like any other. He grabs a trolley and takes some random generic-looking items from a shelf as he looks at the staff for signs of Alice. Re rounds a corner and sees the checkout line, there, in the end line is Alice, serving a businessman. She scans his products as slowly Jack approaches, mouth agape. ALICE There you are sir, if you could please scan your cci for me. The man waves his hand over the scanner. Alices console goes green as she sees his identity and status confirmed. ALICE Thank you Mr Richardson. Be well! The man nods and pushes his trolley of goods away. Jack slowly pushes his cart up to Alice. He is dumb-struck at seeing his wife alive again. ALICE Good evening Sir. If you could please pass your items up, Im just about to finish rotation for this evening.

32.

Jack nods and smiles. JACK Ah, yeah, sure. He hands her random things he took from the shelf and she scans them before packing them into cloth bags. She feels Jacks stare and looks up. ALICE Is there something wrong, sir? JACK Oh, no, no. Sorry...do, do I know you? Alice stops packing his groceries and she studies his face. She smiles sweetly. ALICE Um, nope. Dont think we met. JACK You sure? I swear Ive seen you somewhere before. Alice looks up, a little uncomfortable with the staring. ALICE I dont think so. But, if this is some kind of way of asking me to get to know you, well, its kind of weird. Jack cant help himself any longer. JACK I really do know you! Your Alice Trubidore, you live with your parents at 17 Mulholland Boulevard West Hollywood. You, you talk in your sleep, your favorite color is yellow and your nose crinkles up when you laugh which is one of the things I love about you. Alice snorts and giggles, her nose crinkling up. ALICE Yeah, my nose is kind of funny huh. But, but how do you know this about me when I dont know you? Jack grinds his jaw in frustration.

33.

JACK Trust me Alice. If you give me the chance, I promise you, you wont regret it. Alice looks at him through whimsical eyes. Her expression then changes to an alarmed realization. ALICE Did you get that information by somehow hacking my CCI? Are you a terrorist? Jack is alarmed. JACK No, please dont be afraid, Im not I swear! Alice looks pensive as she resumes scanning the groceries. ALICE So... you know my name, are you going to tell me yours? Jack smiles, extending his hand to shake hers. JACK Im Jack, Jack Barrow. Alice snorts and giggles, her nose crinkling up again. ALICE Just like the pirate? Jack looks confused. JACK Huh? ALICE You know, Captain Jack Barrow on Pirates of the Mediterranean. Jack smiles. JACK Oh - no, thats Jack Sparrow... Alice snorts into more laughter, her nose curling up again. ALICE Sparrow? Like a bird? Why would a pirate be named after a bird? Thats silly. Jack nods, transfixed by her smile.

34.

JACK Right, of course, that is silly. ALICE So what do you do for your current rotation Captain Jack? Jack looks pensive. JACK Ah, what do I do, well, I teach children. Hearing impaired children, thats my rotation. Alice looks confused. ALICE What do you mean, hearing impaired? Whats that? Jack shrugs. JACK You know, deaf kids. Alice looks bewildered. ALICE But their CCI would control that, that makes no sense...unless youre talking about teaching kids with no CCI and again that makes you a TERRORIST! Alice begins to panic, looking about her. JACK Look, Im not a terrorist, honest! Alice is near hyperventilating as she panics. ALICE Ok, whatever, if youre not a terrorist then scan your CCI so that you can leave me alone, please? Jack fumbles with his hand. This is not going to plan. JACK I, um... Alice grabs his hand and draws it over the scanner, nothing happens.

35.

ALICE Oh my lord, you ARE a terrorist! Please, Oh God! Oh no, someone, call the peace officers, there is a terrorist here... Please! Help! A warning bell goes off from somewhere, mist begins to spray down and customers begin to stop and stare. COMPUTER VOICE Elevated heart rate detected Alice Trubidore, be calm. Insence, patchouli, frankinsense, lavendar. Think calm thoughts, ocean breeze, walking in the park... The incense spray is annoying and overpowering, Jack suddenly feels a firm hand grip on him, he is turned around and Terence whacks Jack across the head with his gun. TERENCE FBI, everyone, be calm! I have the situation under control! Terence places the mag-cuffs on Jack and roughly pulls him to his feet. Jack is groggy and has a mild cut on his face from where the gun struck him. Terence yanks him out to his transport. SCENE 8. EXT. INSIDE TRANSPORT. NIGHT. Terence places jack in the transport, the mag cuffs lock Jacks hands to the door. Terence drives away from the supermarket as the public watch. TERENCE That was stupid Jack! Dont worry, that wont happen again! You couldve done some real damage here with that cowboy shit! Jack looks defiant. JACK I had to see her! Terence glares at Jack. TERENCE You need to understand something. This world is not your world!

36.

TERENCE(cont'd) There is stuff going on here that you cant understand without long explanations that we just don't have time for right now. What you need to understand is that you have to kill you, he is a bad man, a terrorist and a murderer and that is all, understand?
JACK I dont believe you, it cant be! The transport pulls in to a hospital, Terence pulls up in the peace-officers parking bay by the entrance. JACK What are we doing here? I thought you said you were taking me to division? TERENCE Theres something you need to see first. Proof of what Im telling you is real! Jack looks at the hospital and then nods. JACK Alright. TERENCE Now, Id prefer to not have you mag-cuffed in the hospital but if you cant be trusted... JACK You have my word, I wont do anything. Terence looks into Jacks eyes. TERENCE Alright, just remember, I have my sidearm and if I shoot you without a CCI, itd be just me taking down another terrorist, you get me? Jack nods. Terence un-cuffs Jack and they go into the hospital, heading up to a private room. SCENE 8. INT. HOSPITAL ROOM. NIGHT. Terence and Jack enter the hospital room. In the only bed, an African American woman lies sleeping. She has monitors beeping and a green laser-like light scans her body continuously.

37.

Terence leans over her and kisses her forehead as Jack studies the situation. JACK Who is this? Terence steps back so that Jack can clearly see. Deborah (the vet from Jacks world) lies here in the hospital. Jack sees her and recognizes her immediately. TERENCE This is Debbie, my wife. Jack you asked me before if I had any idea of the pain of losing your wife, well, believe me, I do. JACK Whats wrong with her? TERENCE Shes in a coma. Been that was for almost three years now. She was a fine Doctor, a beautiful, loving wife. Then, then you came along, the other you. Tried to kill me when I was closing in on you - him - and Debbie got caught in the middle. He did this and if its the last thing I ever do, I swear I will make him pay! Terences eyes fill with tears as he strokes her hand. TERENCE I love you baby, Im here, Im here. Jack sighs, he can relate to the pain Terence is feeling. JACK And there can be no other explanation, hes really a terrorist? Terence walks over to a screen on the wall. TERENCE Here, see for yourself. This is from our records file of the night he tried to kill me. Terence swipes the screen and it lights up. TERENCE System, access records file from Terence Jones, FBI operative in Los Angeles.

38.

The screen displays a page. TERENCE Date parameters 17 April 2009 11pm to 11.01pm The screen opens to a video file. Jack notes the file has been viewed 87674 times. The screen shows another-Jack and Terence in a gun-fight at Terences home. Both men fire their pulse-pistols, Terence from behind the kitchen-bench and Jack from the cover of a wall by the front door. Plaster/dry-wall is shredded from the walls as silent shots nearly hit the two men. Then Debbie comes home, opens the front door and steps inside. Taken by surprise, Jack turns and fires as Terence nearly hits Jack. Jacks shot is off target and scrapes Debbie in the head, knocking her backwards where she hits her head on the open door and falls to the ground. The other Jack then is horrified by this and flees while Terence drops his gun and rushes to Deborah. The file ends. JACK I'm so sorry. But why was I, him, why was he trying to kill you? What made him track you down? Terence swipes the screen off. TERENCE I was on to him. I told you, hes a terrorist and somehow he found out how close I was to taking him down and he came for me first. Debbie was just collateral damage as far as he was concerned. JACK I honestly dont know what to say. TERENCE Say youll take him down, do whats right. What you know is right! Jack looks over to the bed and then back to Terence. JACK Youre sure I cant get into trouble and stuck here in this world for doing this? TERENCE You have my word Jack. Im FBI so I can outrank any peace officers here if they get in the way.

39.

TERENCE(cont'd) Plus, my CCI will not show me around the other you when you do kill him so I will be free to take you back and make sure you get home, safe and sound. Our Nexus system cant track you without a CCI.
Jack considers it briefly, then nods. JACK Alright, Ill do it, I don't seem to have any choice regardless so I guess Ill do it. Terence smiles. TERENCE Excellent! We need to stop by my place for a minute, then we can get you prepped for the insertion. Both men leave the hospital room. SCENE 9. INT. AGENT JONES HOME. NIGHT. The transport stops and both Terence and Jack exit the vehicle. They go to the home and open the door. Jack notices there is no lock on the door. JACK Hey, dont you guys lock your doors in this world? Terence smiles as he goes inside and pours them both a drink. TERENCE No need, CCIs protect everyone. We dont have crime in this world. JACK What, no burglary, homicide, rape? Nothing? TERENCE Nope, none of that. See, we dont have a society based on haves and have-nots. We don't have money and we don't have greed. Thats the beauty of the CCI. For over fifty years now we have a society based on love, peace and honor. Thats the three sacred seals on our coat of arms.

40.

Jack scratches his head in bewilderment. JACK But how do you pay for things like food and water? Terence looks at Jack with a smirk and raised eyebrows. TERENCE Jack, those are basic necessities of life. Why would you need to pay for something that is in so much abundance on this world? The society you know, is all about greed and corruption. We have none of that here. If you need food, you go to the supply warehouse like where Alice works and you get what you need. JACK But the CCI still got swiped by the man in front of me, why was that? TERENCE Only to verify that he wasnt a terrorist and to make the system know what items were used and what to re-order. JACK But, who makes the stuff then, who delivers it? TERENCE Well, that's what the rotationalists do. See, here you can either be a specialist, like a doctor or peace officer for example. Or, if you don't know what you want to be specialized in, you go on rotation and then every season, you get a new post. One season might be food-grower, next might be cleaner, next might be laundry and so on. Jack nods. JACK And can you go from specialist to on rotation and back again if you want? Terence nods.

41.

TERENCE Sure! Whatever you feel passionate about is what you can do here. And if you change your mind, then you can always try something else. JACK But you don't get paid, ever? Terence laughs. TERENCE Oh Jack! I get it that you find it hard to get past getting money for doing something. Money is the root of all evil in your world. No, we never get paid. But, we have no bills to pay, no homes to pay for, no cars to pay for, no worries, ever! On our world we offer ourselves for three days per week, six hours per day. Eighteen hours is more than sufficient for society to flourish. JACK Eighteen hours? But, we work, like forty or fifty! How can that be? TERENCE Yeah, but a good amount of your population work for, or around monetary based industries. We have none of those. We dont follow the concept that your world has: I will only do it if I get something in return. We are brought up to give to our society, not take from it. Your world has the wrong focus in my opinion. JACK You say that like its a judgement and yet you dont even know my world at all. TERENCE Ive seem many worlds like yours Jack and they all have the same basic flaws.

42.

TERENCE(cont'd) Worlds based on money are always repressed, where the greedy few have most of the money and the poorer masses have the least. Tell me something Jack, in your world, you work forty or fifty hours, you get paid, but do you have enough of everything in your life? Or are you always chasing your tail, trying to play catchup, just to make it to the next pay-day where you again find you dont have enough? Trust me, that society is always doomed to fail!
Jack thinks this over. JACK That system on your world does sound good. Probably better than the one we have. Terence nods TERENCE Of course it is. We have no unemployment, we certainly dont pollute our world, there is no cost to anything, ever! If we dont make something perfect the first time, we try hard to improve on it and make it better. Like I said, we have evolved to a different level in this world. Im not saying we are better than you, just that we hold different values. Jack sits down in the sofa. Terence raises an eyebrow. TERENCE Make yourself at home Jack. Jack stares at Terence. JACK I already did! Both men grin for a moment. JACK So how am I going to do this, take him down?

43.

Terence motions for Jack to follow. They go into Terences office and Terence presses a button on the side of a picture. The wall opens to reveal a cache of weaponry. JACK Woah! That's a lot of guns! Terence takes a rifle and pistol from the rack and hands them to Jack. TERENCE Perks of the FBI trade. This pulse-rifle is the same as the pistol, just extended range and battery life. Jack takes the very light-weight futuristic rifle. JACK Ok, thanks. Jack holds the gun up and looks at Terence. Terence sees the look from Jack. TERENCE Relax, if you kill me, you become Americas most wanted man in an instant and you cant get back to your world ever. You need me Jack, just as much as I need you. Jack nods. JACK I know, it wasnt in my mind to double-cross you. Terence takes a small handgun from his coat pocket. TERENCE And this handgun, I took from your world before I came to your home. We dont have projectile guns here so when you go to his home, the pulse pistol and rifle probably wont fire, but, the handgun from your world will. Jack looks quizzically at Terence. JACK Why wont the pulse guns work? TERENCE Well, the other you has a sophisticated security set-up.

44.

TERENCE(cont'd) No-one other than people with your DNA, which is his DNA, can either come or go from the property without lethal detection from the anti-intruder security system. But, once inside the perimeter, your pulse-guns are deactivated by that same system. Im giving them to you so that in case you go off-site somehow that you have the means to kill him with.
JACK But youll be nearby right, monitoring the thing, in case I get into trouble. Terence shakes his head. TERENCE The security system blocks all remote-viewing. Once you go into the house, youre on your own. But honestly, if your quick and quiet, you will have no problems. I will be just around the corner. When its done, come out to me and I will take you straight home, promise! Jack nods, putting the handgun into his belt with the pulsepistol. Terence closes the wall over and they prepare to leave. SCENE 10. EXT. MANSION. NIGHT. They pull up in the transport opposite a very flash looking mansion. Palm trees surround a gorgeous fountain and all is lit up to highlight the beauty of the home. Terence looks at it with anger. TERENCE This is his home. I cant follow up the drive as the alarm will go off. But you can walk in like you own the place because technically, you do. Jack is blown away. JACK Man, what do I, does he do to get a place like this? Terence grinds his jaw.

45.

TERENCE That's what happens to terrorists here, they get big egos and have homes to match. JACK So if I get into trouble, how do I get out? TERENCE The only person in there is youhim. Do what you have to and just walk out, its as easy and as simple as that. You wont have any trouble, trust me. JACK Well, wish me luck! Terence smiles. TERENCE Oh, one last thing Jack. He is a lying son of a bitch. He will tell you any lies he can think of to try to stop you. Stop you and then kill you so don't give him the chance to fill your head with nonsense, alright? Jack nods, but is naturally concerned with this very strange thing he is being forced into. He gets out of the transport and cautiously walks to the front gate. There is a 20 foot long covered crossover with infrared and green sensors but no actual gate or door to block entry. Reluctantly Jack steps on to the crossover and the sensors scan him. The pulse Rifle in Jacks hand beeps and a dull red-flash emits from the side. Jack points it towards the ground and squeezes the trigger but nothing happens. Terence was right, it is deactivated. Slowly, jack proceeds to the house. Jack turns to look behind him but the transport with Terence in it has gone. JACK Man, this is nuts! Jack walks towards the front door. It has no lock so Jack opens the door and steps inside. SCENE 11. INT. MANISION. NIGHT. Jack creeps through the home. There is a light on down the hall and Jack can hear sounds coming from what looks like a kitchen.

46. For some reason Jack still holds the rifle and he rethinks that now, taking the small hand gun out from his pants. Quietly, he reaches the door and peers in. There is a man there that has his back to him, making a sandwich. Jack steps in and aims the gun. JACK Dont move! The man stops doing what he is doing and raise his hands in surrender. JACK Slowly, turn around! The man does as instructed. Jack knew he was going to see another version of himself but the actual sight still shocks him. SEVENTEEN Oh, Hi Jack, nice of you to drop by. Please dont shoot! Im just like you and I was in the same place as you not so long ago. But, That crazy black man out there, agent Jones, he has been lying to you the whole time! JACK Funny, he told me that youd say that! Seventeen nods. SEVENTEEN Sure, thats to be expected from a liar, more lies. I can prove it to you though, if youll let me? Jack is unsure. JACK He says youre a terrorist, that you kill people! You put his wife in a coma! Seventeen nods. SEVENTEEN Well, technically, Prime is a borderline terrorist, he did try to shoot Agent Jones in self defense and did shoot his wife by accident when she came home, but he, like I and you, we don't kill people.

47.

Jack is confused. JACK Huh? What? Seventeen motions behind Jack. SEVENTEEN Look behind you Jack, youll see what I mean. A male voice clears his throat from behind. Jack spins around to see two more versions of himself coming up the hallway. TWENTY-THREE Hes telling you the truth Jack. We all got suckered in with the terrorist tale. Agent Jones keeps sending in more and more of us to try to kill off Prime. JACK Whos prime? SEVENTEEN Prime is what we call the Jack Barrow who is from this world. It gets too confusing to call us all Jack even though that is what we are. So, Im Seventeen as I was the seventeenth Jack to be brought here to kill Prime. Behind you is Twenty-three and Forty-seven. Jack lowers the gun, taking this information in. JACK Wh-what number am I then? Seventeen smiles as he takes a bite from his sandwich. SEVENTEEN Congratulations, your officially our number fifty. Welcome to your new home! JACK This isnt my home! TWENTY-THREE Well, actually Jack. You got three choices. One, you stay a terrorist and leave here, going to the bad-lands where the CCI robot-heads cant trace you.

48.

TWENTY-THREE(cont'd) Two, you go back to Agent Jones who will put you in Jail for the rest of your life as a terrorist. Or three, you live here with us, no problems, no worries, lots of great company because you can talk to yourself till it drives you wild, and it will, believe me. So, those are your options.
JACK What about I do what he asked and shoot him, prime? What about that. Jones promised I could go home! SEVENTEEN He lied Fifty, he Lies all the time. JACK Im not fifty, Im Jack! This, this is bullshit! Seventeen nods, taking another bite from his sandwich. SEVENTEEN Yeah, life sucks and then you get transported to a mansion where you don't have to do anything ever except eat, drink and relax. Life totally sucks! Jack is unperturbed. JACK I want to see prime! I want to know who is lying and who is telling the truth. Seventeen and twenty-three nod to each other. SEVENTEEN Alright. Lets go and see him. They go upstairs to a large games room where there are three more Jacks. Two are playing pool and one is sitting at a desk. They all stop what they are doing and look up as Jack is brought in. SEVENTEEN Prime, this is our newest addition, Fifty. He wants to talk to you. We told him that the FBI agent is lying to him but he wants to hear it from you and to see it for himself.

49.

