1.- Read this dialogue and then prepare it in pairs to play it in front of your classmates. INTERVIEWER.- Hello, good afternoon. You are . APPLICANT: Im Mrs Larson. I.- Thats right. Nice to meet you, Mrs Larson. This is Allan Fleet A.- Nice to meet you too, Mr Fleet. I.- Please , take a seat A.- Thank you. I.- So, youre interested in working as a nurse in our hospital. A.- Well, Im very excited about the position. I.- I can see from your rsum that you have lots of working experience. A.- You are right. I started when I was 21 years old and now Im 44. So, Im an experienced nurse. I.- Thats great. Let me you ask some questions. A.- Sure , go ahead. I.- Do you like being a nurse? A.- Of course, I love it. I think my job is interesting, exciting and I enjoy it very much/ a lot. I.- I cant agree more. Mrs Larson. Ive got another question for you: What are the main qualities a good nurse must have? A.-Well, first of all, a good nurse loves her job, looks after patients and shows affection to them, because they need it. I.- I see, and in your opinion, what are the disadvantages of being a nurse? A.- Hmm, hospitals are never a place for fun; there are always health problems and a lot of people suffer and die . I .- What about the advantages? A.- The best is that its a very rewarding job, Im hardly ever bored , and its well-paid. 2.- Next, play the same dialogue , keeping the structure but replacing the previous information with the following one.
NEW JOB INTERVIEWS: 1.Interviewer: Mr Sandle Applicant: Bryan Lawbe Position offered: Postman. Rsum: working experience : 2 years. He started at the age of 26 and he is 28 now. He loves his job: its easy and not stressful. Main qualities: responsible, healthy, and hard-working. Disadvantages: Its often boring . In winter its very cold and in summer its very hot. Interviewer: Ms White Applicant: Larry Bolton Position: Salesman Rsum: working experience: Larry hasnt got any experience as a salesman. He wants to be a salesman because its exciting and its a challenge for him. He has a basic salary and the rest depends on his sales. ( Part of his salary is on commission). Disadvantages: His income is unpredictable because it depends on his sales. People are sometimes rude to salespeople and people dont usually trust them. Advantages: its never boring. Salespeople can earn/make a lot of money if they are good at communicating with people. 3.Interviewer: Patrick Melly Applicant: Alice Mertbound Position offered: flight-attendant in a new airline : Horizons. Rsum: 6 years. Before she worked for another airline from 1998 to 2006. She loves her job. She finds her job very interesting, enriching. Shes a very friendly person and likes talking to people. Main qualities: competent at her job, a full-time worker, she must make sure passengers feel comfortable, safe and well served. Disadvantages: they are away from home for a long time. This is hard for mothers. Some passengers are sometimes rude and demanding. Besides, they often land in dangerous countries where civil security and life are often in danger. Advantages: Flight-attendants can fly for free. They are well-paid and they travel a lot and they sometimes have some free time to visit different cities.
