Abstract
Whilewesternmanagementpracticessuchasthoserelatedtoteamwork,counselling,performance
feedback,negotiation,communication,leadership,andassertivebehavioursmayhavebeen
enthusiasticallydiscussedandtriedoutinthecorporatetrainingroomsoforganisationsinAsia
(specificallyinMalaysia),theymaynotbeeffectivelytransferredintermsofapplicationsbackatthe
workplace.Localandforeignhumanresourcedevelopment(HRD)professionalingeneralmaynot
havebeencriticalenoughinexaminingthebasicvaluesunderlyingthesepracticeswhichhave