The man at the desk nods. PRIME Fair enough. So, Jack, Ill call you Jack as you probably arent too happy with the number-name right about now, knowing me like I do. Ahem, that was a little joke there. An ice-breaker. Alright. Well, what do you want to know first? JACK Are you a terrorist like Agent Jones says? Prime shakes his head. PRIME Its complicated Jack. Sit down, let me start from the beginning. Jack reluctantly sits with Prime on the couch. PRIME I got picked out in university by an FBI recruiter. My computer programming skills were tagged as interesting and I got to specialize in CCI coding. I knew of Jones in the bureau but never had much to do with him. JACK Wait, youre FBI as well? Prime smiles. PRIME Well, I'm retired now. Had too as Jones made it his life mission to kill me. But yeah, I was a fed just like him. JACK How could you go from being a good guy, to a terrorist? PRIME Well, you have to understand something. Here, a terrorist is someone who goes against what society decides is normal. If you play their game their way, then everything is fine. If you buck the system in any way, then youre considered a terrorist.

50.

JACK So you don't kill people then? PRIME No Jack, I don't kill people. JACK But what about Agent Jones wife, I saw the video file of you shooting her, trying to kill him? Prime sighs and nods. PRIME Yeah. I did do that. But it was an accident. See, Agent Jones found out I was trying to reprogram CCIs and render them inert for all intents and purposes for certain people who didn't want them anymore. He tried to stop me and when he threatened to arrest me, well, I fell back on my field-ops training and went to challenge him. The argument got heated, out of hand. Then he tried to kill me. His wife wasnt home when I was at his place and I never thought it would go like that. She came home unexpectedly and I got startled. It was a huge mess and a completely unexpected situation. Jack nods, understanding how that could come to be. PRIME Agent Jones blames me for his wifes condition and I swear, if I could do that day over I would, but I cant. Shes in a coma, its my fault. Its a tragedy of mammoth proportions and I cant change that. End of story. Jack rubs his chin. JACK But why didn't they arrest you? The video file shows you shooting her? Prime nods.

51.

PRIME Yes, yes it does, and I was arrested. But it was argued in court as self-defense as Agent Jones shot first. My attorney argued that I was pushed into the situation and there was mitigating circumstances which got me a suspended sentence. I had to retire from active service, which is kind of a blessing for me. JACK Blessing, how? PRIME Well, now I help people who want their CCI removed to get out of the city and go to live in the badlands. They come here and I help them to get free from the big-brother chip that is in their head. JACK But you still have the cci in you? PRIME Yes, I do, to maintain my cover here. If I disengage the chip, then I lose the house and that stops the other citizens from finding me to save them, plus theres also you lot to consider as well. A side door bursts open and a rather flamboyant Jack enters wearing pink pants, a flowery tank top and wearing make-up. FORTYONE Prime honey, we so got a problem darling, look. Prime takes the tablet-screen from Fortyone and swipes it. Fortyone smiles sweetly at Jack. FORTYONE Hi handsome, Im Fortyone. Jack is aghast. JACK You mean, theres a gay-me? Fortyone grins.

52.

FORTYONE Uh-huh! Terence thought he might appeal to my feminine side to help him kill prime, but no, hes shit-out-a-luck! Jack shudders as Fortyone winks to him. FORTYONE What, theres every type of us you know, gay, straight, mean, kind. All types exist. Jack nods. JACK I guess, just never thought of... you know. Fortyone grins in a very gay manner. FORTYONE Well, you wait till you see how good it is I can please you bigboy! And theres no guilt at all as technically youre only pleasing yourself, aye? Jack looks down. JACK Actually, Ill pass if its all the same to you. Fortyone grins. FORTYONE Fine, your loss sweet-cheeks! Prime looks up from the screen towards jack. He is angry. PRIME You went to a supply warehouse tonight didn't you? Jack nods. JACK Yeah, why? Prime hands the tablet over. PRIME Look!

53.

Jack plays the Me-tube news broadcast. A reporter is talking about a massacre at a local warehouse, that thirteen innocent people were brutally killed when an unknown man, presumably a terrorist was eventually taken into custody by the FBI. The FBI also arrested his accomplice, a female pretending to be on rotation while aiding and abetting the terrorists. There is cut footage of bloody corpses strewn about the warehouse. They show a close-up of Jacks face. There is a cut-away where Alice is being detained by peace-officers and transferred to FBItype agents. Jack is horrified. JACK That, that never happened! Prime nods. PRIME Of course it didnt. But look, you got my face on the news and they have linked me in to ongoing terrorist activities. You can be sure they will be here soon. Youve jeopardized us all, her too. JACK But Alice, I have to go and help Alice! Twentythree glares at Jack. TWENTY-THREE Unbelievable! Forty-nine of us have been here and managed to keep Alice safe by leaving her alone! You, dumb-ass, manage to frack that up in the first hour of your arrival. Way to go FIFTY! Jack gets up to leave. JACK I have to go, I have to try and help her! SEVENTEEN You could have helped her most by leaving her alone! Now look what youve done! You've single handedly rewritten her life by meddling in something that was never meant to be! She died in all our lives except this one! Think about it you jerk!

54.

SEVENTEEN(cont'd) You are the only reason Alice dies, every time!
Jack falls back into the sofa, a look of panic and dread on his face that he has jeopardized Alices life by his actions.. SEVENTEEN Where is Jones, Fifty? FIFTY! Is he nearby? He can help save her! Jack nods. JACK Yeah, hes just around the corner, in his car. But, but wont he know if I dont kill prime? Prime nods. PRIME Yes he will, eventually. But seventeen is right, hes about the only one that can get access to Alice now. I could have walked right in before but now that they will probably have me tagged as a terrorist. Im about as useless as the rest of you right now. Seventeen taps his cheek in thought. SEVENTEEN Maybe not. Maybe this will give us the opportunity to work together, as an army of many clones, if you will, that can work towards the common goal. Of getting rid of Jones by using Alice as the cover-story and bait. Twenty-three stands up then. TWENTY-THREE But she is already being used as bait. Clearly they have taken her into custody to draw Prime out so that they can take him down! Prime nods. PRIME Agreed. She is the bait and were the prey. So, this Alice of yours, she doesnt mean shit to me.

55.

PRIME(cont'd) But I get it that you guys have some pretty deep feelings for her. So, so I guess we all work together, as one. Deal?
Everyone concurs, much to Jacks relief. Prime goes to his desk and sits at the computer. He keys into the keyboard while talking to everyone. PRIME I can get in to the back-door of the FBI system and trace her at division headquarters. Theyll have her location logged in the system automatically. - alright there she is, holding two, east side, closest to the cafeteria. Prime gets up and looks at Jack. PRIME Fifty, you need to go back to Agent Jones. Tell him, shit, tell him anything you can think of to get him to come inside. In here, we can make a plan to get Alice. I cant get us into the FBI buildings now, not through the front door I dont think. But Jones can... Do you agree or do you have some other mindbendingly stupid plan to risk your girls life yet again? Jack shakes his head, deep in thought. JACK No, I got nothing. Ill go and get him. Oh, the alarm, youll deactivate it, right? Seventeen goes to the doorway. SEVENTEEN Ill deactivate it as soon as he comes to the crossover. Prime smiles flatly. PRIME Fifty, did you by any chance get a handgun, a projectile weapon from Agent Jones? Jack nods, showing the handgun.

56.

PRIME Alright, keep that on you and hidden. It will be the only weapon you have when we get inside the FBI precinct. Now go, talk to Agent Jones. Jack gets up and heads for the exit. SCENE 12. EXT. MANSION. NIGHT. Jack steps out on to the road, the transport is nowhere in sight. Jack walks briskly to the east. A pair of headlights illuminate the road and the transport shoots over to Jack, stopping abruptly. The door opens and Agent Jones gets out looking hopeful yet doubtful. TERENCE Well, did you do it? Jack looks hard at Terence. JACK Agent Jones, did you by any chance see the news feed about the supermarket where Alice works? TERENCE No, why? JACK The FBI reported over a dozen people got killed, by me! And they took Alice into custody, as a terrorist! TERENCE Bull - shit! Jack shakes his head. JACK No, its true. Check the news if you dont believe me. Terence brings up a screen in his car, he scrolls through the footage. From the start of the news, stories are all happy about loving, kind, fluffy things. TERENCE Man, I never watch the news. All those feel-good happy crappy stories. Rarely do we see anything of interest. Wait! Here it is.

57.

Terence sees the same broadcast as what Jack saw. He gets out of the transport and paces deep in thought. TERENCE Why the hell would the bureau do this? What is their endgame? Why was this broadcast on the news... it makes no sense? Unless, unless they want to draw the other you out, seeing as youre a terrorist here! Jack looks back to see Prime step out on to the front lawn of the mansion. JACK Agent Jones. We have to go and rescue her! Look, I messed up and I get it, I screwed up everything, but Alice is innocent, she doesn't deserve this! Terence wipes his brow in deep contemplation. TERENCE Why the hell didnt you just kill him? Why did you walk out and leave that son of a bitch alive? We could be going to get Alice now if you did what you were supposed too! Jack tries to reason with Terence. JACK Look, I think theres a solution that benefits everyone here, if youll give me the chance to talk you through it. TERENCE I'm listening gum-ball, but don't piss me off now as Im far from happy with you! Suddenly, several black transports round the corner, all with blue and red lights flashing. A SWAT truck follows them. The cars all stop and the men deploy, blocking the road some fifty metres away from Terences transport. TERENCE Guess our times up Jack.

58.

SWAT LEADER Agent Jones. You are charged with aiding and abetting terrorists. Place your hands on your head and drop to your knees! Terence and Jack crouch behind his transport as SWAT men take up positions with pulse-rifles. TERENCE Bull-shit! Guess the games up Jack, sorry kid but I might not be able to get you back home after all. JACK But I got a plan that will meet everyones needs Agent Jones! Terence looks hard at Jack. TERENCE How exactly? We cant run from here? What are you suggesting? Jack looks back at Prime, Prime is talking on his cell phone and turns away. JACK Look, we don't have time to go over the details, not here. You need to trust me and come inside the mansion. TERENCE Me, go inside his house! Hell no. Unless I can kill him that is. No, no way! Jack looks at the SWAT team. JACK Well, looks like they are here to arrest you, not me. So, either you follow me into the mansion and listen to my plan, which gets us all our ends, or you go to prison, classed as a terrorist. Its that simple! Terence considers his choices. TERENCE But I told you, the auto defense system will kill anyone but you. Jack shakes his head.

59.

JACK No, the system will be deactivated for you to come in, trust me! Terence considers this. SWAT LEADER Last chance Agent Jones. Come out or we will unload the pulse cannon and fire it onto your transport. Terence nods. TERENCE Alright, Im not going to prison for doing my job. And, Im not going to be blown up here either. If it kills me going through that security field then so be it! JACK Come on! The two men make a mad-dash run for the crossover. Pulse shots pepper the transport and road as the men run for their lives. Terence winces as he runs into the crossover and is scanned. Nothing happens to him as he runs through, much to his immense relief. The pulse-shots from the SWAT team hit the crossover and a force-field glows with the dents from the pulse-rifle shots that would normally kill the men. Prime motions for them to quickly follow him inside where he closes the door. PRIME Come inside, hurry! SCENE 12. INT. MANISION. NIGHT. Seventeen meets them in the living room. SEVENTEEN I re-armed the system, they cant come in while we have power on and theres also the back up generator. But, that generator wont last forever if they cut the main line. Prime is deep in thought as to what to do now. Terence is surprised to see more Jacks coming down the stairs.

60.

TERENCE I thought you were all dead, that he killed you. Prime scowls at Terence. POLICEMAN Im no murderer Agent Jones. Not by a long shot. TERENCE Well my wife begs to differ you son of a bitch! JACK Alright! Alright, we need to calm down and work this through together. We need to get out of here. We also need to get Alice and we need to get all these other Jacks back to their worlds. The other jacks converge on Agent Jones and surround him with a menacing glare. SEVENTEEN You need to calm your shit down Jones, or else we can take you out, right here, right now! PRIME Enough! All of you! Stand down! That's an order! Terence doesn't flinch as he stares down Seventeen. PRIME This SWAT raid is a complication. The plan of raiding the FBI building now wont work without Agent Jones assistance. If hes now classed as a terrorist, well, then were shit out of luck! JACK Look, how about this, we use the navigation system to get a gps reading of where we need to be to get into the fbi building, as close as possible to Alice. Then we use those dimension jumpers to go to a place in my world that lets us walk to her coordinates and then jump back right by her. Kind of leap-frogging between dimensions. That would work, wouldnt it?

61.

Prime and Terence exchange glances. Prime smiles and nods, hatching a plan. TERENCE Yeah, that could work. But we would have to be dead-certain we were in the right spot, or we would be dead if we phase inside a busy office full of FBI men or something. PRIME But the chance of finding an earth uninhabited like that, that's a long shot at best! Terence shakes his head. TERENCE No, not really. I got a database in my pda that has several possibilities. This could work. But what then, we get to her and do what? We cant bust her out. JACK No, we jump her and me and you Agent Jones, back to my earth where we stay, forever. JACK I cant leave here Jack! I got my wife here, she, she needs me. Jack grits his teeth. JACK No Agent Jones, you need her, I get that part. But she might never come out of that coma, ever! Now, what about if I could show you your wife on my world, Ive seen her, met her and talked to her. She, shes alive there, honest! TERENCE Debbies alive? Oh man! Terence mulls this thought over. TWENTY-THREE And what about us, we become what, chopped liver or something?

62.

JACK No, each other one of us can go back home, to their proper original homes. Or if not, they can stay here or go someplace else, I guess. Whatever! Twenty-three nods. TWENTY-THREE Whats your home like Fifty? Any better than this one? Jack sighs. JACK Well, up till about an hour ago I would have said no. But, now, I'm not that sure. Yeah, we have many problems there too, but at least there isnt the FBI after us in my world. The lights suddenly go out in the house, emergency subdued lighting kicks in. SEVENTEEN They cut the hard line. How long for the back up generator to fail? Jack, Prime and Terence look out the window and see the SWAT team launching an all-out assault on the front security fence. One SWAT man gets electrocuted by the Tesla Coil disguised in the front yard as a fountain. The Tesla coil dumping a high-voltage charge drains the back-up generator markedly so that the lights go out in the home, flicker and then come on again. PRIME Not long, the back up generator is designed to keep the system running for regular power outages, not an all-out assault by a SWAT team, we have only a small window of opportunity here. Fortyone rushes out with more black cards and pdas and hands them out to the others. Jack gets given a pda and is confused. JACK But I have these on already? Prime steps over and takes the pda, showing Jack how to use it.

63.

PRIME This unit can only safely handle two, maybe three people at a time as the coding and re-coding of frequencies and vibrations is a unbelievably huge task. Its not recommended to do more people than that or else you might get lost in another vibration. Jack nods. JACK Oh, I see. PRIME So, everyone, calibrate all units to the same series of alternateearths as Agent Jones. Jack, to use the unit you press the frequency scanner, like this. It will search for the next random earth closest in vibration to this one, or, you can enter a place you already visited like this, here, see. Only if the air is unbreathable of there is a solid object in the way of your jump, thats the only way the system will reject the jump and flash to warn you. Jack takes the pda from Prime and nods. JACK Ok, sounds simple enough. Prime laughs in a oh-really? way. PRIME Yeah, simple, right. Ive spent most of my life coding these units and CCI chips too for that matter. Believe me, it is far from simple. Jack scratches his head. JACK So why not recode the system to allow for people to not have cci chips and be outside the mindchip system? Prime nods.

64.

PRIME Thats my dream. But fear rules the government here, the president and world leaders are far too afraid to let people be free. With ccis, were all pawns in their big game Jack. Jack glowers. JACK Its not so different in my world, believe me! So... why not shut the system down then, turn it off completely? Prime considers this. PRIME Hmm. That would be hard to do, but its something I never really considered. Good idea though, to shut down the Nexus mainframe, the whole system, wed need to... A huge explosion makes the front door implode as SWAT rush the building. The back-up lights fail. PRIME We have to go, now, but where? JACK My world, we can regroup at my place, its safe! Terence looks at his pda. TERENCE That's the last location on the source list. Engage it now! They all select the same address and the cards on their wrists light up. Jack is a little slower in his ineptitude, the other Jacks and Terence disappear just moments before Jack. A SWAT man shoots, the pulse hits Jacks pda and his pda is shorted, it selects a random location as he phases out of frequency. SCENE 13. EXT. FIELD. NIGHT. Jack blinks at the crackling pda and he looks around him. He is standing on the verge of a field and a dirt road runs alongside him. There is no other Jack there nor Terence either. He shakes his head in anger and dismay as this was not supposed to happen. He looks at the frizzled pda and whacks it to no avail.

65.

JACK Oh, man! A horse-drawn wagon approaches in the darkness. Jack considers running or hiding but surrounding him is an empty and moonlit field, there is nowhere really to hide. Jack approaches the wagon and waves the driver down. JACK Hey, hello! The wagon pulls up, the horses snort and the driver, an African American man raises his cowboy hat to wipe a weary brow. BRIAN God damn! You escape your master, maggot? Howd you get loose without your shackles on? The man (Brian) draws a Winchester rifle and points it at Jack. He steps down from the wagon and approaches. Jack is confused and sees behind the wagon, there are many nearnaked white men being pulled along in a chain-gang. Jack lifts his hands up to speak and in surrender to the gunman. JACK Im, ah, sorry. Im not from around here and I think you might have me confused with someone else. Brian looks Jack up and down, he laughs angrily as another cowboy approaches from the rear of the chained men. Daniel is also an African-American cowboy. DANIEL Whats up Brian, whyd we stop? Brian glowers at Jack, then turns, quickly spinning the rifle around and cracks Jack over the head, knocking him to the ground. BRIAN Damn slave maggot got free from its master! Must be a high-price slave though, he can speak and talk proper. We done got ourselves a trophy slave for the markets Daniel! Heh-heh. Look Daniel, he even got real clothes like a regular black man! Daniel raises his hat as his horse fidgets. Jack tries to get up and is woozy from the blow to the head.

66.

DANIEL Lordy lordy, what next! Soon theyll be riding the stage coach and walking in the streets like regular folk! Brian takes a chain from the wagon and shackles Jack who is groggy and bleeding from his re-opened cut on his face. Jack is roughly pulled to the back of the chain-gang and locked in to the rear of the gang. Brian grins to himself as he looks at Jacks strange clothes. BRIAN Damn maggot! You a finely dressed slave! Maybe Ill be taken your clothes when we get you back to town. They look awful strange but I got me a hankering for some cool new threads and I say these might just fit me fine! Jack tries to speak and is punched in the face by Brian JACK Wait, wait, I... BRIAN Maggot! You speak only when your master asks you a question. Otherwise you shut yo white trash maggot mouth, you hear me! Dazed, Jack decides it might be better to stay quiet. Brian walks briskly back to the wagon. Another slave turns back to Jack and glares at him in his fancy clothes while he is barefoot and in a loin-cloth. MAN Yo best shut yo mouf nless yun want mo beatins. Damn maggot, you one stoopid dressed up white-maggot, das fo shore! The wagon jerks into movement pulling the weary men along behind them. Daniel follows up the rear of the chain-gang on horseback as a rear guard. Jack shuffles along, chained to the gang and wonders how on earth this all came to be. From behind them, an explosion of light makes Jack turn and look with hope that a rescue is somehow on the cards. Jack cant see who has come to save him but does draw the interest from Daniel, who has also looked at the bright flash of light.

