SELECTION OF EXECUTIVE TRAINEES (CIVIL/ELECTRICAL/ SIGNAL & TELECOM/ARCHITECT) FOR
DELHI AND OTHER METRO.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a Joint Venture company with equity participation from
Govt. of India and Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi has been entrusted with the
responsibility of implementation of the rail based Mass Rapid transit System for Delhi.
Applications are invited from dynamic and result oriented Engineers (Civil, Electrical, and
Electronics), having a minimum of 70% marks in B.Tech/B.E examination (in respective disciplines)
and Architects having a minimum of 60% marks in B.Arch, from AICTE recognized
Institutes/Universities, for selection of 18 Executive Trainees for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, 04 for
Chennai Metro Rail Ltd and 03 for Kolkata Metro Rail corporation Ltd. as Executive Trainee. The
number of slots is provisional & may undergo slight change.

Age:
Not less than 21 years and not more than 28 years as on 01/01/10 (i.e. not born earlier than
02.01.1982 and later than 31/12/1988), with 03 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years relaxation for
SC/ST, for reserved posts.
Educational Qualification:
A minimum of 70% marks in B.Tech/B.E examination (Civil, Electrical, and Electronics) and a
minimum of 60% marks in B.Arch, from AICTE recognized Institutes/Universities.
Appearing candidates:
Candidates, who are appearing at the qualifying exam (B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch), passing of which
would render them educationally qualified for this examination but have not been informed of the
results, will also be eligible for admission to this examination. Such candidates will be admitted to the
examination, if otherwise eligible, but their admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject
to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite qualifying examination on
the date of Interview/Group Discussion. The result should have been declared for public through
newspaper/website etc & should be in public domain.
Training:
Selected candidates will be sent for one year ‘Post Graduate Diploma Course’ in “Metro
Technology and Management” at IIT/Delhi as Executive Trainee. During the duration of above course,
the trainees will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.25000/- p.m. Accommodation facility for self
only will be arranged by DMRC during the period of the course at IIT/Delhi.
Induction:
On successful completion of the course, the trainees will be inducted as Assistant Manager in
DMRC in IDA pay scale of Rs.20600-46500/-. Those candidates who are selected for Chennai Metro
Rail Ltd or Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. as Executive Trainee will be absorbed as Assistant
Manager in the pay scales (CDA/IDA) being followed by the concerned Metro. Trainees, who excel
during the course and secure 70% or more marks, will be granted two advance increments in Assistant
Manager’s grade upon joining, while those who secure less than 70% marks will be granted only one
advance increment at the time of induction. Such of Trainees who do not complete the course or do not
secure the minimum pass marks in the PG Diploma course at IIT/Delhi will not be inducted in
DMRC/concerned Metro. They will have to pay a bond amount of Rs. 5 Lakh to DMRC/concerned
Metro towards training cost. Those Trainees who successfully complete the course but do not join
DMRC/concerned Metro within ten days, their candidature will lapse and they will also have to pay an
amount of Rs. 5 Lakh to DMRC/respective Metro as bond amount.
Seniority:
The inter-se seniority of the Executive Trainees in the concerned discipline at Assistant
Manager level in their respective metro will depend on the overall performance at the Post Graduate
Diploma Course at IIT/Delhi. Further, their seniority, in the discipline concerned, upon absorption, will
count retrospectively from the date of start of the course at IIT/Delhi.
Probation:
After induction as Assistant Manager, they will be on probation for a period of two years. After
successful completion of probation, they will be confirmed as per the policy of the respective Metro.
Bond & Notice Period time:
Before joining the course, they will have to execute a bond of Rs. 5 Lakh to serve DMRC/
respective Metro for a period of five years (This is inclusive of the PG Diploma course period of about
one year). They will also have to give a notice of three months (working) if they want to leave
DMRC/respective Metro at any point of time during the bond period.

No extension for joining will be permitted to the selected Executive Trainee, as the course is to
commence on 19/07/10 sharp and IIT Delhi rules do not permit any late joining of the course, except
for a couple of days due to very pressing reasons. The choice for DMRC or other Metro (Chennai or
Kolkata) shall be obtained from the candidates at the time of interview/Group Discussion.
Eligible and willing candidates, fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility criteria for Executive Trainee,
including those appearing at the final semester exam of BE/B.Tech in summer of 2010, may send their filled in
application form along with bank draft latest by 14/04/10 in the format enclosed at the below mentioned address.
However, the candidature of such candidates whose final result is not declared by the date of interview shall be
provisional. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
Fees: The candidates will have to enclose a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/- for General &
OBC candidates and for Rs.50/- for SC candidates (for processing cost only) along with application form drawn
in favour of DELHI METRO RAIL CORPORATION LIMITED, payable at New Delhi indicating on the
reverse of the DD, their name & address, telephone no., if any. Demand Drafts payable at locations other than
Delhi / New Delhi will not be accepted. MO/PO or any other mode of payment is not acceptable. Candidates
are advised to check the details of Demand Draft carefully before enclosing it with the application Form.
Candidates should retain a photocopy of their demand draft and application form for future reference. They
should also keep sufficient numbers of copies of the same Photograph (Coloured) in reserve for future use,
which they are pasting in the application form. The photograph (Coloured) should not be more than six months
old. Incomplete applications or applications received without demand draft or received after the due date will be
summarily rejected. DMRC will not be responsible for any postal delay/ loss in transit. No request in this regard
will be entertained.

Note: (1) All the posts to be filled after completion of PG Diploma course. Therefore no
reservation for physically handicapped candidates is applicable. The medical
standard for these posts is of ‘Executive/Technical’ level, details of which can be
seen on our website.
(2) The written examination shall be held in Delhi only.
(3) The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all
eligibility conditions for admission to examination. Their admission at all the stages
of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed
eligibility conditions.
Mere issue of admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that
his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Corporation.
Corporation will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference
to original documents at the time of Interview/Group Discussion.
The duly filled in application form should be sent in an envelope superscribing on the cover prominently - Name
