RabbitMatch

is a small group of volunteers

whose passion is finding loving,

indoor homes for abandoned

Los Angeles rabbits.

All of our wonderful rabbits

all spayed/neutered, litterbox

trained, looking for rabbit-

friendly indoor homes and also

enjoy human company.

RabbitMatch is
committed to
matching you with
just the right bun!

Like other animals
of prey everything unfa-
miliar holds potential danger

for rabbits. It is important to

minimize your rabbit’s stress

by cultivating the mindset of

a prey animal. Simply spend

some time on floor at their eye

level and visualize the world

from your rabbit’s perspective.

S E R A N A DE

“Handle every stressful situation like a bunny, pee on it and hop away!”
~Rabbit Match
Rabbits love other
rabbits, but need help
with introductions. Sometimes
friendship is instantaneous but
usually weeks or even months
of bonding exercises are
needed. Unsupervised play-
dates can result in serious,
even life-threatening fights.
Other Pets: House rabbits
and indoor cats can get along
fine, as do rabbits and well-
mannered dogs. Dogs should
be supervised and trained to
respond to commands before
being trusted with a rabbit.

“Not only is another world possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
~Arundhati Roy
Sometimes people
abandon rabbits

in the wild
thinking they will revert
to a wild rabbit’s lifestyle.
This cannot happen. Domestic
rabbits have been bred to be
less agile than wild cousins
and trusting of humans, their
cats and dogs. A domestic
rabbit’s coloration also
puts them at a serious
disadvantage.

FUMOTO

“Those dogs might be able to get a fox’s tail, but they’ll never get a rabbit’s tail!”
~Foxy By Proxy
Rabbits
are the third most often impounded
animal at shelters but lead the list
in being abandoned and euthanized.
Please do not participate in the
thoughtless tradition of giving live
bunnies as gifts or purchasing them
as Easter toys. There are so many
other bunderful choices!

BERNOULLI
“For every rabbit bought from a breeder or pet store, one in a shelter dies. Give a bun the gift of life.
Make adoption your option.” ~Rabbit Match
It is difficult to properly sex

young rabbits. Have the

baby rabbit
sexed by a knowledgeable

veterinarian around the age

of 10 weeks and keep boys

and girls separated until

spayed/neutered between

4 and 6 months of age.

FLAURENT

“Curious about house rabbits? Talk to us!”

~Rabbit Match
A rabbit’s home base
must be roomy enough for a litter-
box away from eating and sleeping
areas. Spaying or neutering your
rabbit improves litterbox habits,
lessens chewing behavior, decreases
territorial aggression, and reduces
the risk of cancer. Rabbits adopted
through reputable shelters and
rescue organizations such as
RabbitMatch.org are already
spayed/neutered.

HELVETIA

“Life in Bunnyland is good!”

~Anonymous
Rabbits need
daily exercise,,
unlimited hay, and brushing when
necessary to maintain excellent
health. Rabbits groom themselves
and they get furballs just as cats
do but unlike cats, rabbits can-
not vomit. They don’t often show
symptoms of illnesses until they
have already been sick for some
time. Contact your veterinarian
immediately if you notice a change
in appetite, behavior, droppings,
breathing, a runny nose or tilted
head.

KANDINSKY
“Hey, wait a minute. Wait a minute! Look, the people out there in the audience - the lady there with the long ears. They’re getting longer all the time.
And the guy back there in the seventeenth row with the cute tomato - he’s gettin’ all fuzzy. Yeah, they’ve got it. Everybody out there’s got rabbititus!”
~Looney Tunes
A rabbit’s body
has powerful muscles and relatively
delicate bones. Being picked up by
the middle or dropped can result
in fatal bone fractures. That is one
reason rabbit rescues are very
careful when adopting to families
with small children.

DONZETTI

“You can lead a bun to water but you can’t make him grateful.”
~Bunfucius
A rabbit’s diet
must be made up of good
quality pellets, fresh hay,
water and fresh vegetables.
Anything beyond that is a treat
and should be given in limited
quantities. Hay is essential
to a rabbit’s good health,
and should be available
24 hours a day.

FLUFFSTON
“September 25th is International House Rabbit Day!! Please give your kiddos a nommie gift
and at the same time help homeless rabbits get the medical care they need!” ~Rabbit Match
Rabbits are easily
litterbox trained
and deserve cage free indoor housing.
Housing rabbits in a cage or hutch
means limited space and wire floor-
ing that leads to obesity, painful foot
conditions, weak muscles and osteo-
porosis. Humans must be emotionlly
involved with their rabbits if the rab-
bits are to have a good quality of life.

AYASHE

“Here I go with the timid little woodland creature bit again. It’s shameful, but...ehhh, it’s a living.”
~Bugs Bunny
House training:
Though rabbits may have free
run of the home, it’s best to start
with an enclosure large enough
to hop around in with a litterbox
in the corner. Bunnyproofing:
It’s natural for many rabbits to
nibble on furniture, rugs, drapes,
with most deadly of all, electrical
cords. Safe distractions from the
furniture include cardboard and
magazines. Cords can be covered
with plastic vinyl tubing found at
hardware stores.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE

“If you can’t hop the hop you can’t do diddly.”

~Bunfucius
A binky
is a mid-air acrobatic feat.

It is a testimonial to your

rabbit’s love of freedom and

life. It is a joyous dance and

a delight to watch.

BRILLIANTA

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single 360* back flip circular breakout!”
~Bunfucius