67.

DANIEL Best you be looking straight ahead Maggot. Brian! Hey, Brian, theres someone else back there, on the road! Brian pulls the wagon to a halt. He climbs down and takes his rifle with him, standing with Daniel at the rear of the gang. Within moments, Terence walks up and sizes up the situation, seeing Jack shackled to the gang. Brian is cautious and sinister in his demeanor. BRIAN You lost Mister? Brian and Daniel look at the fancy suit Terence is wearing out in the field, alone at night. TERENCE I was looking for him. Terence points to Jack. Brian looks at Jack and Terence and then shakes his head. BRIAN That slave is our property now. We found him wandering free, fair and square. And, we got the guns here, right Daniel? So, we be taking him back with us. Terence reaches into his coat to draw his side-arm but both Daniel and Brian cock their Winchester rifles and point them at him. BRIAN Thats a mistake, mister. Terence stops his draw, and nods. TERENCE Alright. Where are you taking him? Daniel grins. DANIEL The slave sales are tomorrow on Main Street. Be there early for a bid on this fine, strong specimen here. Daniel kicks Jack in the shoulder, sending him into the other slaves.

68.

Daniel keeps his gun trained on Terence as Brian returns to the wagon and makes them move off. Terence looks on in anger. TERENCE Ill get you out in a bit Jack, just hang in there! Jack looks back, bloodied and bruised, dazed and confused as he is yanked along the track once more. SCENE 14. EXT. SLAVE SALES. MORNING. Jack is asleep, Daniel hauls Jack to his feet from a weary feverish-sleep. Bruised and battered he blinks, trying to get a grip on where he is. DANIEL Wake up slave! You and your fancy threads gonna fetch us some extra money for sure. Now, stand up straight and make sure you talk real clear when asked. Folks aint seen no slave maggot that can talk proper like you before, thats for sure! Jack glowers at Daniel. JACK Im not a slave! Daniel raises a hand to hit Jack and then reconsiders. DANIEL Best you not be bleeding all over yourself for the sale, huh? Lucky for you, talkin back to yo master like that! Daniel pulls Jack forwards roughly by his shackled wrists and leads him up the steps to a stage where another skinny near-naked white man is being sold for forty Dollars. AUCTIONEER Going twice... Sold for forty dollars to the fine dressed man in the sharp looking black suit... Number... Two seven five, why thank you Doctor Harrington, sir. Jack blinks about him, taking in the absurdity of the situation. The town is like a wild-west set up.

69. There are horses tethered to the stands in front of a saloon across the street. Everyone present is African American and all are dressed in differing styles of wildwest-America. Cowboys, businessmen, fancy-dressed women twirling parasols in the morning sun. Daniel pulls the sleeves of both arms up on Jacks shirt, the crowd go ohh-ahh. Daniel lifts the shirt over Jack's chest and the crowd again are very interested as Jack is turned around to show off his body. The auctioneer glares at Daniel. AUCTIONEER Dang it Daniel! You know under state law, article seven for the Confederated States of America, we cant sell no slaves without brands here! That will get us into too much trouble with the government and we cant have no marshals here, not now! Daniel grins. DANIEL Well, ok. But, you never had no slave that can talk proper here have you. Well, come on maggot, talk to your master! Daniel punches Jack in the side, winding him. Jack coughs. JACK I told you already, Im not a slave! The crowd are shocked and in awe. They ooh and ahh. AUCTIONEER Impressive Daniel. You really outdone yourself. So, can he say anything else? Daniel grins. DANIEL I reckon so! Talk maggot! Talk like a real person. Daniel pounds into Jack again, knocking him to his knees. JACK Go to hell! Daniel considers hitting Jack again and then breaks into a smile, aware of the value of the sale he has and not wanting to overly-damage the merchandise.

70.

DANIEL And such spirit too. Hes a feisty little slave is this one! Must be worth a whole lot of money to someone out there. The auctioneer contemplates Jack and all it implies. AUCTIONEER Daniel. You best not be getting me into grief for this or so help me...alright, Ill bid fifty Dollars myself! Sudden calls out from the crowd raise the bids to 60, 70, 80, 90, 95, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 dollars. The auctioneer smiles at the thought of the commission he will get. AUCTIONEER Two hundred dollars! Well, Ill be. Going once for two hundred dollars... Going twice for two hundred dollars... Third and final.. A sudden call comes from the rear of the crowd. TERENCE Three hundred dollars! The crowd turn and stare to the back of the group and look at the new-blood in the frenzy to acquire such a sought after slave. The previous bidder is annoyed but goes up to 320 TERENCE Four hundred dollars! The crowd whisper in earnest amongst themselves. Clearly, this level of bidding is unheard of. The previous bidder shakes his head - he is out and annoyed at the loss of the sale. AUCTIONEER Four hundred dollars. Im fairly bid four hundred dollars for this here slave. Any other bids? For Four hundred dollars. Going once... Going twice for four hundred dollars. Are you all done, all silent... SOLD, for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS to the gentleman in the grey suit. My, oh-my!

71.

Terence pushes through the crowd. He is still dressed strangely in his FBI suit and the crowd whisper and point. He takes a wad of money from his jacket as he looks at the chain that secures Jack. Daniel salivates at the thought of all the money he is about to get. Terence counts it out and hands it to Daniel. Daniel checks the bank-notes to make sure they are real. Yes its all Confederated States Of America legal tender money. The remaining wad Terence puts into his jacket pocket. DANIEL Pleasure doing business with you mister. Terence smiles flatly. TERENCE Ill be on my way with my slave if you don't mind. Daniel places a hand on Terences arm. Terence looks down at it like it is most-unwelcome and Daniel quickly withdraws it. DANIEL Why rush sir. We got lots more good slaves here. Most not so fine as the one you paid so handsomely for mind you, but we got many more bargains to be had. I can do you a great deal, oh, for a fair price, naturally. Terence looks with disgust at Daniel. TERENCE Thanks, but Im afraid I must decline. Jack, come on, lets go. Terence walks off, Jack in tow and they walk quickly and quietly away. JACK What the hell is this? Terence looks over his shoulder to make sure they aren't being followed as they round a corner. TERENCE Looks like this world has the blacks as the slave-traders and not the whites like what usually happens.

72.

JACK But its like cowboy times, did we go back in time for something? TERENCE No. I guess seeing as the whites are slaves here, the ones that invented or created things to evolve our known civilization never made it and that has repressed their development here. Like I told you. There are all types of worlds in the multiverse. Now, walk fast and shut up. JACK Hey, how did you get your hands on that money? TERENCE Oh, I mightve robbed the bank, just a little. Best hurry up as I think weve been found out. A sheriff is running towards the crowd. He is pointed to the direction Terence and Jack are going. A group of men begin to run after them. TERENCE Damn! I was hoping to get to where I knew we would be safe. We could phase into any possible thing here in your world. Still, we got no choice. You ready? Jack tries his pda. It blinks and shows garbled information till Terence hits it quite hard with his hand. It goes clear and resets. There isnt enough time to wait as the pursuers are closing in. Terence scans Jacks cards on his wrist and uses his pda to phase them both into Jacks homeearth. The crowd approach and begin to fire pistols as the men disappear in a blinding flash of light. The sheriff and gunslingers all gasp with fright when Jack and Terence vanish in broad daylight before them. SCENE 15. EXT. ROAD. DAY. Jack and Terence jump back into Jacks world, right in the middle of a major road. Cars honk, tires screech and cars spin sideways, narrowly avoiding crashing as the drivers try in vain to not hit these two men suddenly standing in the middle of a busy road.

73.

JACK Shit, MOVE! Jack quickly pushes Terence to the side of the road. The men pause on the sidewalk to gather their breath as angry drivers glare at them. JACK Thanks, pfff, Agent Jones, thanks for coming to get me. Terence wheezes from the fright and sudden run. TERENCE Call me - Terry, and youre welcome! Jack nods, holding his sides as he looks about and nods, recognizing some of the stores and road signs. JACK Alright. I know where we are. We can catch a cab back to my place, its not too far. Jack flags down a passing taxi and they both get in. SCENE 16. JACKS HOUSE. DAY. Jack and Terence enter Jacks house. The other Jacks are there, lounging around, watching tv, playing with Rufus. There is a lot of food been and being cooked, coffee made. PRIME Hey, youre back. We were beginning to worry. Jack nods, taking in the bomb-site that was his once-clean home. JACK Yeah, sorry, my pda got fried when we left the mansion and I got shunted to another crazy earth. It was all western and weird. Whites were slaves and blacks ruled. How bizarre! Forty-one grins.

74.

FORTYONE You shouldve seen us! We jumped from our mansion to this worlds one and there was this fat guy, boning this woman, we jumped right next to them! It was hilarious! I never seen that before, I can tell you! Prime flatly smiles. PRIME Alright Fortyone, settle down! Forty-one grimaces at Prime. FORTYONE So, does this mean that fifty is the new prime then, seeing as this is his world? Everyone pauses to consider. JACK No, that will just get way too confusing. Lets just keep the status quo for now. Seventeen grins at twentythree. SEVENTEEN Status quo. Bodaciously excellent band dude! TWENTY-THREE Awesomely excellent alright! They both make air-guitar gestures and sounds. PRIME Guys? Do you mind? SEVENTEEN Whatever you want. TWENTY-THREE Whatever you like. SEVENTEEN Whatever you say. TWENTY-THREE You pay your money SEVENTEEN And make your choice.

75.

Jack grins. JACK Seriously, this isnt helping. Funny though. Seventeen nods, grinning as he takes up a portrait of Alice. SEVENTEEN These are nice photos of Alice. She looks pretty in this one in particular. Jack nods to the picture that Seventeen holds up. JACK Yeah, shes a photographer, has her own studio -had- um, well. Yeah, its a great photo. One of my favorites. Seventeen nods in agreement. SEVENTEEN Uh-huh. Maybe I can get a copy. My Alice was a school teacher and the only photos I have of her are class portraits. She, she never liked being in photos. Jack smiles. JACK (MORE) Yeah, I know what you mean. It took forever for me to get her to sit in these shots. But she sure loves to take pictures. She even dropped out of teaching here to take up the photography studio when people kept asking for her photos. Sure, I can get you all copies of anything you want. TWENTY-THREE Well, Id actually like to take Alice back to my world with me. Thats what I want. I cant stand to lose her again. But, I guess you all want to keep her too. Right? Jack glares at twenty-three. JACK Shes not a thing any of us can keep.

76.

JACK(cont'd) Its going to be her choice what she does and hers alone! We have to respect that, period!
PRIME Even if she doesnt choose you, fifty? Jack nods. JACK Even if she doesn't choose me. We cant force her and we cant fight over her. We just have to give it over and let whatever happens, happen. The only priority we have right now is to get her safe, agreed? They all nod - agreed! Terence pours himself a coffee. TERENCE So, whats the plan Jack? Jack goes to his desk and turns his computer on. JACK Prime, come and check the gps grid reference here with your knowledge of the FBI building in your world. Check for a match so that we know where to get too. Prime sits, he puts a usb flash-drive into the computer and enters data. He nods, smiling. PRIME Excellent. Its a match! If we have to we can jump back from our world to this one. But the better idea is to jump to a clear-field type world. That way theres no chance of getting into trouble. Terence nods. TERENCE The world we just came from was fairly backwards in comparison. I doubt theyd have a FBI set-up in that world. Jack nods.

77.

JACK Agreed. And they are also very trigger-happy there. Lots of cowboys and slavesn stuff, well need to be careful. Prime nods. PRIME So we cant let any of our technology fall into their hands. All pulse rifles and pdas need to stay accounted for, got it? SEVENTEEN But what if they moved her? Alice was in the building last night, but, what if they moved her since? Terence and Prime exchange glances. TERENCE I doubt it. If they are using her as the bait to draw us out then they will keep her secure and in a place where they can try to intercept us. Prime nods. TERENCE Best guess is they will try and ambush us when we get there. But, we will have the surprise factor as they wont be expecting us to appear inside the building. My guess is theyll be expecting a text-book two-pronged assault, forwards and rear. TWENTY-THREE Got any more guns here fifty? Jack shakes his head -no. JACK Sorry, I dont believe in guns being in the home. Twenty-three nods. TWENTY-THREE Yeah, I used to think that too. But, we need guns if were going to get Alice back.

78.

TERENCE The pulse weapons will work in the FBI building, they don't block them in case of an incursion like what were about to do. Still, keep the bullet firing gun hidden and as a last resort. We cant let them know we got it till we really have no other choice. JACK Prime, when we left your place last night you were saying about taking down the nexus computer? Prime sighs. PRIME Yes. The Nexus mainframe is the primary feeder controlled by the government. It feeds all the slave-frames globally to upload into the population. Getting to it though, is damn near impossible. TERENCE Thats located twelve floors below the white house. Wed never get in without above-top-secret clearance. Prime nods. PRIME Thats why I never really considered it. And, Id need to speak to Wanderer first. To make sure we were doing the right thing. TERENCE Access to Wanderer is not quite so hard, Hes located below the FBI building. But why Wanderer? Hes been no use to anyone in what - four decades? JACK Im sorry, who is this wanderer? Prime sits on the desk, tapping his feet slowly back on the side.

79.

PRIME What Im about to tell you all is above-top-secret. No loose lips, understand? Wanderer is the original off-worlder. He came to our Earth as a spiritual guru from a very advanced alternateearth. His earth is based on peace, love and free-will. They are the ultimate of what we were trying to be. His world is where we got hold of the pdas and wrist-cards from. Pulse weapons came from there too. Mind you, they were used as mining tools on his world but we made guns from them. JACK So why seek him out? PRIME We Took Wanderers pda and cards when we deemed his people to be a threat. So we invaded his world with a stealth team to acquire technology, we wanted to be just like their civilization - maybe even better! But, they are much more advanced than us. They don't use CCIs, they don't need them. We wouldve had to wait hundreds of years to catch them up by (MORE) natural evolution. Jack nods, understanding more. JACK So you created the cci interface to jump up the ladder. Prime nods. PRIME Yep. So for fifty years weve been raiding other smarter earths and acquiring their technologies. But I do need to check with Wanderer, that this wont backfire on us. Hes kind of super smart. Jack sighs and nods in agreement. JACK So, that world of yours is just like mine after all.

80.

JACK(cont'd) Wed do exactly the same if our FBI ever got hold of these pulse weapons and pdas too.
PRIME Well, first we get Alice, then we go see Wanderer, they wont be expecting that. JACK Okey-dokey. So, Ill take the cutlass with as many of me that can fit. I suggest taking several cabs as it would just look weird to anyone else, so many of me in one car. FORTYONE Ohh, we could play dress up darling, go all secret-squirrel aye? I love to dress up! TWENTY-THREE Youre such a dress-up queen! Um, Fifty, well need money for the cabs too. Jack scowls. JACK Right, now Im paying for you lot as well, nice! TWENTY-THREE Oh well, thats the price of rescuing Alice, which need we remind you, is all YOUR FAULT! Jack concedes and pulls money from his wallet, sharing out the cab fares to some of his twins. SCENE 17. EXT. FBI H/Q. DAY. The cutlass pulls up to a halt just on the side of the FBI building. Several cabs converge on the same spot and everyone gathers together. There is no camera on them and the street is relatively quiet. PRIME Ok, so this is it. We jump from here to the western-earth, walk about forty paces east of this position and then jump back to my world, fingers crossed, Alice will be just about there.

81.

They all engage their pdas. Jacks again is not quite responding and he smacks it to reset the display. It seems ok so he presses engage. They all disappear in a hot white bubble of light. SCENE 18. EXT. FIELD. DAY. The men all appear in a cornfield, standing amid rows and rows of tall corn. PRIME Excellent! Everyone present and accounted for? Everyone looks at each other. It seems correct. TERENCE Ok, lets do this. They step east, counting the paces. Eventually, Prime stops. PRIME Well, hope we did this right. We have no gps here so its gonna be a best guess. They re-engage their pdas for Prime and Terences earth. Everyone disappears from the cornfield. SCENE 19. INT. FBI H/Q. DAY. (MORE) Everyone appears inside the hallway of the FBI division headquarters. Pulse weapons are drawn and everyone looks about to make sure they are safe. The hall is empty. Phew! The door opposite Terence is marked Holding five. Terence motions for them to move down to holding two, where Alice was yesterday. At holding-two, Terence stops and looks at the security pad that requires an access card. He looks annoyed. TERENCE My credentials will have been revoked, yours too. How we gonna get in there without raising suspicion? Prime grins. PRIME I have many back-up identity codes for situations such as these.

82.

PRIME(cont'd) I was one of the team who programmed this whole place, remember?
Prime takes a card from his pocket and scans the lock. A digital readout confirms access granted to an Agent Sky Walker. Prime pushes the door open and Jack and Terence enter the room, followed by the rest of the crew. SCENE 20. INT. HOLDING TWO. DAY. Alice looks up as Terence and Jack enter the room. She was sitting at a table and is bored out of her mind. ALICE Finally! Oh-no. Youre the terrorist guy. And you, Mr FBI! How come I got arrested? Alice then focusses on the other Jacks and then cringes. ALICE Oh my Lord! This cant be happening. Jack kneels by her. JACK Alice, Im so sorry. If I had stayed away from you, well, youd still be safe. But now that I got you involved, well, youve been branded a terrorist because of me. ALICE What? What do you mean? I, Im no terrorist! Terence smiles and nods. TERENCE And neither are we Alice. They are saying we are for some reason and its not right, but, were here to get you free and take you somewhere safe. Alice looks at the multiple versions of Jack. ALICE Are you all like copies or something. Theres no way you can be all from the one family.

83.

TWENTY-THREE Clones, just like in Star wars! Seventeen cuffs Twenty-three over the head. SEVENTEEN Clones, seriously? Twenty-three looks dismayed. TWENTY-THREE What, its a cool movie! Besides, its an easier explanation right now than, you know... Jack looks at Terence and Prime. JACK How do we get to that Wanderer guy? Prime looks at his pda. He has a real-time overlay of people moving in the building. PRIME Theres minimal movement on this floor. We cant chance the lifts, theyre too central and frequented. We go back to the hall, head left and make for the end door, the stairs there will lead us down four flights. TERENCE Ok people, lets move silently. Any sign of trouble then make for the rendezvous point back at Jacks place. Lets keep everyone safe. Move out! JACK Does this seem a little too easy to you? Terence nods. Prime glares at Jack. PRIME This is standard operating procedure, they will be protecting the front and rear doors. We need to hurry before someone comes here to check on Alice. Prime leads the way. The hallway is clear of people and the group quickly make for the stairway. The quiet and disused stairway brings them quickly and safely down four flights.

