ENTRANCE OF COLORS/PHIL. NATIONAL ANTHEM
MC: You may now be seated. Again, welcome to the 33 rd
Commencement Exercises of San Antonio de Padua College.
Many of us consider graduation as a beautiful thing. It is the
culmination of long years of study and a rite of passage into
the real world for many of the youth of the land. I know that
to the students, it almost sounds like magic. It not only
means receiving the diploma, the veritable symbol of hardearned triumph, but also the thrill of the graduation march,
the donning of that long-cherished cap and gown. Today
marks the start of your future. For many parents, watching
their child, now a young man or woman, go up the stage in
their togas to receive a piece of paper is the reward for long
years of toil and sacrifice. And to give us the welcome
address,
may
request
the
presence
of
proficiency awardee, Mike Thomas V. Tandang.
WELCOME ADDRESS
this
years
MC: Thank you Mr. Tandang. We are all here today to mark,
to
affirm
and
to
celebrate
your
past
and
present
achievements. Your degree is an embodiment of these
achievements. We are also here today to promote your
readiness and preparedness to proceed into the world
outside of San Antonio de Padua College. You have dreams to
follow not dreams to dream of. You should not give up by the
sufferings you are facing through life because without those
you wouldn't be having a fun life. The fruits of your labor are
mirrors that will reflect the expected success of your life in
the real world and in the days to come. At this juncture, I
would like to call Prof. Ma. Mimie M. Castillo, the Dean of
the College Department for the Presentation of Candidates
for Graduation to be followed by the conferment of degrees
to be done by our College President, Dr. Armando B.
Figueroa.
PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATES/CONFERMENT OF
DEGREES
MC: At this point in time may I request the graduates of the
baccalaureate degrees to come up the stage for the
imposition of the academic hood.
IMPOSITION OF THE HOOD
MC: Congratulations once again for your well deserved
honor. You are about to embark on a journey of opportunity.
The degrees you have finished are keys to open the different
doors to your journey. However, it is only a key. It is up to
you to unlock the door and step through the doorway. The
lessons, which you were privileged to learn from our school
have shaped and guided your development as students of
San Antonio de Padua College. Now your graduation and
your transition from undergraduates to alumni signal a
departure from the nurturing environment of college into a
brave, new world of opportunity and uncertainty. You are
now repositories of the principles and ideals of this
institution of learning. The vantage position that you now
enjoy should be utilized in discovering for yourselves the
various practical problems in life and the pressing needs of
your community. At this point in time, may I request the
presence of Prof. Rosalinda P. Garcia who will introduce to
us our Commencement Speaker in this special occasion.
