Developing Leadership with a Human Face

The Social Responsibility Cell at XIMB is committed towards the goal of promoting the well-being and facilitating the process
of uplifting the vulnerable population. It is not simply a charitable organization or social service club which provides
financial and material aid but aims at starting a movement for social change through empowerment and integration of
these individuals with the help of education, vocational training and increasing awareness amongst masses.

What we do
Social responsibility cell, XIMB, believes that if we all unite, we can make a small but considerable difference in the lives
of people at the bottom of the pyramid. We believe that everyone is a citizen in his own right, entitled to the full spectrum
of human rights. At SRC, we bring in volunteers who constantly dedicate themselves to bringing a smile on the faces of
the deprived. SRC acts as a motivator for young students to come together from all walks of life and join together to work
for the cause of the society.

Vision
We at SRC vow to be the harbinger of light in the lives of those who have been deprived of it. We pledge to spread
happiness and encourage development of individuals and groups through promotion of basic human rights and equality

Mission
Promote social well-being of vulnerable population through constant endeavors and act as the facilitators of the same.

Exchange Programs
National boundaries have blurred and so have the barriers among markets, organizations and cultures. India has made
its presence felt globally and hence, there is an ever-growing demand for global managers. XIMB is cognizant of the
importance of collaboration with International Business Schools to keep pace with the rapid foray happening into global
market. The institute focuses on giving its students an exposure to diverse cultures, and nurtures them to have an
international outlook. XIMBians get an opportunity to learn in a multi-dimensional environment characterized by strong
work ethics and interpersonal relationships. This helps create managers who can recognize, respect and embrace
diversity.
In the past few years, students from XIMB have also participated in a number of international symposia and competitions
including the Rubicon Contest (Germany), the Harvard College Asian Business Forum (Mumbai), and the U8 Summit
(U.K.). The institute realizes the importance of such an international exposure and is therefore committed to expand the
scope of its current international associations.

Xuberance 2015
Pre Placement Talks (PPTs)
PPTs provide a platform to facilitate interaction between students and
companies, so that both are able to find the best match according to their
aspirations and requirements. For effective communication, the latest
technical equipment such as audio visual facilities, LCD projector, overhead
projector (OHP), TV/ VCR and other special equipments can be made
available on campus on request. The campus also has video conferencing
facility. The dates for the PPTs can be obtained from the Placement Office.
We value any company taking some time out to getting to know our students
better, and giving an opportunity for our students to do the same.

Curriculum Vitae
The Institute follows a standard format for all the students applying to
various companies. A company can request the CVs in the Institutes format
or any other specific format, in hard or softcopies as desired.

Lateral and Fresher Recruitment

The institute does not have separate lateral and fresher recruitment
processes. Hence, both the processes commence simultaneously and
run during the placement week of the institute. The students rank the
companies based on their prior knowledge and the information gained
through companys PPTs. Based on the rankings, the job description and
the compensation being offered the participating companies are allocated
the time slots during which they can initiate the recruitment process.

Pre Placement Offers (PPOs)

A pre-placement offer or PPO, post the summer internship, is a much
cherished job offer before final placements. An exposure of 8 weeks gives
both the organization and the student an opportunity to gauge each others
compatibility. The firms can communicate to the Institute their decision to
offer the PPOs before the Placement Week commences. In the event that
the company does not have any internal rules governing this process, the
students decision however, will be communicated to the company either
after the Placement Week is over or at its assigned time slot during the
Placement Week.

Job Offers
A Job Offer is considered to be valid
only if the Placement Office is in
receipt of the written communication
of the same. Any form of verbal
or telephonic communication will
not be considered as job offers.
The final offers for the respective
candidate will be announced only at
the designated day/time slots. Delay
or failing to do so may result in the
candidate being placed in any other
company. Appointment letters for
the selected candidate should be
sent (in duplicate) to the Placement
Office within 20 days of the job offer
made on the campus. Candidate
acknowledges the job offer by the
acceptance signature, which shall be
informed to the concerned company
immediately.

Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (The Gods World) is the capital city of the state of Odisha
and is fondly referred as the City of Temples. The city has a rich history
of over 3,000 years starting with the Chedi dynasty (around 2nd century
BCE) and is a centre of economic and religious importance in Eastern India.
The modern city of Bhubaneswar was designed by German architect Otto
Knigsberger and is one of the most planned and cleanliest cities of India. The
new Bhubaneswar with its modern buildings and extensive infrastructure
perfectly complements its historic surroundings. The city presents itself as
a shining example where the conventional and unconventional peacefully
co-exist and that is what characterises the new Bhubaneswar. The city is
one of the fastest developing cities in India and also has played its part in
the development of Odisha, which is realizing the potential of its abundant
natural resources and skilled labour. It is emerging as an IT hub with
organizations like Infosys, TCS, and Mahindra Satyam have set up offices
here. One of the major education hubs of Eastern India, the fine blend of
the old-school and the contemporary with its vibrant economy provides
the perfect setting for XIMB.