84.

SCENE 21. INT. WANDERERS CELL. DAY. The group come to a steel door in the middle of a long hallway. Terence and Prime look at the lock on the door. TERENCE Got a better swipe card for this one? It needs a level five regional directors clearance or higher. Prime nods, looking through a wad of swipe cards. PRIME Yeah, I got Director Anders card here. Terence puts his hand on Primes arm. TERENCE Wait! Anders got demoted last week when he had an affair with another agent and it turned ugly. Prime is unaware and frowns. PRIME Ok? Seriously? Um, what about regional director Stanthorpe, is she still around? Terence nods. Prime finds another card, swipes that. The card reader displays Access granted Regional Director Stanthorpe. The door opens inwards and the team pile into the room. Inside there is a glass wall and a large cell that has a lounge suite, bed, bathroom. Standing in the cell with his hands clasped behind him is a man. He is very old, long hair flowing down his back and is standing at the glass wall, as if he is patiently awaiting their arrival. Prime and Terence approach the glass door. Prime swipes his card and the glass door opens in the glass wall. Everyone enters the cell. Wanderer smiles and looks happy to see them all. PRIME Wanderer, its good to see you again. Wanderer nods courteously.

85.

WANDERER Yes it is Agent Barrow. Too many years have flown by since your last visit. PRIME I know. This is Agent Jones and these are all, well, me and that is Alice. Wanderer smiles warmly to all. WANDERER So, you have been busy Agent Barrow. Are you all well? Prime nods. PRIME Yes. But - well, we want to ask for your help on something? Wanderer smiles knowingly. WANDERER Go on, Im listening. PRIME Were considering the possibility of shutting down the Nexus Mainframe, thats the proprietary system that controls the implants. Wanderer smiles. WANDERER Ah, finally! I know of the system you speak of. Go on... TERENCE Will it work, deactivating the chips? Will it create panic or havoc or something? I dont want to do something that will hurt or kill people. Terence nods at Prime, rethinking his opinion of him a little. Wanderer seems pleased at the tone of the conversation. WANDERER Why should it be so? Do you really believe that it is the implant that creates peace and love in your people? I can tell you this isnt so Agent Jones.

86.

PRIME But will it be safe, to unplug us all? WANDERER You need to have more faith in yourselves Agent Barrow. The chips were never needed to begin with. If your government had let me, I could have helped teach you all to live and love in peace and harmony, without all the hooplah of implants and fear based manipulation that has driven you to the point of paranoia. PRIME Yes. Im sorry. But we want to fix this. Its just...We cant get access to the system though, without your help. JACK I dont get it. How exactly can he help? Terence smiles at Prime. PRIME Try and touch Wanderer Jack, see if you can. Ill bet anything you like that you cant even put a finger on him! Wanderer smiles and raises his hand. Jack frowns and casually tries to touch Wanderer. As his hand approaches, a force blocks his effort and try as he might, straining all his energy, Jack cannot touch Wanderer. WANDERER You see, you need not implants to be safe, this is all part of the lessons you will learn. Harm not, and yee will not be harmed. JACK Ok, So, shall we go then? We can all head back to my place and then make a plan with Wanderer to get to Washington when Alice is safe. WANDERER We dont have long before they get here. We should go now.

87.

TERENCE Why, what do you mean? Wanderer approaches the glass door and focusses his attention on it. The access panel beeps and the door opens by seemingly magic forces. PRIME Wait, you, you could unlock that door by yourself? But, but youve been here for fifty years in this cell, why? Wanderer smiles as he walks to the steel door. WANDERER You cannot imprison the unimprisonable Agent Barrow. I have merely been waiting for the time when your people come to seek their liberation and freedom. Now that you are here, I need not stay confined any longer. Prime is shocked by this revelation. Wanderer uses his force to unlock the steel door, it also flies open as footsteps come rushing down the hall. TERENCE Were too late! Wanderer smiles. WANDERER Are we? PRIME We cant use the pdas down here, the western-world doesnt have an underground facility like this to shift too. Jack, does your world have this? JACK I - I dont know. Im just a school teacher. TERENCE We cant risk it! What do we do? Wanderer smiles. WANDERER Have a little faith. Fbi men take up positions in the hall, guns drawn.

88.

FBI AGENT Do not move! Wanderer steps into the hall and raises a hand quietly and calmly, walking towards the fbi. WANDERER Follow me everyone, all will be well. Fbi begin to fire their weapons. Wanderer has a large forceshield that absorbs the shots and he walks forwards, the others follow nervously. When Wanderer is almost upon the fbi, the men there are forced backwards by an invisible energy. WANDERER There appears to be too many of us for the elevator, shall we take the stairs? PRIME Yes, thats how we came down. Wanderer nods and forces the fbi to retreat to the stairwell. The elevator opens with more fbi men, guns drawn. Wanderer waves his hand and the elevator closes and Wanderer keeps the elevator closed as they make for the stairs. SCENE 22. INT. FBI FOYER. DAY. The group exit the stairwell, they reach the foyer and stop in the atrium where security guards normally vet and secure everyone who comes and goes. One of the senior agents presses a button on his radio mic and talks to an unseen person. Security raises an alarm and massive steel doors close over, blocking their escape to the outside. Dozens of gun toting agents and security guards converge on the group, firing indiscriminately. FBI AGENT Sir, there has been a serious development. Yes, they have acquired the woman. But - they also have liberated the Wanderer... I dont know how sir... no, they appeared as expected - but we didnt expect them to free the Wanderer as well... Sir? But... Yes Sir. All Agents, the Wanderer cannot be allowed to leave the building. Do whatever it takes to stop him! Code RED! Repeat, Code RED!

89.

ALICE This is nuts! Jack takes her hand in his. She smiles as he looks into her eyes. JACK Dont worry, I got ya! Youll be safe with me. Twenty-three places wrist pads on Alice and goes to code them to his pda. Jack intercedes. JACK No offence, but I got this. Alice stays with me. Twenty-three reluctantly nods as Jack calibrates the wristpads to his pda. Wanderer smiles while maintaining an energy field around the group as shots pepper them. WANDERER Agent Barrow, now would be a good time to get us out of here. I cant maintain this indefinitely! Fortyone places two wrist-cards on Wanderer as he focusses on keeping them all safe. He codes the wrist-pads to his pda and nods to Prime. PRIME Alright, we cant go outside from here so lets go back to the cornfield and then move back to the rendezvous point. Engage! Everyone engages their pdas. Wrist-pads glow gold and increase in intensity. FBI AGENT Stop them - NOW! Another fbi agent rushes up with a rocket-launcher-pulse cannon and fires. The huge concussion blast is a lot for Wanderer, the dent from the massive concussion in the forcefield makes Jack push into Terence, his finger on the pda brushes from the western-world location to Jacks home-world location. Everyone disappears in a blinding white light. Jack and Alice reappear alone and apart from the group in Jacks home-world FBI atrium. Power goes out momentarily from the spacial anomaly of Jack and Alice appearing.

90.

Agents and security guards who were quietly going about their usual business are suddenly alarmed, they draw weapons and are in shock as they perceive the appearance of two random people to be a threat. Alice and Jack, having no protection lift their hands up in surrender. Jack is quickly forced face down to the ground, Alice is as well. Things did not go as planned and Jack grimaces as he is handcuffed and pulled up. SCENE 23. EXT. CORNFIELD. DAY. Prime, the other Jacks, Terence and wanderer appear in the cornfield. Prime and Terence notice that Jack and Alice are not there. TERENCE Oh, youve got to be kidding me! What is it with him, getting her into trouble every time! Prime uses his pda. PRIME They jumped direct back to his world. That puts him in the atrium still. Damn! Alright, We proceed back to the car. We can try and get to him then. They walk thirty paces through the cornfield, back to their original starting point and then jump back to Jacks world. SCENE 24. INT. FBI FOYER. DAY. The group appear outside in the street. Jacks car is there. Terence walks over and looks inside the atrium. Prime is right behind him. The others stay back. TERENCE Theres Jack, and Alice being taken into custody. OK, I got me an idea. You hang back as you both cant be seen inside, Ill see if my i.d is able to get me through security. Prime grimaces. PRIME Thats risky. Your credentials might not work here. I didnt design this system and Jack is just a school teacher here. You might not make it in.

91.

Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah, but I gotta try. We cant keep jumping in and out of this place without raising suspicions. His arrival here will already be caught on camera and we cant let his pda and pulse-pistol be confiscated. Prime agrees. PRIME Ok. But if you dont make it back to the rendezvous point in ten minutes, then were coming back for you our way, got it? Terence nods as he walks in to the atrium. Prime watches through the glass windows from the street. Terence steps up to the check-in security guard. FBI AGENT Credentials and weapon please, then step through the body scanner. TERENCE Uh, no weapon. Terence scans his FBI identification. The card comes up on (MORE) screen to the FBI agent and displays Agent Jones picture and FBI credentials but is flashing DECEASED. The fbi agent quickly draws his gun and aims it at Terence. FBI AGENT Do not move - Security -code Tango, repeat code Tango! Terence is taken into custody and handcuffed. Prime sees, Terence is led away. Prime angrily returns to the others. SCENE 23. INT. HOLDING TWO. DAY. Jack and Alice have been seated, both have one hand cuffed to the chairs and are looking quite annoyed. The pda, pulsepistol, handgun and Jacks wallet are laid out in front of them. ALICE So, youre really looking out for me quite well then.

92.

ALICE(cont'd) Ive gone from sitting here on this chair alone, to be handcuffed on this chair with you. And how did all this come to be again? Oh yes, thats right. I got arrested because of you. Gee, its so nice to be here, with you. Thanks ever so much!
Alices sarcasm is duly noted. JACK I cant tell you how sorry I am Alice, honestly. Alice sighs and relents. ALICE Yeah, well. Life has been a bit boring lately. This is the most excitement I've had in years. Wait till my Mom and Dad find out, theyll have kittens for sure! Jack smiles. JACK Yeah, Martha will have one more reason to hate my guts! George, well, hell probably laugh it off, over time. (MORE) Alice tries to understand Jacks familiarity with her parents. ALICE I still don't get how you know so much about me. And this crazy clone stuff, whats up with that? Jack sighs. JACK Well, its like this... The the and and door opens and a fbi agent enters the room, cutting of conversation. He (Agent EDWARDS) is very professional fbi-like in his attitude. He looks through the wallet examines to gun and pda briefly. EDWARDS Ok. So, Mr. Jack Barrow. I see from your drivers licence and teachers id that you reside here in LA. Hmm.

93.

EDWARDS(cont'd) Explain to me in detail, if you dont mind, how you and your partner here magically teleported yourselves into our atrium. And, what are these devices?
Alice speaks first. ALICE Oh, were not together. I mean, not in that way, well, not in any way if you know what I mean. I just met him yesterday on rotation and Captain Jack here Seems to be nice and all but I have no idea what, why, where and when for that matter about him so you really could just let me go. Alices rambling makes Agent Edwards press his knuckles down on the table and lean in, staring straight into Alices face. She feels the intimidation and stops talking. EDWARDS Is Captain Jack your code name? Or are you really a captain of some clandestine secret military group? JACK Neither. ALICE Sorry. I called him Captain Jack because his name is Jack Barrow, like in that movie the Pirates of the Mediterranean. Edwards frowns. EDWARDS You mean Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Alice nervously laughs. ALICE Why, why do you guys both get the names wrong? Its like, my favorite movie. Ive seen Pirates of the Mediterranean hundreds of times on the MoPro and it is Jack Barrow! The door opens and Terence is led in, cuffed, by another fbi agent who quietly whispers to Agent Edwards.

94. Terences belongings are in a plastic bag and are handed to Edwards who looks at the pulse-pistol, false id and wad of money. EDWARDS Its a good forgery, but you need accuracy when making fakes. Federal Bureau of Intelligence? And money from the Confederated States of America. Its good but its far from good enough!. So I want to know how you inserted a agency id into your bogus card? And more importantly, I want to know why you are impersonating a FBI agent? And you know what the last thing I want to know is? Well, I was with Terry Jones when he died. He was a good man and I really dont like you impersonating him, whoever the hell you are! So start talking! Edwards glowers, looking menacing at Terence. TERENCE I know who you are. And I really am Terence Jones. Just not the Terence Jones you probably remember, thats all. Edwards smiles flatly. EDWARDS And who am I then? TERENCE Gary Edwards. If Im right, you live in a condo on Argyle Street, married to Cynthia and are allergic to bee stings. Howm I doing so far? Edwards nods. EDWARDS Alright. So you profiled me, big deal! Now, how do you two explain appearing from nowhere in our atrium, while you and another man that looks exactly like you show up outside on our cctv? For a dead man and a twin with magical powers, you two don't seem that bright. And you, miss, you need to come up with a better story than these two or so help me...

95.

Jack sighs. JACK Look. Im from this world. Hes from another and so is she. I got pulled in to kill myself which is really not me but another me, so to speak, in his world. But, it got all messed up and the thing is, I really am a good guy. I mean, Im not a bad person and yet here I am, arrested in an fbi lock up ... Edwards groans. EDWARDS All right, shut-up! You, speak. ALICE Um, Im as lost as you. I was on rotation at the food warehouse where I am posted. I was almost ready to go home last night but he, Jack, came in and I freaked out as he had no cci and I thought oh-my-gosh, hes a terrorist, which he claims he isnt but who doesnt have a cci right? I mean... Edwards is angrier. EDWARDS Shut-up, the both of you! Alright Jones, or whoever you are, last chance and dont try my patience any further! Terence blinks, thinking and then nods. TERENCE Ok. well. We are really a covert black-ops team. EDWARDS How dark? TERENCE Oh, very. Very, very dark. EDWARDS What is your mission?

96.

EDWARDS Our mission - is - we had to test a new defence protocol and see if youre peoples readiness for a hostile invasion is sufficient. Those are just props by the way. But you guys did good, arrested us and all. So, we need to go... EDWARDS Bullshit! What do these things do? Last chance! Terence sighs and looks down. JACK The thing is... TERENCE Dont say a word jack! ALICE Excuse me, but I need to use the rest-room. JACK Its a radio transmitter, thats all. Just turn it on, press the button there on the side, scroll down, hit the engage button on the left to talk, its that simple. Edwards looks at the pda. He turns it on, presses the buttons but doesn't hear anything. EDWARDS We have transmission jammers on in this building so your device wont send or receive and transmissions if thats what youre hoping. Do you still maintain this is just a radio of some kind? JACK Yeah, push the side button and it will verify what Im telling you. TERENCE Dont do it jack, you don't know where this will end up! EDWARDS I don't hear anything! Why is there no static if it is just a radio?

97.

JACK I told you! You need to press the engage button, on the side. Otherwise it stays silent. Edwards looks dubious at Jack. He reluctantly presses the engage button. Both Alice and Jacks wrists glow gold. EDWARDS What the hell is that? A distress call? Stop it immediately! TERENCE Damn it Jack! A blinding flash erupts in the room, the power goes out for a moment and the light overhead explodes. Jack and Alice have disappeared. Agent Edwards is shocked and looks at Terence. EDWARDS Where the hell did they go? Explain this shit! Terence sighs and sits down. TERENCE You wouldnt believe me if I told you Gary. Honest! EDWARDS Try me! Terence chuckles to himself. EDWARDS Whats so funny? Where the hell did they go? SCENE 25. EXT. FIELD. DAY. Jack and Alice appear in a field, they fall backwards as there is no chair under them anymore. The pda lies in the grass and Jack goes to retrieve it. Alice looks behind Jack and her eyes go wide. ALICE Holy crap, this just so isnt happening! Jack straightens up, dusting the pda off. He smiles at Alice to reassure her. JACK Dont worry, everything will be alright! Trust me!

98.

Alice shakes her head, wide eyed. ALICE You got some serious explaining to do mister! Alices horrified gaze makes Jack look behind him. A Tyrannosaurus Rex is off in the distance some three hundred meters away and has just seen them. JACK Ok, um honey, run that way and start counting, NOW! The T-rex roars and approaches with giant, earth shattering steps. Jack starts dialing on the pda as he runs just behind Alice. ALICE ...Twelve, thirteen, fourteen. Why , why am I counting? JACK Just count and run, do it! ALICE Um, ah, twenty, twenty-one Alice trips on a log, jack tumbles over her. The T-rex is closing in fast. Jack pulls Alice to her feet. They run again and the T-rex closes the gap and is ready to strike. Jack presses the engage button on the pda. The wrist cards glow gold and light up as the T-rex snaps its jaws. They disappear just as the teeth would have made contact. SCENE 26. EXT. FBI H/Q. DAY. Jack and Alice run head-first straight into the side of a bus that is parked outside the FBI building, letting people on and off. The glass windows shatter on the bus from the dimension-jump. Jack and Alice fall to the ground as startled passengers flee for their safety. Aware of the strangeness of the situation, Jack rushes to his feet. JACK Come on, get up and run! Alice glares at Jack, brushing broken glass from her hair as she gets to her feet. ALICE You really know how to show a girl a good time, anyone ever tell you that?

99.

JACK Hurry! They run to the cutlass and Jack gets into the car, Jack takes the keys from the sun-visor and starts the engine. Alice looks at the strange looking car with wheels. Reluctantly, she gets in. ALICE What the hell is this thing? It doesnt look like any transport Ive ever seen before. Jack grins. JACK Youre in for a real treat! This is a classic beauty of American motoring and was the first car I ever took you out in, way back in 2002. Alice looks confused. ALICE Uh, Jack, we just met yesterday, remember? Jack smiles. JACK I have a lot to tell you. Its going to sound totally bizarre at first but its the truth, I promise. Alice nods, smiling with confusion as she sees other cars for the first time in her life rolling on the road. SCENE 27. INT. HOLDING TWO. DAY. Agent Edwards is perplexed as to where Jack and Alice have gone too. He looks about the room and takes the other pda from the plastic bag with Terences belongings. EDWARDS You need to tell me what this does, NOW! Another blinding flash of light makes the power go out again. Another overhead light explodes in a spray of glass. Several Jacks are there. Agent Edwards feels something press against the back of his neck.

100.

PRIME Do not move Gary, I will shoot you if I have to so DO NOT MOVE! Edwards slowly turns and sees multiple Jacks in the room and he is dumb-struck. EDWARDS What - the - hell is going on? How do you know my name? Twenty-three frisks Edwards and takes the keys from his pocket and undoes the cuffs on Terence. Terence takes all their belongings back. TERENCE Gary, you were a good man when I knew you. I hope you still are now. Let this one go because you wont be able to explain it and I cant tell you the truth so please, just let it go. EDWARDS You wont get away with this! I promise you! TERENCE Alright, lets go, to the cornfield, ready? Engage. Terence and the other Jacks engage their pdas, they shift worlds to the cornfield. SCENE 28. EXT. CORNFIELD. DAY. Terence and the other Jacks appear in the cornfield. Straight away Terence scans his pda for Jack. TERENCE Ok, ok, Jacks pda registers in his world damn. He mustve jumped out and then back again. Ok, so, lets move back to our starting positions and go back to where his car is. Prime grimaces. PRIME And what is he isnt there? TERENCE Then if hes not there we go back to the rendezvous point as planned.

101.

They move out and return to their original start-point in the cornfield, based on the footprints of their arrival. On high alert, then jump back to Jacks earth, outside the fbi building, near where Jack parked his car. The car is gone, Jack must have gotten away so they hail cabs and leave. SCENE 29. EXT. CEMETARY. DAY. Jack and Alice are standing together, solemnly looking at a grave. ALICE Do you have any idea how creepy it is to be standing over your own grave? Jack nods. JACK I can imagine. Still, at least your six feet in the right direction, huh? Alice raises her eyebrows and nods, breathing out through her mouth. ALICE Amen to that one! Alice turns, arms folded, she is trying to take it all in and rubs her forehead in thought.. ALICE We really were married in this world? Jack nods. JACK Uh-huh. ALICE Wow! I mean - WOW! JACK Uh-huh! ALICE But will I ever be able to go back home? Jack shrugs his shoulders.

102.

JACK Well. Thats a good question. Truth is, I dont know right this second. Maybe yes, maybe no. In your world, youre a fugitive right now. In my world, youre a fugitive right now. Its not really how I planned this. Alice grimaces. ALICE And the you-yous. They all think Im married to you - them? Jack reluctantly nods. JACK To most, you were. Except the gay one and the one from your world, I guess. Alice giggles, its all a bit much to take in. ALICE Why I am laughing I don't know. This is just so absurd. Jack smiles and affectionately places his arm around her shoulder. JACK Tell me about it! ALICE So, now what? JACK We go to my place, rendezvous with the others and then make a plan to fix your nexus computer. Jack turns to walk back to the car. ALICE Jack, just so you know, Im really a lesbian in my world. Jack turns to her, horrified. ALICE Got ya! She grins. Jack laughs, releasing the tension of the day.

103.

ALICE But seriously though. Just because we worked here, once, doesn't mean that it could be the same again. You might drive me nuts and vice versa. Jack winks at her. JACK Dont worry, youre already driving me nuts! ALICE Hah! Funny, ok hot-shot, take us home. Jack pauses before getting into the car. He smiles a sad smile. JACK You always used to call me that. Hot shot. You know I never thought I would ever hear that again. ALICE Hmm, well, dont worry, Im sure youre not that hot, really. Jack chuckles, loving every moment he spends with Alice. He starts the car and drives them home. SCENE 30. INT. JACKS HOME. NIGHT. Jack and Alice arrive as dusk settles. Terence is concerned and looking from the porch as they arrive. TERENCE Where the hellve you two been? We were worried! They go inside, the other clones are cooking, cleaning, watching tv. Prime is busy at the computer and scowls at Jack and Alice. PRIME Finally! Do you have any idea of the risks you put us all in? Jack nods. JACK Yeah, sorry.

104.

Alice sees the many photos of herself, some of her and Jack and goes to examine them with interest. Seventeen comes over and looks at Alice in awe. Alice feels uncomfortable and turns away. Twenty-three chastises Seventeen. TWENTY-THREE Dude, youre creeping her out. Chill! SEVENTEEN Oh, um ,sorry babe! Alice shrugs, then turns around. ALICE Alright, listen up. You-yous Jackyous! Theres no babe, no honey, no sweetheart, alright! Im not that into you-guys and you really messed my life up so no more sweet-talking, no hugs... and kisses are definitely out! Touching is by invite only, get it? All Jacks reluctantly nod. Twenty-three cuffs Seventeen over the head. TWENTY-THREE Nice one! Make her angry at us why dont you. ALICE Im not angry, its just.. JACK Its a lot to take in, we get it. Its alright. Alice goes out the back door, letting Rufus out to go to the toilet. Jack sighs heavily and shakes his head from sadness. Wanderer places his hand on Jacks arm, rubbing it to reassure him. WANDERER Dont worry Jack. I can tell youre a good guy. She will come around if you give it time. Prime looks up at Wanderer and Jack. He sees Wanderers touch.

105. Smiling, he looks back at the computer and begins furiously typing on the keyboard. Terence makes a sandwich with Seventeen and Twenty-three. JACK Thanks Wanderer. I really do hope youre right. Jack decides to follow Alice out and chat some more to her. SCENE 31. EXT. YARD. NIGHT. Alice is sitting on the love-seat that looks like it hasnt seen much action for quite some time. Jack puts his hands in his jeans and sighs, looking up at the moon. JACK You know, we used to sit her for hours, watching that moon. Talking about random stuff. Alice nods, looking down. ALICE But that wasnt me Jack. It sounds nice and all but that is all stuff you did with her. This is all new to me. Dont you get it? Jack nods, sitting down next to her. JACK Believe me, I do get it. I just... I just wish... Alice smiles. ALICE You wish you had got me a gin lime and lemonade, right? Jack laughs. JACK Yeah, thats exactly what I wish. ALICE Hows the cut on your face? Alice wipes some fluff from the cut. JACK Its nothing. Alice smiles.

106.

JACK Its the only way I can tell you lot apart you know! Jack nods, rubbing his cut. JACK Really, I think were nothing alike! Alice giggles. ALICE I cant even begin to imagine how hard this is for you, seeing me, so much like your wife. That must be so hard! Jack nods, looking down and sighs a wistful sigh. JACK Nah, its a pieve of cake, really! Alice nudges Jack with her shoulder as she looks up to the moon. Rufus is chasing a mouse under a bush by the side of the house. Jack goes to get him. JACK Oi, Rufus! Leave that! Jack rounds the corner of the house and in the darkness, he sees Prime go across the road. There is a car there and Agent Edwards is standing next to the car, smoking a cigarette. The distance is too far to hear anything but Jack reads lips with interest as to what is going on. SCENE 32. EXT. ROAD. NIGHT. Prime walks quickly to Agent Edwards. Prime turns back and makes sure he is not being watched. He cant see Jack watching him from the shadows and speaks quietly. PRIME What are you doing here Edwards? Get out before someone sees you! EDWARDS Not till you tell me what the hell is going on Agent Barrow! Youve gone off books on this one and the President is demanding an update, right NOW!

107.

Prime grinds his jaw angrily. PRIME Things are going a little different to what was planned. This Jack did some dumb shit and, well, its made the girl get involved. EDWARDS She is expendable Agent Barrow, take her out if she gets in the way. Primes disagrees. PRIME Not yet, she may prove useful still. And, the thought of her being alive is motivation when we bring the Jacks in from fresh worlds so I dont want to have to kill her just yet. EDWARDS What about Jones? He doesnt usually come back to the alternate earth after recruiting the Jack? Is it wise to keep him involved now? PRIME Jones is still too stupid to figure it out. So hes in play and under my watch as he seems to be keeping the progress going for now. EDWARDS What about this Jack? PRIME Jack is showing signs of being useful and I have a handle on the systems they use here. The code for the Nexus link will work fine. But, the pdas are somehow causing an electrical discharge if there is a power supply nearby. I dont know why, might be a frequency thing and I want to be sure thats not a problem before we start bringing the delicate and fragile Nexus modules through here. We need things to not get fried upon arrival.

108.

Edwards nods, drawing in on his cigarette. EDWARDS Alright. The world seems ripe for the picking. I take it theres no advanced weaponry or tactical acquisitions? PRIME No. Not that Ive found so far. But theres always plenty of soldiers for the army. Once we get CCIs in them and the Nexus mainframe running, itll be a cake-walk. EDWARDS You also need to get back home somewhat quickly. Seventeens home-world Nexus interface is shorting when the techies boot it up. We cant implant him and deploy him back to his world till the code is re-written or fixed. They cant seem to figure out why and have asked for your assistance. Prime glowers. PRIME Damn-it. I cant do it all. I need to be here to see this through! EDWARDS Hmm. Shall we plan to bring Seventeen back into the bureau and ready him for implantation? The code should be easy enough for you to rewrite? Prime shakes his head in anger. PRIME No! Rewriting the code is not as easy as you think, especially if its shorting the Nexus module! And keeping the other Jacks in the dark is still the better play. They cant be given another opportunity to revolt. You know why! Edwards nods.

109.

EDWARDS One last thing Agent Barrow. The president is furious about Wanderer being liberated. He is insistent that the Wanderer be returned to holding immediately. PRIME Yeah, well it turns out that Wanderer was never really captive to begin with. Agent Edwards eyebrows lift. EDWARDS How so? PRIME Dont know. But he opened his cell doors by himself. His power is too strong. I told the president as much! He is the only one that can stop the Nexus system now. Thats why I need him on side. He thinks were going to deactivate Nexus and will let his guard down in the process. I have a plan in motion to get Jack to kill Wanderer. Jack has a gun. Wanderer wont be expecting Jack and I will use the girl as leverage. Threaten to kill her unless Jack kills Wanderer. Edwards nods. EDWARDS Thus finally making Nexus unstoppable. PRIME Exactly. Like I said, I always have a plan, and its working, so bud out and let the president know Im on top of things! Edwards stubs out his cigarette. EDWARDS This better work Agent Barrow. Theres talk of you being retired - because of this situation.

110.

PRIME That better not happen! Im the best code writer there is and you know it! Besides, I wrote a subroutine algorithm in to the base line. If I dont modify that on a regular basis then the entire system locks up. EDWARDS What do you mean exactly? PRIME I mean it will turn everyone into zombies on all the worlds we own! The chips will make you all into vegetables if something happens to me. So stop making idle threats! Edwards looks angry at this information. EDWARDS You know I will make the president aware of this. PRIME Im counting on it Agent Edwards. Now, get your team working! I need the Secret Service here infiltrated by tomorrow. They have a different President but that wont matter too much once I get Nexus up and running. He can stay in office till we get a replacement organized. EDWARDS Were already moving into position. They should have the key personnel in the White House replaced in the next few hours. We had to detain Agent Edwards and a few FBI from this world seeing as they saw the alternate Jacks. Its best we take them out in my opinion. We cant afford this to go bad after the amount of effort weve already put in, agreed? PRIME Agreed.

111.

EDWARDS Just stay focussed Agent Barrow, no more off-book activities, understand? Prime nods. PRIME Understood. Agent Edwards gets into his car and drives off while Prime skulks back to the front door of Jacks house. SCENE 33. EXT. JACKS HOUSE. NIGHT. Jack is dumbstruck by this revelation that he and the others are being played for a sinister end. He stumbles back to the love seat where Alice is petting Rufus. ALICE Hes a nice little kitty. Jack wanly smiles, lost in thought. JACK Yeah, Rufus is a nice girl. Alice kisses her. ALICE Her, who names a girl Rufus anyway? Jack smiles, petting the cat. JACK Actually, that was you. ALICE Huh! Well, it mustve suited at the time. Jack is lost in his thoughts. ALICE Hello, Jack? Anyone there? Jack laughs. JACK Sorry, just have a lot on my mind. Seventeen comes outside.

112.

SEVENTEEN Um, sorry to interrupt. But we need you guys inside. Alice gets up, followed by a vexed Jack. SCENE 33. INT. JACKS HOME. NIGHT. Jack and Alice come inside. Everyone is seated in the lounge, looking ready to discuss plans. Jack looks with a angry glare at Prime as he tries to keep quiet about what he knows. Ok, so we plan. How the white take that TERENCE need to go over the do we get wanderer into house in our world and system down?

Wanderer smiles, looking peaceful. PRIME Is there any way of getting into the White House here Fifty? Jacks thinks about it. JACK There are public tours of the White House. Almost every day I think. We could join one of the tours. But, it might seem odd, so many of me in one group? Prime smiles, nodding. TERENCE Yes. But we could do it over a few tours at a time. So over the course of a day, we could all get through, right? SEVENTEEN Yeah, but what then? If we all vanish from White House tours then wont that arouse suspicion? TERENCE Dont know that we have lots of options. Prime considers.

113.

PRIME So, we go to Washington, then Wanderer, Jack and me jump to my earth. That way theres no chance of creating unnecessary suspicion. Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah ok! We jump to a set of coordinates from inside one White House to another. Yeah, I like that plan. Wanderer looks up, as if listening. WANDERER I do sense we are being monitored right now. Seventeen gets up and goes to the front window, pulls back the curtain and looks out. There is an Albatross Drycleaning van parked across the road. SEVENTEEN Um, say fifty. In my world, when drycleaning vans are parked out the front of your house at night, thats suspicious, here too, right? Jack nods, looking at Prime for a reaction. JACK Yeah, could be FBI! Prime looks at Jack and Terence. PRIME Damn it! The van starts its engine and slowly pulls away. SEVENTEEN False alarm, its gone! Seventeen returns to his seat. Jack glares at Prime still. JACK Dont you think it would be better if Terry came with us, to your White House, just in case? He is very familiar with your world after all! Prime looks at Jack and seems nonplussed.

114.

PRIME Either way. Still... The front door suddenly bursts open and the windows break as gas cannisters roll into the house. Armed men wearing gas-masks storm in holding laser-guided assault rifles and quickly pin everyone down. Everyone is frisked. Jacks gun make him get hauled outside for questioning as does Terence with his FBI id. SCENE 34. INT. CIA VAN. NIGHT. Jack and Terence are brought into one of three large vans. There is a man (Agent GRAYSON) waiting for them and a woman (Agent Hill) who sits at a laptop by a desk. They wear CIA insignia on their coats. GRAYSON Alright sit down! Now, tell me what is going on here? Terence and Jack look at each other. JACK Um, I guess Agent Edwards told you to find us right? About the Nexus system... and cci chips? Terence looks at Jack like he is talking too much. Grayson is totally confused. GRAYSON I have no idea what you are talking about Mr. Barrow. We want to know why you are uploading viruses into the FBI mainframe and what is this chatter we just intercepted about the White House? Are you planning some type of terrorist activity? Jack thinks. JACK Can I see your hand please? I need to know if I can trust you. Grayson looks confused and shows his hands. GRAYSON Im Agent Grayson, a senior investigator for the CIA son, you can trust me. Jack isnt convinced.

115.

TERENCE CIA, whats that? Jack takes Agent Graysons right hand and swipes the knuckle. No cci chip is evident and Jack smiles with relief. GRAYSON CIA, why, thats the Central Intelligence Agency son! What the blazes are you doing boy? JACK Ok. Ill tell you whats going on. Terry, you need to be caughtup on this, in case I somehow don't make it. Agent Grayson, please bear with me, what Im about to tell you will blow you away! Grayson nods. GRAYSON Alright, Im listening. TERENCE Jack! JACK No, shh! Terry, you dont know what just happened! Trust me! Earlier today, this man, Agent Terry Jones from the FBI came to me. He recruited me to help him take down a terrorist suspect to which I reluctantly agreed. Grayson nods. GRAYSON Go on. JACK Now heres where it gets kind-of funky. See, there are other earths, alternate worlds and the man who I was to help take down is from another earth. Its just like this one in most ways. There are a few differences but... theres other versions of me, you and her too. Thats who I had to get, the other me. Grayson folds his arms.

116.

JACK The thing is, they have a computer chip implant in them... GRAYSON On this alternate earth you went too? JACK I know it sounds crazy, please, just hear me out! TERENCE Youre not helping with this Jack! JACK No, listen, please, all of you! The man in my living room has a terrorist plan. Terry, you were right, Prime, the other me, he is a terrorist! They are planning to bring a nexus computer into this world and implant everyone here, I saw him talking to Agent Edwards just now outside. Terry, they plan to make me kill Wanderer by taking Alice hostage! TERENCE Wait, what? When did this happen? JACK Less than half an hour ago. Prime met Agent Edwards out on the road, he was having a cigarette by his car where he and Prime had this conversation. Terry, it gets worse! Prime is working for the President in your world. They are taking over entire worlds and using me as the go-between. Theyve done it before! Agent Grayson has had enough. GRAYSON Alright stop! TERENCE No, hes telling you the truth, well, the other worlds part of it anyway. Jack, really? Jack nods.

117.

JACK Apparently Wanderer is the only one who can stop the Nexus system. If he dies, thats it! Then this world falls and we all get implanted with ccis. GRAYSON And what is a cci? JACK Show him Terry. Terence sighs. He swipes his knuckle and the numeric touchpad lights up. Grayson and Hill are shocked by what they see. TERENCE In my world we have computer chip implants which we shorten to cci. They are all linked in to a super computer called Nexus. We are all - at least we were, trying to take the Nexus system down to free my people from the chips but... Now? GRAYSON You do appreciate how absurd this sounds, right? TERENCE I can prove it, I can take you there. JACK No Terry, we cant let Prime know we are onto him. Using the pda now would be traceable and Prime cant know we know. If Wanderer is our last hope then we have to play along and make out like we are going to do what Prime wants, just at the last minute we take Nexus down and stop them! Wanderer must be kept alive at all costs! GRAYSON Well, Im about tired of this nonsense. We have ways of extracting the truth that will unfortunately be rather painful but seeing as you seem intent to make up these stories, well, you leave me no choice!

118.

JACK Wait, the gun! We dont have pulse pistols on this world right Agent Grayson, just bullet firing guns. GRAYSON Is that what this is, a ray-gun? Jack nods. JACK Please, you have to believe me. Click the dial around to the left, that way it wont kill anyone. Grayson does as instructed and aims at the van wall. He doesnt really expect anything to happen as he presses the trigger. A large concussion blast makes a huge dent into the van and the van rocks from side to side. GRAYSON Ho-ly! What the heck? Jack nods, smiling. JACK You see Agent Grayson, Im speaking the truth. That is a pulse weapon from his alternate earth. An earth where they are trying to invade (MORE) ours right now and use advanced technologies against us! GRAYSON And you haven't gone to the authorities because of the ridiculousness of the situation? Jack nods. Agent Hill interrupts. HILL Um, Sir. Look. I have done a background check on this man Agent Jones. Sir, hes deceased in the system, three years ago. The file lists an Agent Edwards who they just spoke of as his partner. He is still active, shall I contact him sir? JACK No, you cant. He said the real Edwards is in custody.

119.

JACK(cont'd) The Edwards who is here now is an imposter, Im telling you the truth, I swear?
HILL And - you say Agent Edwards spoke to one of the other men here, while smoking a cigarette? Jack blinks, nodding. JACK Yes, yes why? HILL Look, Sir, here in Edwards jacket, he has a defective lung from a mission in Afganistan where he got chemical poisoning. He cant possibly smoke cigarettes Sir. He must be an imposter. Grayson thinks. He takes out his phone and dials a number. GRAYSON Agent Edwards please?... Well, can you connect me then... Thank you. JACK No, please don't tell him you know about us! Grayson holds up a finger. (MORE) GRAYSON Gary, Hi its Peter, Peter Grayson over at CIA. Listen, I was talking to Mike at Homeland Security... yeah, so I was just checking in to see you got my invite for the party next week... I got you that carton of cigarettes I owe you too. You said Luckys right?... oh, you didnt get the invite yet. Alright, Ill send you another... Hey, its not every day a guy gets engaged right?... You betcha!...Bye. Grayson hangs up the phone. He sighs. GRAYSON Alright! He has no idea and played along with that entire conversation.

120.

GRAYSON(cont'd) There is no party and I dont know Agent Edwards at all!... Im not convinced, but Im trying to buy what youre telling me.
TERENCE Its all true. Im Agent Terence Jones from the Federal Bureau of Intelligence, see, my id is on the table there. GRAYSON Intelligence huh? So youre CIA and FBI are one? TERENCE Yeah, I guess. We dont need two separate divisions. I guess that could be why Prime didnt think to get in touch with you guys. But FBI here now is infiltrated. JACK Secret Service too! You can tell by swiping their hands for ccis. Oh, but you cant! You cant let on that we know about their plan, or else we lose the last chance we have at stopping them. GRAYSON Are you saying I should let hostile terrorists infiltrate the White House, take over the Secret Service? I cant do that! JACK But you must! They out-gun us and theyre already here, secret service is already gone, so is fbi. If you intervene then you doom us all! You have to let us go and continue. If we see this through then we can save everyone, on many worlds, not just this one! If you stop us now, were all finished! GRAYSON And tell me again, just how did you acquire this intel Mr. Barrow? JACK I saw them across the street.

121.

GRAYSON But you couldnt possibly have heard them then? Jack shakes his head. JACK No, I didnt hear them but I read their lips. Look at my id, I teach kids with hearing impairments at Fairview Elementary. GRAYSON And? JACK And a pre-requisite for teaching kids with hearing impairments is learning how to lip read. Agent Grayson ponders this. GRAYSON Agent Hill, go and stand across the street and say something that only you know, please? Agent hill opens the van door, it sticks from the dented wall. She goes across the road and stops. GRAYSON Is that far enough? JACK She should be about five steps further for the distance to be accurate. Grayson waves her further. GRAYSON Go back further! Agent hill does, she stops and speaks. HILL Last night for dinner I had roast duck with a red wine sauce on rice. Then I went to bed after watching Spooks on CBN is that enough? Agent Hill returns to the van. The door will no longer close at all so she leaves it ajar.

122.

JACK Last night for dinner she had duck with a red wine sauce on rice, then she watched spooks on CBN before going to bed. Grayson looks at Hill. HILL A hundred percent accurate Sir. Sir, I think You need to contact Homeland Security or the president! JACK No! They said the president is no danger till the nexus system is up and running. If you alert the president now then secret service will know. GRAYSON Im really uncomfortable with this! It goes against my nature to keep matters of national security quiet. JACK Sir, with respect. You have no choice! You cant tip them off that we know. Grayson thinks. GRAYSON But we cant just let you go either. We just stormed your house for goodness sakes! You should be arrested! If we let you go now that will also tip them off. Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah, um. How about this? You take us back to Jacks house for further interrogation. We manage to break free and theres a staged shoot-out. We miss you guys but we all luckily escape. That way, it looks real. Grayson shakes his head.

123.

GRAYSON Im not putting anyones life in danger! TERENCE Our lives are already in danger! You dont have any other choices. Pull your team out, then you and Agent Hill lead us back into the house. On setting one, this gun wont kill you but will knock you out. Honest. Grayson turns to Agent Hill. GRAYSON Im not going to order you into this Agent Hill. HILL No need Sir, Im there. But Sir, can I suggest we place trackers on them. That was we can hear and trace their movements. Grayson nods. GRAYSON Alright. Agent Hill places trackers in their ears. Grayson then takes his radio mic out. GRAYSON Team, this is Alpha six. Were bringing the two captives back to the house to further our interrogation. TERENCE Just make it look real when were there. There can be no mistakes. GRAYSON Got it. Jack and Terence are led back to the house under cover from the CIA operatives. SCENE 35. INT. JACKS HOME. NIGHT. Jack and Terence are pushed into the lounge room. There are three CIA operatives there holding all others still.

124.

GRAYSON All right, give us the room please? The men exit the room and return to the truck. Agent Grayson grabs Jack by the neck and threatens him in a sinister way. The others look on. GRAYSON Now, I wont ask you again, what the hell is it that you are... Terence takes a pulse-pistol that was hidden in the sofa and fires at Agent Grayson and Agent Hill. The gun makes no sound yet the blast throws them both backwards to the wall where they fall to the floor unconscious. TERENCE Heh, I cant believe they never found my pistol! Come on, everyone, lets go out the back door! They all exit through the back door. Wanderer is second to last out, followed by Prime bringing up the rear. SCENE 36. EXT. JACKS HOUSE. NIGHT. A CIA operative who was covering the back yard sees them exit and shoots. Seventeen and Twenty-three are first outside and are hit before Terence and Jack return fire and shoot the CIA operative. There is a sudden big shoot-out as the remaining CIA agents converge on them, all cia men are taken out as Wanderer keeps the remaining team safe. WANDERER Oh my, I am sorry. I could not prevent the shooting! There was just too much flux in the energy stream of all-that-is for me to pick up on what was going on. I am so sorry! Terence checks Twenty-three. He is bleeding from a legwound. Seventeen has a shoulder wound and gets up by himself. TERENCE We need to get them to a hospital! NOW! PRIME No, we cant. They are identical and gun shot wounds will make for unwanted intervention by the authorities.

125.

JACK I got an idea!! Jack runs back to the house and gets Rufus Vaccination card. He looks up the phone number and grabs his cell phone. JACK Get into the police van, well take that. Ill drive. Alice, dial this number! They get into the SWAT van which isnt damaged. Jack starts the engine as Prime works on stopping the bleeding. SCENE 37. INT. SWAT VAN. NIGHT. Jack drives at high speed, the van screeching around corners as they try to make their escape. ALICE How do you work this thing? We use ccis for communications. Jack takes the phone and dials. JACK Hey, Deborah, its Jack, Jack Barrow... With Rufus... Listen, I have an emergency and was wondering if you could meet me at the practise... Right away... Im on my way now... O.K...See you in ten minutes. Bye. Jack watches through the rear vision mirror as Terence tries to stop the bleeding on seventeen. Jack frowns, this is going to be tricky. JACK Um, Terry, we need to talk! SCENE 38. INT. VETERINARY SURGERY. NIGHT. The van screams to a halt outside and Jack and Alice help Seventeen and Twenty-three out. Forty-one stays in the car with Prime, Terence and Wanderer. Jack bangs on the door as Deborah rushes to let them in. DEBORAH Oh my God! What, whats going on?

126.

JACK Deborah, you need to help us. These men have been shot and they need your help. We cant take them to a hospital or else they call the police...Please! Deborah backs away. DEBORAH I cant! I cant treat gun shot wounds! I only do small animals, thats all! Jack helps seventeen to a seat. He then takes Deborah by the shoulders and shakes her. JACK You must, you have to stop the bleeding! Well get out of here as quickly as we can but you must help us! DEBORAH I could go to jail for this! JACK Just help them, please? Reluctantly, Deborah takes them into the surgery. She looks at Seventeens wound first. DEBORAH (MORE) Ok, so you are lucky, the bullet went through and through. Hold this gauze here. Miss, you hold the back while I look at the other guy. JACK Look! Im sorry that we brought you into this but we had nowhere else to go. DEBORAH You shouldve gone to the hospital Jack! Thats where you go with wounds like these! She examines Twenty-three. DEBORAH Ok, you are also incredibly lucky! Straight through for you too! That must be a high power rifle to do that!

127.

DEBORAH(cont'd) I remember seeing my husband when he got shot and the wound was very similar looking... just he wasnt quite so lucky.
Jack looks at Deborah and Alice, he grimaces and watches on. SCENE 39. INT. CIA VAN. NIGHT. Jack comes out and checks on the men. TERENCE How they doin? Jack nods. JACK Theyll be ok. The bullets went straight through. Your - Deborah is patching them up for the short term but they will need hospital care. Prime nods. PRIME We can drop one off here at a local hospital and one off in a few suburbs. Not really a great solution but we cant let them die either. JACK What about your world? PRIME If Im branded a terrorist then they will be refused any form of health-care. JACK Even to the point of death? PRIME Yes. Terrorists get nothing in my world. Jack nods, not liking that one bit. JACK Alright, everyone come inside the surgery. This is going to be hard for Debbie, Terry, you sure you want to do this now? Terence nods.

128.

TERENCE Yeah, yeah. I got too. JACK Alright. Give us a sec before coming in, alright? Terence gulps and again nods as the others pile out of the van. SCENE 40. INT. VETERINARY SURGERY. NIGHT. Deborah is applying tape to the wound on seventeen. She glances up at Alice. DEBORAH You ok? ALICE Yeah, Im just peachey. DEBORAH Im Debbie. ALICE Alice. DEBORAH Hey. - I dont even want to know what you guys are into. ALICE Oh, I wish I had that luxury too, believe me! Deborah looks up as Jack opens the door and walks in. DEBORAH Alright, now just have to clean this mess up! Jack cringes slightly as he and the others walk in. Deborah sees more Jack clones and is wide-eyed as she turns, looking at them all. JACK Deborah, look, this is, well its complicated. DEBORAH What the... How many of you are there? And how can this get any more complicated than this? Deborah turns looking at everyone. Terence then comes in and clears his throat.

129. She spins around and her she trembles momentarily twenty-three is sitting, hands falls to the floor jaw drops open, smacks closed and as she backs into the table where the glass bowl with swabs in her and shatters

TERENCE Actually...Lots! Deborah faints. ALICE See, I told you this was a dumb idea! Time passes. Deborah comes around and sees Terry looking over her. Maddened, she slaps his face. DEBORAH Who the hell are you? TERENCE And thats the thanks I get... Heh heh. Um. Well, Its like this...baby... SCENE 41. INT. CIA VAN. NIGHT. Agents Grayson and Hill are in their van, listening in to the conversation. GRAYSON Lets follow them to the hospital. Damn it, I knew that was going to go bad. Most likely theyll go to the county clinic in Venice, thats the only 24 hour facility in the area. Call ahead and make them aware that they are to be treated under my orders and there is to be no one that interviews them, alright? Agent Hill grabs her cell-phone and starts dialing. SCENE 42. INT. VETERINARY SURGERY. NIGHT. Time has passed, Deborah has been filled in and she trembles, still unsure of how to react.

130.

TERENCE So thats it, in a nut-shell. Were trying to get to the White House to jump back to my world and turn the Nexus mainframe offline. Then, then Im damned if I know what Im gonna do. Deborah wipes her eyes dry. DEBORAH You know you could be him. Terry, you look just like him, talk like him. Damn you, you even smell just like him! TERENCE Yeah, I get it. DEBORAH And your wife, the me - in your world. She, she might never ever wake up? Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah. This is true. DEBORAH But, but... Deborah breaks down and cries. Crushed, Terence cuddles her as she sobs uncontrollably. TERENCE Deb... DEBORAH No... TERENCE Babe... DEBORAH I said NO! Terence has tears in his eyes as looks at Jack. TERENCE Man, this shit is hard! Jack nods, looking at Alice.

131.

JACK Youre preaching to the choir here my friend. Wanderer sighs, breaking his silent reverie in the loving feelings that are flowing in the room. WANDERER Once we get the nexus system deactivated. There is nothing stopping either of you four from looking deeper into your hearts and examining those feelings, if you desire it. Prime coughs. PRIME Not to rain on your parade here but we do need to make a move. That van out there will be attracting attention real soon. JACK Yes. I know. Um, so, we have to get to Washington. But, we dont have money for flights, cant fly more than one of me anyhow on commercial airlines without drawing attention - and not to mention the fbi have us on the wanted list by now so we really cant fly at all I guess - so what now? Everyone frowns. ALICE Um, is my Dad an architect in this world? Jack nods. JACK Yes, George is retired but he had his own company, Watkins Sm... ALICE Watkins Smith and Trubidore! Well, I might have a way to get you there. But - we will need to go and see my parents. Jack frowns.

132.

JACK Really, must we? ALICE No, Im sure I could call him on the phone and say hey dad, its me, your dead daughter here, can you please organize to fly my clone-friends to Washington -oh by the way, their wanted by the fbi and oh yes - are from another world! That would be such an easy conversation to have now wouldn't it? Jack smiles. JACK Actually I would think that phone conversation would be easier to hurdle than your mother seeing us Jacks. She hates me with a deadly passion! ALICE Oh, I see. JACK Youre sure though? ALICE Kind-a. If my Dad knows the same people as your Alices Dad then it should work, I hope! Jack looks at the others. JACK Consensus? Everyone agrees to go. TERENCE Deb honey, you should stay here, ok? Deborah still hugs Terence. DEBORAH I will kick your ass if you ever leave me again Terence Jones! Im coming with you, come what may! Terence smiles, stroking Deborahs hair. He kisses her head and nods to the team.

133.

TERENCE Guess our team just grew by one. Alice looks at seventeen, bleeding still through his clothes. ALICE We need to get them to the hospital. We cant just leave them to bleed like this. JACK But we cant all go, its too risky! DEBORAH They can take my car. It has gps. Seventeen nods. SEVENTEEN Alright, lets do it! Come on people, lets move out! SCENE 43. EXT. TRUBIDORE RESIDENCE. NIGHT. The van pulls up outside. Jack exits the van and walks briskly up the stairs. George Trubidore, Alices Father is waiting for them on the porch. He is weary and has affection for Jack but is sad how the family has been split. (MORE) GEORGE Hello Jack! Long time no see. Whats this about? You sounded strange on the phone! Jack shakes hands with George. JACK Hi George. Look, Im so sorry to do this but I really need your help and I have nowhere else to turn. George looks into Jacks eyes and considers it. He nods. Martha comes outside, annoyed and in a bad mood at the thought of her ex-son-in-law bothering them late at night. MARTHA You have some nerve young man! We dont see you or hear from you in years and now you show up on our doorstep out of the blue and late at night!

134.

MARTHA(cont'd) - Whats that police van doing here? Are you in some kind of trouble?
Jack holds his hands up to try to quieten her down. JACK Please, Martha, I need you to calm down and come inside so I can talk to you... MARTHA No I will not be silent here! This is just so typical of you Jack Barrow! What is it this time? Drugs? JACK No, I ... The van door closes with a thud and Alice stands on the kerb, looking up at them. George and Martha grip each others arms as they see their dead daughter, now standing by their front yard. JACK You should have waited Alice! ALICE Sorry, but I know my Mom and when she starts ramping up, well, I guess youre right, she really doesnt like you very much. Martha and George are dumbstruck as Alice walks up to them. (MORE) MARTHA Is - is this some kind of trick? Jack smiles. JACK We need to come inside and talk. DISSOLVE TO: SCENE 44. INT. TRUBIDORE RESIDENCE. NIGHT. Everyone from the van is now inside, they are drinking hot chocolates. Alices hand is being firmly held by her tearyeyed Mother as they sit and listen to the strangest tale ever. George is sitting in his armchair, sucking on the end of his eye-glasses as he thinks about what is happening. GEORGE So what you need is some covert way to get to Washington?

135.

GEORGE(cont'd) Under normal circumstances I would say use the company jet. But - fbi, I cant do that. Washington would need FAA clearance due to the heightened risks lately. We wouldnt get approval this late at night.
MARTHA George, our daughter needs our help! ALICE You understand, Im not exactly... Martha kisses her hand and rubs it. MARTHA George Trubidore, need I repeat myself! Our daughter needs our help! George picks up the telephone and dials. GEORGE Its not that I don't want to approve the use of the jet, its just they wont give specialclearance on such short notice. You need pre-flight checks, flight logs, passenger manifests and disclosure of business. Its not like a joyride over the coastline you know. Washington is a whole other story, believe me. But, I might have a friend who can help. TERENCE Uh - Sir, we cant tell too many people... GEORGE Oh I get it Agent Jones. Dont worry! Jack and Terry exchange glances. Martha cuddles Alice. MARTHA This is like and heaven and hell combined you know. ALICE Really?

136.

MARTHA Yes, heaven being with my little darling angel again. Alice smiles as Martha glares at the many Jacks. MARTHA And hell because now theres more of them! George looks disapprovingly at Martha. GEORGE Martha, sshh, Im on the telephone!... Hello, hello Nathan? Hi, this is George Trubidore...good... Thanks, yes Martha is well... Martha waves to George. MARTHA Ask him how Janice is, we havent played bridge in a while - she can be a bit, you know! George angrily waves her down as he continues talking. GEORGE And Janice, is she well?... Good...yes Martha would love to play bridge again...Tuesday? Why, Im certain that would be fine... Martha elbows Alice lightly as she smiles at George. MARTHA Nathan owns a trucking company. All over America they are! They have these god-awful yellow vans though, why yellow I have no idea! Teal or Mauve would look so much more endearing to the eye... GEORGE Nathan, I have a rather large favor to ask you... Yes... Well I do have something big to offer you in return... Martha gasps, smiling as she claps her hands to her mouth. MARTHA No! George grins to her as he talks.

137.

GEORGE So the lodge is accepting new candidates right now, the vote is next month and that nomination you were after is now up on the table...uh-huh!... Well, I need to get some people over to Washington, tonight, quietly... Yes... Yes I know... Martha smiles. MARTHA Nathans been trying to get your Father to nominate him into the lodge for so long now. Georges smile fades. GEORGE What?... The super-bowl as well?... A BOX?!?... My goodness Nathan!... Yes... Well I know its difficult... But...Uh...well, alright fine!... I will have Martha call Janice in the morning.... Alright... Goodnight! Martha looks up and sighs. MARTHA Alice, dear, you have no idea of the cost this is going to bare on your Father as well as me. Bridge! (sigh). GEORGE Well, hell do it. That damn super-bowl! Do you have any idea what that costs Martha? - I will have to call early, see if they have any corporate discounts. Jack and Terence exchange glances. TERENCE Thank-you, both of you. This means a lot to everyone. GEORGE Yes well. I hope the people of your world know how difficult it is to get super-bowl tickets, let alone a box! Prime laughs.

138.

PRIME Im sure they will be appreciative Mr. Trubidore. GEORGE You need to be at the freight yard by the airport in just under an hour. That doesnt give you much time. Everyone stands. Martha looks upset. MARTHA But, but we just have you back and now youre leaving? Will, will we ever see you again? Alice smiles and kisses her cheek, hugging Martha. ALICE I promise Ill come back! Jack would love to come and visit, wouldnt you dear? Jack feigns a smile. JACK Yeah, sure. Totally! George opens the front door and shakes hands with everyone in a very brisk, gentlemanly manner. GEORGE Well, all the best. We hope your worlds are all good. Stay in touch then. Alice comes out last. GEORGE You, you especially, stay safe Alice. Its been so hard... So very hard. Please do come back, your Mother will love to see you. Alice grins, kissing his cheek and hugging him. ALICE I will, and thank you. Martha cuddles into George as the team get into the van and leave. With sad-smiles they close the door.

139.

SCENE 44. INT. CARGO PLANE. DAWN. The team are crammed in to a small area of a cargo plane. Pallets of boxes and general freight make the comfort level harsh as the plane flies. A co-pilot comes down to them from the cockpit. CO-PIOLOT Ok, we are on final approach to Ronald Reagan Airport. Youll have about two to three minutes when we taxi into the hanger before the ground crew will start unloading. Dont be here when they open the doors or you will be arrested by airport security! Terence nods. TERENCE Dont worry. We will be long gone. CO-PIOLOT Ive been instructed by our CEO to direct you to the west side entrance. There will be a van there with keys on the drivers front tire. Terence nods. CO-PIOLOT You guys arent terrorists or nothing, right? Jack shakes his head. JACK No, were not terrorists, really! The co-pilot looks unconvinced but goes back to the cockpit. Terence shakes his head bewildered. TERENCE As if wed say yes to that question if we were! The plane touches-down and everyone shakes as the plane decelerates on the runway. A box falls towards Wanderer but Wanderers energy-field protecting him makes the box bounce off. Jack brushes past Wanderer as he pushes the box aside. Prime notices that Wanderer is still keeping his defenses up but that Jack is able to bypass those defenses.

140.

SCENE 45. INT. HANGAR. DAY. The team quickly climb out of the freight plane and move towards the side exit. Prime and Terence make sure the coast is clear. With haste they pile into the courier van that is waiting for them and Jack takes the keys from the wheel. SCENE 46. INT. VAN. DAY. Jack drives the van through the streets of Washington. JACK Im guessing theres a plan to get us into the White House? We will need to pass security. Prime is using his pda. PRIME Im updating the guest-list. I inserted us into the tours itinerary on your pc last night Jack. Now, Im just hacking the i.p... Ok, were in. - there, done! TERENCE So whats the play? PRIME The play is this. Jack and Terry will go through the service entry as delivery men. The rest of us go in as a tour group from Los Angeles. TERENCE What if this turns bad? PRIME If you get detained for any reason, jump into my world and move quickly. Both White Houses are heavily guarded but the element of surprise will be with us. Make for the east-side service elevator and take the door opposite, wait for us there and check your pdas. If you see we jumped then jump as well. Jack and Terence exchange nervous glances. Having Alice with Prime is not what Jack wants.

141.

JACK Maybe Alice should stay with me, shes set to go on my pda if I jump. PRIME Good point, here, Ill reset you to jump on my pda. Jack, keep with the plan. Three delivery drivers in a two-seat van will only raise more suspicion! TERENCE Were nearly there. PRIME Alright, Jack, pull over and let us out. We dont want to be seen by secret service. Wait till were at security, then move out for the service entry. The van pulls up well clear of the White House. Jack shoots a nervous look at Terence as the others get out. Terence takes a delivery-drivers cap from the seat and hands Jack a delivery vest to put on to help sell the ruse. Everyone except for Jack and Terence walk down the street. JACK I dont like this one bit! Alice is too vulnerable like this. TERENCE Yes. But theres too many others with Prime for him to do anything yet. If he needs to get Wanderer into my world and working on the Nexus Mainframe then we still got time to do something. Prime wont hurt Alice, dont worry! We got to keep Prime thinking hes in control! Jack grinds his jaw in nervous contemplation. SCENE 47. EXT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. The group approach the security check-in. Prime looks over to the van that is just in sight. Prime leads them to the security guard. The van drives off as planned. PRIME Were the Barrow party from Los Angeles. We have a reservation.

142.

The security guard checks his screen. The screen flashes Access granted 3 tickets only - do not delay - priority clearance SECURITY GUARD. I see you, alright. Here you go, please check in through the scanner. Prime shepherds fortyone and Wanderer to walk through the scanner. Alice goes to walk through after Prime and is pulled up by the security guard. Deborah is by her side. SECURITY GUARD. Im sorry miss. Youre not listed on the itenerary. Neither are you miss. Without tickets, you cant proceed. Prime grimaces, he tries to walk back but is stopped by a secret-service agent and told to move on. PRIME Whats going on? Alice calls out to Prime. ALICE Somethings wrong with the tickets. Were not on the list. Prime looks very upset. ALICE That cant be right! Look, please, can we get two more tickets? Our friends are in? SECURITY GUARD. Im sorry maam. But thats not possible. The tours are all booked for today. All you can do is re-book for another day. Alice fumes. Deborah sighs. ALICE Um Prime, er, Jack! You will have to go without us! They wont let us through! Im sorry! Prime looks angry but nods. PRIME Alright. Dont worry. Everything will work out as per the plan.

143.

Prime turns and walks off with Wanderer and Fortyone. SCENE 48. INT. CIA VAN. DAY. Agent Grayson and Hill are in a unmarked cia van in Washington. They see the delivery van drive off and they see Deborah and Alice being refused into the White House. GRAYSON Odd. Why would only some of them get in? Must be somethings up. HILL Perhaps? But, if the Prime Jack did book the tickets earlier in L.A, well, Deborah Jones wasnt in their group then. Grayson nods, thinking. GRAYSON True... HILL Do we follow the van or monitor the others? GRAYSON Neither! HILL Sir? GRAYSON Somethings not right! If the whole play was on Alice being the bait then how come shes not in the group anymore? HILL Luck? GRAYSON I dont believe in luck agent Hill. Lets follow Alice, I got a hunch. Besides, we cant get into the White House without raising suspicion anyway. Agent Hill is unsure and quietly shakes her head as they follow the two women down the road.

144.

SCENE 49. EXT. WHITE HOUSE SERVICE ENTRY. DAY. Jack and Terence drive up to the service entry. They are stopped by security. SECURITY GUARD. Good morning gentlemen! The guard peers into the van and scrutinzes the occupants. TERENCE We got a delivery. The security guard smiles. SECURITY GUARD. Yes, I got you right here. Youre all clear to go on through. Jack and Terence nod nervously and drive slowly on to the driveway towards the service entry. JACK That seems a bit too easy to me! TERENCE I agree. Stay sharp! Outside, the security guard swipes his hand, his cci glows as he talks to the person listening somewhere else. SECURITY GUARD. (MORE) Theyre through to the service entry. Were all a go. SCENE 50. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Prime, Wanderer and Fortyone make their way to the rendezvous point opposite the elevator. Jack and Terry arent there yet. FORTYONE Love that color walls. Im so going to paint my place that color when I get back home! Prime smiles flatly. PRIME Fortyone, focus! Fifty and Agent Jones should have been here by now. We cant keep Wanderer from deactivating the Nexus mainframe on my world.

145.

PRIME(cont'd) You take him through while I see whats delaying Fifty and Jones. Wait for me on the other side. Go!
Fortyone nods. He calibrates his pda for Wanderer and himself and engages the jump. They disappear in a white hot flash of light. Prime smiles as he adjusts his pda and swipes his cci. Kinking his head, he clicks his neck. He condescendingly speaks as if coaxing a pet. PRIME Alright, Jack, Agent Jones - I know you can hear me! Im tapped in to those primitive earpieces that you were given. Talk to me! Faraway in the other side of the White House, Jack and Terence stop their walking and look at each other, hearing Prime on their earpieces. TERENCE Ah - Prime? PRIME Yes! - Thats better. Now, where are you two idiots? JACK We, uh, just got in to the service entry, heading to your position now. PRIME Good, move it! Double time! Now, while I have your undivided attention, let me make you aware of something. JACK We already know about your plan! PRIME Clearly, from your conversations earlier I got that! Not nice Jack, working against me like that! Still, Im a forgiving man, I can show compassion too. Now Shut up Jack! I do the talking here, you do the listening! Got it? Jack pauses. Terence shrugs, what do they now do? JACK Fine.

146.

They decide to play along and move quicker to get to the position, fearful of the outcome for Alice. PRIME You see Jack, this is all just another form of natural evolution. A way for a backward people such as yourselves, to be honoured into upliftment into a grand society such as ours! Prime smiles, enjoying his moment of gloating. PRIME It would take your world literally centuries upon centuries to become as glorious as I will make you in a few short weeks! Once I get a nexus module into this earth and feeding off our mainframe, the cci implants you will be blessed with will elevate you to a monumental and wondrous new dawn for your primitive and heathenistic civilization. Jack and Terry arrive to where Prime is, they are huffing and puffing from the fast movement.. PRIME Ah! Finally! Now, you two need to go to my world, Id prefer you just knock-out Fortyone but kill that gay son of a bitch if you must! But, most importantly, you need to kill Wanderer! JACK Wanderer has a shield around him, we cant kill him! PRIME Wrong Jack. Wanderer trusts you! When he begins to deactivate the Nexus mainframe you must shoot him dead. He will be using all his energy on that force-shield and thats when he will be most vulnerable. I dont care which one of you does it, but one of you better! TERENCE We wont do it! Jack looks around for signs of the women.

147.

JACK Wheres Alice? And Deborah, where are they? Prime rages at Jack. PRIME I do the talking. YOU DO THE LISTENING! - now. Agent Jones. Look at your pda for a moment. Agent Jones takes out his pda. PRIME Tune in to our world. I have something you will want to see on screen before jumping there to kill Wanderer. Agent Jones tunes in to his worlds frequency. Prime swipes his cci hand implant. PRIME Agent Edwards - or should I say Dr. Edwards as the case may be right now, are you in position? Agent Edwards face appears in the pda screen. He smiles as he plays with a stethoscope and wears a white coat. EDWARDS Im here Agent Barrow. PRIME Excellent. Now, Terry. Terry, terry, terry... See, youve been a good little worker, bringing me lots of Jacks for me to train. We have successfully taken over sixteen worlds now thanks to you and your insatiable efforts to kill me! Terence glares at Prime and looks back to his pda. TERENCE Too bad I never did the job right huh? Prime sniggers, then shoots an evil-eye at Terence. PRIME You see Agent Jones. If your wife wasnt kept in a coma, well, youd simply have no reason to keep finding us new worlds to conquer!

148.

TERENCE What do you mean, kept in a coma, she is in a coma! Prime grins. PRIME Wrong! I keep her in a coma! That way, you stay on target! Now though, you see you have a wonderful opportunity here! Im being really quite generous and will allow you to have your wife back, as long as you fulfill my request to kill Wanderer! TERENCE Bull shit! Prime smiles, nodding. PRIME Agent Edwards, can you inject his wife please, resuscitate her for me? Agent Edwards places his pda on the bed. Deborah is lying in her coma still. Edwards injects her with a syringe and then takes up his pda to get a better camera shot. Terence and Jack exchange worried glances. Within seconds, Deborah stirs. She begins to blink and starts to cough. She opens her eyes and gasps. Terence is horrified and furious all at once. TERENCE You son of a bitch! Prime lifts a finger and waves it at him. PRIME Nah-ah-ah agent Jones! As you can see, your wife is alive and well back home! To go to her, all you have to do is make the jump, kill Wanderer... and then go to the hospital to be with her. Ill even let you take an honourable discharge if you like. Get a place out in the country, go be a family with her. What do you say Agent Jones? Terence is shaking with rage. It is all he can do to not hurt Prime right now.

149.

TERENCE Go - To - Hell! Prime sighs, smiling flatly. PRIME Dr. Edwards. You know your bedside manner is simply appalling! Why, Mrs Jones pillow needs straightening and fluffing! Edwards grabs the pillow from Deborah as she blinks and coughs. With one hand he keeps the pda on her and the other presses the pillow down on her face, suffocating her. She starts to choke, clawing in vain at the pillow yet she has no strength. Jack and Terence are horrified. TERENCE Stop! JACK You evil bastard, stop it! Prime smirks. TERENCE Stop it! STOP! PRIME What about Wanderer? TERENCE Please, tell him to stop! Terence begins to shake and sob. TERENCE Alright...alright... PRIME Hmm, ok Agent Edwards, let her breathe some more! For now. Edwards takes the pillow off of her face and she coughs, sucking in air.. PRIME So, to be perfectly clear. She lives if Wanderer dies. Jack and Terence exchange fearful glances. CUT TO:

150.

SCENE 51. INT. CIA VAN. DAY. Agents Grayson and hill are monitoring the conversation. Grayson makes a cut-motion with his hand. Hill disengages the com units. GRAYSON We need to isolate that bandwidth, cut the Prime Jack out! They need to know that Alice and the other Deborah are ok! Agent Hill reprograms the com unit transmitter. HILL Alright, they all still hear each other and we can talk direct to Jack and Agent Jones on a sperate link. GRAYSON Agent Jones, youre both on a separate link now, if you can hear me, cough once. CUT TO: SCENE 52. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Terence coughs. PRIME (MORE) Agent Jones, its time for you to leave, now! GRAYSON (O.S.) Deborah is safe, Alice is safe. They did not make it into the White House. We followed them to a hotel. Do you copy? Terence and Jack lock eyes. TERENCE I hear you - but I don't get why, Why kill wanderer? Why take over worlds? What do you possibly get from it? Prime grins. Jack looks somewhat relieved at the news of Alice. PRIME What does anyone want deep down? Money?

151.

PRIME(cont'd) Money means nothing, look at this world! The true religion is power! Power comes from ruling over the masses. From Power and control you bring order from chaos.
TERENCE But, you dont control anything. The president rules our world! Prime rolls his eyes and chuckles. PRIME Oh come on Agent Jones! The president is a fool and doesnt run shit! I write the cci code, I control the nexus code! I control it all! Without me, they have nothing! I am GOD! Jack laughs. JACK Youre the idiot if you think youre God! You dont control anything, you use stolen technologies from Wanderers people to enslave entire worlds! A true God wouldnt need to enslave anything! A true God lets people be free! Prime glares at Jack. PRIME Freedom is a dangerous and foolhardy notion Jack. Do you really think youre free here? Well, do you? You have no true freedom any more than the people on my world or any other I control! Freedom is a fallacy! Do you want to know what happens when you have freedom? You have no control! Without ccis and Nexus, you end up with Anarchy! I have Regents controlling sixteen alternate Earths right now. Jack, you will be the seventeenth if you keep up the good work! Jack looks at Prime with disgust. JACK I wont help you! You cant make me!

152.

Prime grins, handing Terence a key-card. PRIME Agent Jones, this key-card will get you elevator access to sublevel 12. I suggest you take it. Or shall I request Dr. Edwards to readjust your wifes pillow? Terence angrily grabs the card. Unblinking, he flicks his pda to transport and presses the engage button. In a blinding flash he shifts to his world. PRIME Alright, Agent Edwards, hes enroute. You can kill the bitch now! He wont be back so we wont be needing any loose ends, alright? EDWARDS (O.S.) Affirmative. Through the pda, Jack hears muffled chokes till theres silence. Prime watches the screen while grinning. Jack is disgusted. JACK You know what pisses me off most? PRIME That I outsmarted you? JACK No, you didnt! I just hate that I didnt believe Terry and kill you when I had the chance! Prime smirks. PRIME Dont worry, you will get the chance to kill someone, it just wont be me! Now, I doubt Agent Jones will actually carry through with the set task so Im sending you in as a back-up. Rule number two of the agency code is always have a back up plan. Rule number one of course, is, to have a plan to begin with heh heh! Jack glares.

153.

JACK You got nothing on me, I wont do it. If you want Wanderer dead then go do it yourself. PRIME I cant, if he senses me then its all finished. I need to stay out of the room so that you can kill him. its the only way itll work. JACK I wont kill for you! PRIME I think you will. So, your task Jack, is to make sure Wanderer dies. Then, when he is dead, you must kill Agent Jones. Then and only then will I set you free to be Regent over this world with your beloved tramp Alice. Or, alternatively, I kill Alice, then you. Its your choice! Jack shakes his head in disbelief. PRIME I cant believe I ever trusted you! Prime gets annoyed. (MORE) PRIME Youre showing good signs of being worthy of upliftment to Regency status Jack. You and that trash wife of yours will live like Kings here! But I can always put another Jack in if you prefer death for you... Death for Alice... JACK Youre bluffing, you got nothing! Prime grins like a fat-kid kid with a cupcake. PRIME Oh come on Jack, you know me like you know yourself, we dont bluff, ever! Oh come on, lighten up! Its just a quick pull of the trigger and then ruling a massive freaking planet!

154.

PRIME(cont'd) Listen to me for a second! You would rule this planet!

Jack shakes his head. JACK Only problem with your plan is you need leverage to make me do anything, leverage you dont have as you dont have Alice! Prime grins. PRIME Rule three of the agency code Jack! JACK Whats that? PRIME Always have a back up plan to the back up plan! CUT TO: SCENE 52. INT. CIA VAN. DAY. Grayson rips his com unit off and rushes for the van door. GRAYSON I knew this was off! Damn-it! SCENE 53. INT. HOTEL. DAY. Agent Grayson, followed by Agent Hill run into the seedy hotel lobby. They have their guns drawn and they look about them. The reception desk is empty so Agent Grayson smacks the desk-bell repeatedly till a thin, balding, seedy looking manager comes to the desk. He looks like an alcoholic who is between benders and he has a surly, arrogant attitude as he regards the obviously-lawenformement officers with disdain. MANAGER Great! Another freaking cop-raid. GRAYSON There were two women who came in here not long ago, one African American, the other white. Which room did they take? The manager spits into his waste-bin.

155.

MANAGER Warrant?!? Grayson glares at the man. GRAYSON I dont have one. Look, these women are in danger! Theyll be dead by the time I get a warrant... The manager shrugs. MANAGER Unless my eyeballs see a valid warrant, my guests stay where they is! Grayson glowers, holstering his gun. He wipes his mouth, contemplating, he looks at Hill. With a deft motion, he takes a paper-spike from the desk-top and grabs the manager, pulling his head down so that the spike grazes his left cheek right by his eye, drawing blood. GRAYSON How about I show you the inside of your left eyeball. Of course you will need to use your right eye to see it as the left one wont do much for you anymore! The manager shakes with fear as blood drips on to the desk. MANAGER You, you know what? I bet the warrant probably looks like most I already seen so, so, I guess... Grayson jabs into his cheek more. GRAYSON What room, I wont ask again! MANAGER 222...222! Grayson smiles. GRAYSON Key? MANAGER On the wall, behind the door! GRAYSON Agent Hill, get the key!

156.

Agent Hill is alarmed at the turn this is taking but does as instructed. She gets the key. GRAYSON You let them know were coming and I swear itll be the last thing you ever see! Grayson and Hill run for the stairs. SCENE 54. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Prime grins as he swipes his hand, lighting up his cci. He dials a number. PRIME Honey... Sweetheart... Are you in position? Jacks eyes go wide, he now wonders if made a big mistake? SCENE 55. INT. HOTEL ROOM 222. DAY. Deborah looks out the window, looks to the door, her yes are wide as she looks to Alice who sits on a chair in the middle of the room. DEBORAH Im here babe! Deborahs hand is lit-up, her cci is receiving Primes communication. PRIME (O.S.) Good. You have a weapon, I presume. Take it out and put that bitch on your pda. I want Jack to see what he is about to let die, again! Deborah smiles a cruel smile. Alice is dumb-struck. Deborah takes out her pda and adjusts the signal. She takes out a pulse pistol and sets it to 22 on the dial while the pda is broadcasting. DEBORAH Hold on. You getting this? Deborah shows the gun, shows Alice looking fearful. Alice turns her head to reveal a nasty bruise on her face. PRIME (O.S.) Ahh, excellent. You ok my love?

157.

Deborah turns the pda on to herself and blows Prime a kiss, grinning into the handset. DEBORAH Im fine honey. Everything went to plan. Did you get that fool exhusband of mine to do what we wanted? She trains the camera back on Alice as she circles the room. SCENE 55. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Prime grins to a dumbstruck Jack. Jack is watching the pda that Prime is holding up. PRIME Yes, hes gone back to our world. Hes set to kill Wanderer but Im having doubts about his commitment to the cause. So, to be sure, Jack here will go and follow him and make sure he does it. And he will lastly eliminate your ex to complete his mission. Then and only then will you set Alice free. Understood? DEBORAH (O.S.) Understood. JACK I dont get it, which Debbie is the real one? PRIME Well theyre all real ones Jack, come on! If you mean, which one is Agent Jones wife in my world, then its the one in the bed. I pulled my Debbie from Earth three. She and I just naturally hit it off and when I found out she hated Terry as much as I did, well, it was only natural we join up, right? Jack tires to figure out the deception. JACK You planted her here when we came last night? But, but you didnt know we would go to her! You couldnt have...?

158.

Prime grins. PRIME Ive been raiding worlds for over two years now Jack! You learn pretty quick how to cover all the bases! Sometimes its over-kill, sometimes like now, it plays right out like I planned. But you, you threw the spanner into the works this time Jacky-boy! Jack shrugs. JACK How? PRIME What were you thinking? Going to see Alice on rotation. That never happens! We always manage to keep her out of the picture, so that I can keep you Jacks in line and focussed. But you! You, you had to mess that up huh? Still, made me think about getting Wanderer finally out of the picture and that my friend, is all thanks to you! Sure, the plan was a throwtogether and I really prefer not to fly by the seat of my pants... But its working out and I have you to thank for that! Thats why I know youll make a great Regent for this world. Jack shakes his head defiantly. JACK I wont help you! Prime grins an evil smile. PRIME Yes. You will! Honey, shoot that bitch in the leg. Careful not hit any arteries, we need her to stay alive for Jack to do the right thing and then rescue his little girlfriend. Right Jack, girlfriend, shes not quite your wife yet, is she? Jacks eyes bulge. JACK No!

159.

SCENE 56. INT. HOTEL ROOM 222. DAY. Deborah moves around to Alices front. Deborah aims for Alices leg and shoots. The pulse-pistol blows a small hole straight through Alices leg and blood splatters her pants and floor. Alice screams in agony, clutching her leg. DEBORAH That ok honey or do you want me to hit her again? PRIME (O.S.) Thats excellent sweetheart. Just wrap her leg like I showed you. We dont want her to bleed out prematurely. SCENE 57. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Jack is aghast that Prime could be so cruel. JACK You make me sick! Prime smiles. PRIME Blah blah blah, you make me sick, I hate you, you this, you that... I heard it all before Jack! But you need to be brave, be honored! Its not everyone who gets to be this lucky as you are right now. So, I now have your full attention and you know my level of commitment. I dont need to make a further point do I? Jack grinds his teeth. JACK No, I get it. Prime smiles. PRIME Excellent! So, take your pda, I know you can do this. Heres another key-card. Hurry up now. Jump away. You need to be quick! Alice is bleeding right now! Dont let her blood be on your hands.

160.

Jack takes the key-card and pulls the pda from his pocket and looks at it. He looks up to Prime and grinds his jaw. Reluctantly, he nods. JACK Ok. ok. Keep Alice alive. Ill go. Prime nods and smiles. PRIME You have my word Fifty, she wont be harmed! Jack selects the pda setting and engages the device. His wrists glow gold and the room explodes in light as he jumps away. PRIME Sweetheart, if anything happens to me, you make sure you kill that bitch! SCENE 58. INT. HOTEL ROOM 222. DAY. Deborah smirks as she watches Alice tie a tourniquet around her leg from a torn bedsheet. DEBORAH Itll be my pleasure! SCENE 59. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Jack jumps to the alternate white house. Terry is not there, nor is Fortyone and Wanderer. Jack goes to the elevator opposite, presses the call button and gulps nervously. He looks left and right but there is no one anywhere. The door chimes and opens. Jack enters and looks at the numbers. He selects 12 and waves the access card over the sensor. The red sensor goes green and the doors close over. Jack blinks, gulps and waits as the elevator takes him down to confront his worst nightmare. SCENE 60. INT. SUB-LEVEL 12. DAY. The door swishes open and Jack looks out at the room. There is a hallway and Fortyone lies there unconscious. Terry and Wanderer are nowhere to be seen.

161.

Jack quickly feels Fortyone for a pulse, finding him alive, Jack smiles briefly before moving to the next room where Jack can hear Terry speaking. Jack peers in to the next room and sees Wanderer sitting in a lotus position in front of a computer server. Terence is standing off to his side and is looking sweaty and nervous. The Nexus mainframe is a futuristic-looking server about the size of a small-desk and is free-standing in the room. Jack steps in and Terry turns, wide-eyed looking at Jack. TERENCE Wanderer is trying to tune into the vibration rate of the field surrounding the Nexus mainframe. He thinks it wont be long... Jack nods. JACK Can I talk to you for a sec, out here? Terry turns away. TERENCE Whats there to say. Terence kneels down and rests a hand on Wanderers back but the shield around Wanderer is still there, Terrys hand doesnt touch. Wanderer is oblivious as he meditates on the frequency. Eyes closed, Wanderer places a hand forwards and tries to get into the field surrounding the nexus. He can get halfway in but the strain is huge. His hand shakes and he is pushed out. Wanderer refocuses his meditation and goes deeper into trance. JACK Its important Terry, please? Its about the girls. I need to update you on the situation. Terry looks back up but doesnt come. TERENCE I got it. The situation is under control. Debbie will be alright. Debbie will finally be ok again.

162.

Jack looks on as Wanderer tries again to touch the server. This time he is within millimeters of the unit before being pushed back. Terry places his hand on Wanderer and this time, his hand sinks down and touches Wanderer. Terence winces at the thought of what is going to happen. Wanderers eyes open. He smiles up at Terry and Jack. WANDERER The field is strong. With the mains power underneath I cant get close enough to do any good. I may not be able to do this after all. TERENCE You gotta try Wanderer, please? Wanderer nods, he closes his eyes and meditates. JACK Terry, you have to know something! Terry hisses at Jack, standing up and confronting him. He whispers earnestly. Terence takes his gun out and lets it hang down by his side, ready. TERENCE No you have to know something Jack! I die every day knowing that she is in that bed! And to know she can be free and well again is all I ever hoped for. Thats my WIFE God-damn-it! Terry turns back and watches Wanderer. Wanderer tries to touch the server and this time he connects. He places two fingers on the unit and the server blinks. Wanderer struggles and refocuses. Terry looks down at his gun and slowly lifts it up. Jack raises his gun at Terry and sidesteps so that Terry can see clearly of Jacks intention. JACK Please dont make me do this. Terry is shaking and crying as he looks from Wanderer to Jack. Terry considers the implications of everything he is doing versus what he knows is right. Reluctantly, Terry lowers the gun, crying. Wanderers hand is again forced back. He looks up and sees Jack aiming his gun at Terence.

163.

WANDERER Is everything alright? I - I cant seem to stay on the server for long enough to break through. Jack looks at Wanderer and Terry. JACK Wanderer, I have some very bad news to share. Prime has just killed Terrys wife in the hospital. I saw it. He also has taken Alice hostage and right now she is bleeding from a gun-shot wound to the leg. He says he will kill her if one of us doesnt kill you. Terry collapses to his knees and howls. TERENCE Oh no! No, no no no no no! Wanderer looks down and is quite saddened. WANDERER I had a sense this was all going to go horribly wrong but I hoped for the best. May I ask, Jack, what happens now? Jack looks from Wanderer to Terry. JACK God! Forgive me Alice...Im taking this machine away! SCENE 61. INT. WHITE HOUSE. DAY. Prime paces back and forwards. A blinding flash makes Prime stop and stare, aiming his gun at whoever just jumped. Terence appears and rushes over to Prime. TERENCE Well? Terence is bleeding from a cut to the head. He coughs and wheezes, clinging to Primes arm. TERENCE Its Jack, he, he took Wanderer and the mainframe. The Nexus unit, he, he took them both. Oh God, Debbie, please dont hurt her. It Wasnt my fault. He just hit me and took them both!

164.

Prime grimaces, smacking Terry across the head. PRIME Where, where did he take them? Terry coughs again, wiping the blood from his eyes. TERENCE He, knocked me out. I heard him talking to Wanderer. He said he knew a world, that had dinosaurs in it. He said there was volcanos too. He said that if Wanderer really couldnt deactivate the module then he and Wanderer would carry it to the volcano and throw it in! Prime considers this information. PRIME Without mains power, the internal back-up generator wont tolerate Wanderers efforts for long before it fails. You sure about this? Terence nods. TERENCE Yeah, remember when Jack jumped to that dinosaur world, its logged into our pdas. Prime glowers. He selects the pda video screen and dials into the dinosaur world. PRIME Jack... JACK! Prime looks at the video file. Jacks pda is on the ground, fallen sideways and Prime can see Jack and Wanderer carrying the Nexus Mainframe away. PRIME Frack! Prime grits his teeth as he flicks his pda over to transport mode and presses the engage button. Terence is watching and does the same. SCENE 62. EXT. FIELD. DAY. Prime appears a split second before Terence. Prime grimaces as he feels the cold press of a pulse rifle to his temple.

TERENCE My rule number one! Be the sharpest asshole on the block, not just a plain asshole! Jack and Wanderer are walking back to them. The Nexus mainframe is sitting out on the field. Terence takes the pda from Prime and removes his wrist pads. JACK Hey, so good of you to make it! Well, the good news is, Wanderer, Terry and I have decided to not bust the nexus computer. In fact, we think you should be God and rule over your kingdom with it, right here! Prime glares at Jack. SCENE 63. INT. HOTEL ROOM 222. DAY. Deborah looks out the window, the street seems quiet. ALICE Please, I need to get to a hospital. Deborah shrugs. DEBORAH When its over, if your Jack does what hes told - you just might get to see that hospital! ALICE How long... Please? Deborah is annoyed at the talking. She swipes her cci and dials Prime. DEBORAH Shut up!... Babe, can I just shoot her, shes really starting to annoy me?... Babe?... JACK? No reply. Anger consumes her. She lifts the gun at Alice. Agent Grayson steps into the room, pistol aimed at Deborah. GRAYSON CIA! Drop your weapon!

Deborah turns and aims direct at Agent Grayson. Agent Grayson doesnt flinch and shoots Deborah, right between the eyes. Deborah falls to the ground, dead. GRAYSON Its ok Alice, we got ya. Youre safe now. Agent Hill, we need an ambulance, now! Agent Hill dials on her phone as Agent Grayson tends to Alices leg. SCENE 64. EXT. FIELD. DAY. PRIME You have no idea of what you are doing Jack! Think about it, think about what youre giving up! We can rule worlds, you and I! Three pterodactyls circle overhead, evaluating the safety of an easy meal and they land between Prime and the Nexus server. Jack grins and throws Prime his earth-handgun. JACK Dont worry. We wont leave you defenseless. Here a weapon that is eons ahead of the this earths inhabitants. I suggest you use it wisely though. Prime grimaces and fires the gun repeatedly at Jack, Wanderer and Terence. Wanderer has his protection covering the trio and the bullets are blocked, they fall to the ground. TERENCE Come on, lets go this way, jump back to hopefully somewhere on 17th street. They all walk away. Terence and Jack exchange brief looks as they engage their pdas. One of the pterodactyls pecks at the nexus server while the other two come over to investigate Prime. The two birds seem to fight over who gets dinner. Prime grimaces. The last thing Jack, Terry and Wanderer see is Prime try to shoot himself in the head. Click, click, click. The gun is now empty...

SCENE 65. EXT. STREET. DAY. The trio appear in the verge of the white house grounds, just on the street. TERENCE Im sorry Jack. But we had to do it. You know that right? Jack nods, looking pensive. JACK Well, lets find out if we have one funeral to organize or two. TERENCE One sec. We need to delete that world out of our pda log. We dont want anyone trying to recover that server, ever. Terry keys into his pda. GRAYSON (O.S.) Jack, Terry, you guys ok? Jack nods. JACK Yeah, yeah we did it. GRAYSON (O.S.) Thats great Jack. Im sorry to have to tell you this... but Alice has been shot in the leg. We got an ambulance here though and she is ok. She will be fine. Jack is immensely relieved. TERENCE And Debbie, hows she? GRAYSON (O.S.) Im sorry Agent Jones. But that woman was an imposter. She had a chip in her hand and is the one that shot Alice. It appears she was involved with the Prime Jack and they had it planned all along. Im sorry, but she was shot and killed while recovering Alice. Terry bites his lip, he bats tears away from his eyes.

168.

TERENCE Well, I guess I never had her to begin with. So, so she never was my Debbie anyhow. Jack sighs. JACK Im so sorry Terry. TERENCE Where are you now Agent Grayson? GRAYSON (O.S.) Just down the road from you the White House by G Street. Look for the ambulance on the road. The trio walk towards G Street and spot the ambulance. JACK We see you, were coming over. SCENE 66. EXT. STREET. DAY. The trio rush over to the ambulance. Alice is being wheeled over to the ambulance on a bed. Jack rushes in and hugs her. JACK Im so sorry you got hurt because of me. Alice has been given pain relief and is a bit dopey. ALICE Thats ok... I cant really feel it anymore. Those needles that gave me are amazing! Hee hee. Alice sits up on the bed. The paramedic doesnt want her too but Agent Grayson moves him away for the moment. JACK So I guess, you will be heading back to your world, with Agent Jones. Alice sighs and shrugs. ALICE You know you never really told me how we first met in your world. Jack smiles.

169.

JACK We were at a bar, you were drinking with some friends and dancing. Alice grins, she holds her hand up as if she has an imaginary drink in it and tries to sit-dance. JACK What are you doing? JACK Im dancing, and drinking... In a bar silly! Jack looks sideways at her. JACK You - call that dancing? ALICE Hey, unknown person, I got shot so leave me to dance here in the bar on my own, waiting for someone to come and introduce himself to me. Jack nods, smiling JACK Oh. ok! So, miss, hi there my name is Jack. Jack extends his hand to shake Alices. ALICE Pleased to meet you Jack, Im Alice. Jack grins as he watches Alice wiggle on the gurney. JACK Yes, yes you are. Alice smirks. ALICE So fast forward to the end of our date, did you kiss me? Jacks wistfully nods. JACK Yes, I did. Alice bats her eyelids.

170.

ALICE Well I hope you kiss better than you dance, cause your dancing so far leaves a lot to be desired. Go on then hot-shot, plant one on me. Alice puckers up and closes her eyes. Jack chuckles and leans in for their first kiss, he is so very happy that all has ended well. GRAYSON Ahem, scuse me you two, but theres lots of loose ends to tie up. Jack pulls away from the kiss. JACK Not my concern, I already freed sixteen worlds today which I think exceeds my quota. You guys can tend to the minor details, I got a woman to kiss. He locks lips with a grinning Alice as the paramedic tries to get her into the ambulance. FADE TO BLACK. EPILOGUE SCENE 67. EXT. CEMETARY. DAY. Its a lovely sunny day and Terence stands in his black suit, Jack is at his side and next to Jack is Alice. A few select family members and friends are there as the priest recites the last rites. The gravestone is in place and denotes Deborah, her family and husband etc. PRIEST Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We commend the body of Deborah Jones to the earth and pray for her family and friends, also giving thanks that her years of suffering in a hospital bed are now over. Thank you lord for your grace and mercy. Amen. A blinding flash of light bursts into the cemetary, not far from the funeral. Terence doesnt notice from his line of sight. Jack smiles wanly.

171.

JACK You know, when you first met the Deborah in my world, you remember how I said that was shitty timing? Terence nods, staring morosely at the coffin. TERENCE Yeah, yeah I remember. JACK Well this is another one of those shitty timing moments, but we had no choice. Terence looks at Jack, not following. TERENCE Huh? Jack nods over to where Agents Grayson and Hill are walking with Deborah towards the funeral. They are all dressed in black, befitting the occasion. JACK The Deborah from my world got locked up in FBI holding by the bad Deborah and the bad Agent Edwards. When Deborah got released and saw the cctv footage at the vet clinic, well, she asked to meet you. CIA have taken over the pdas and said we only had today to make this work, hence the shitty timing. Terence nods and smiles wanly as Deborah steps over and pauses, hands in front of her clutching her purse as she trembles, looking at Terence. DEBORAH Hi Terry. Um... wow. I, I had to come and speak to you, I just had to see you. Terry gulps. He nods and smiles. TERENCE Im so glad that you did. Deborah looks down, sees the coffin and grave. DEBORAH Do you have any idea how creepy it is to be standing over your own grave?

172.

ALICE Oh, me, I do! Everyone chuckles though the feeling is sombre considering the occasion. Agent Grayson leans in to Jack and Alice. GRAYSON You guys figure out what youre doing yet? Jack and Alice smile to each other. JACK Well, I just couldnt abandon my kids. And Alice is thinking about taking up teaching or even photography, right? Alice nods. ALICE Yeah, but driving those rolling cars scares the heebies out of me. You might need to be my chauffeur for a while hot shot. Jack smiles. JACK Deal. They look over to Terence and Deborah who have wandered off and are talking quietly. Terence pauses and looks at Deborah. They hold hands and walk on as the sun breaks between them. FADE TO BLACK.
