Edukasyon
is
the executive department of the Philippine government which is primarily
charged with the management and upkeep of the Philippine educational
system. One of three government bodies overseeing and supervising education
in the Philippines, the DepEd is the chief formulator of Philippine educational
policy and is responsible for the Philippine primary and secondary school
system, while CHED is responsible for tertiary and graduate education
and TESDA is responsible for technical-vocational and middle level education.
Its functions is to provide quality basic education that is equitably accessible to
all and lay the foundation for life-long learning and service for the common
good.
Department of Energy (DOE) Kagawaran ng Enerhiya is the executive
department of thePhilippine Government responsible for preparing, integrating,
coordinating, supervising and controlling all plans, programs, projects and
activities of the Government relative to energy exploration, development,
utilization, distribution and conservation.
The Department is mandated by RA 7638 (Department of Energy Act of
1992) to prepare, integrate, coordinate, supervise and control all plans,
programs, projects and activities of the Government relative to energy
exploration, development, utilization, distribution and conservation.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Kagawaran ng Ugnayang Panlabas is
the executive department of the Philippine government tasked to contribute to
the enhancement of national security and the protection of the territorial
integrity and national sovereignty, to participate in the national endeavor of
sustaining development and enhancing the Philippines' competitive edge, to
protect the rights and promote the welfare of Filipinos overseas and to mobilize
them as partners in national development, to project a positive image of the
Philippines, and to increase international understanding of Philippine culture
for mutually-beneficial relations with other countries.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is the prime agency responsible for the
pursuit of the States foreign policy. The DFA advises and assists the President
in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the total national effort in the field of
foreign relations.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is responsible for the coordination and
execution of the foreign policies of the Republic of the Philippines and the
conduct of its foreign relations and performs such other functions as may be
assigned to it by law or by the President relating to the conduct of foreign
relations.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Kagawaran ng Katarungan is the judicial
department of thePhilippine government responsible for upholding the rule of
law in the Philippines. It is the government's principal law agency, serving as
its legal counsel and prosecution arm. The mandate of the DOJ is to uphold
the rule of law. Its mission is to establish and maintain a just and orderly
society through an effective, speedy and compassionate administration of
justice.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Kagawaran ng Paggawa at
Empleyo is the executive department of the Philippine Government mandated
to formulate policies, implement programs and services, and serve as the
policy-coordinating arm of the Executive Branch in the field of labor and
employment. It is tasked with the enforcement of the provisions of the Labor
Code
General Functions
Enforce social and labor legislation to protect the working class and
regulate the relations between the worker and his employers;
Formulate and recommend policies, plans and programs for manpower
development, training, allocation, and utilization;
Recommend legislation to enhance the material, social and intellectual
improvement of the nation's labor force;
Protect and promote the interest of every citizen desiring to work locally
or overseas by securing for him the most equitable terms and conditions
of employment, and by providing social and welfare services;
Regulate the employment of aliens, including the enforcement of a
registration or work permit system for such aliens, as provided for by law;
Formulate general guidelines concerning wage income policy;
Recommend necessary adjustments in wage structures with the view to
developing a wage system that is consistent with national economic and
social development plans;
Provide for safe, decent, humane and improved working conditions and
environment for all workers, particularly women and young workers;
Maintain a harmonious, equitable and stable labor relations system that
is supportive of the national economic policies and programs;
Uphold the right of workers and employers to organize and promote free
collective bargaining as the foundation of the labor relations system;
Provide and ensure the fair and expeditious settlement and disposition of
labor and industrial disputes through collective bargaining, grievance
machinery, conciliation, mediation, voluntary arbitration, compulsory
arbitration as may be provided by law, and other modes that may be
voluntarily agreed upon by the parties concerned; and
Perform such other functions as may be provided by law
Department of National Defense (DND) Kgawaran ng Tanggulang
Pambans
is
the executive
department of
the Philippine
government responsible for guarding against external and internal threats to
peace and security in the country. The Department of National Defense
exercises executive supervision over the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),
the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO),
the National
Defense
Government (GA).

Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Kagawaran ng Agham at
Teknolohiya
is
the executive
department of
the
Philippine
Government
responsible for the coordination of science and technology-related projects in
the Philippines and to formulate policies and projects in the fields of science
and technology in support of national development.
Functions
Formulate and adopt a comprehensive National Science and Technology
Plan, and monitor and coordinate its funding and implementation;
Promote, assist and, where appropriate, undertake scientific and
technological research and development in areas identified as vital to the
country's development;
Promote the development of indigenous technology and the adaptation
and innovation of suitable imported technology, and in this regard,
undertake technology development up to commercial stage;
Undertake design and engineering works to complement research and
development functions;
Promote, assist and, where appropriate, undertake the transfer of the
results of scientific and technological research and development to their
end-users;
Promote, assist and, where appropriate, undertake the technological
services needed by agriculture, industry, transport, and the general
public;
Develop and maintain an information system and databank on science
and technology;
Develop and implement programs for strengthening scientific and
technological capabilities through manpower training, infrastructure and
institution-building;
Promote public consciousness in science and technology; and,
Undertake policy research, technology assessment, feasibility and
technical studies.
Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Kagawarn ng
Transportasyn at Komunikasyn is the executive department of the Philippine
government responsible for the maintenance and expansion of viable, efficient,
and dependable transportation and communications systems as effective
instruments for national recovery and economic progress.
The
department
is
responsible
for
the
country's
land,
air,
sea
and
communications infrastructure.
DOTC have the following objectives:
a. Promote the development of dependable and coordinated networks of
transportation and communications systems;
b. Guide government and private investments in the development of the
countrys inter- modal transportation and communications systems in a
most practical, expeditious and orderly fashion for maximum safety,
service and cost effectiveness;
c. Impose appropriate measures so that technical, economic and other
conditions for the continuing economic viability of the transportation and
communications entities are not just jeopardized and do not encourage
inefficiency and distortion of traffic patronage;
d. Develop an integrated plan for a nationwide transmission system in
accordance with national and international telecommunications service
requirements including, among others, radio and television broadcast
relaying, leased channel services and data transmission;
e. Guide government and private investments in the establishment,
operation and maintenance of an international switching system for
incoming and outgoing telecommunications services;
f. Encourage the development of a domestic telecommunications industry
in coordination with the concerned entities particularly the manufacture
of
communications/
electronics
equipment
and
components
to
complement and support; as much as possible, the expansion,
development,
operation
and
maintenance
of
the
nationwide
telecommunications network;
g. Provide for a sale, reliable and efficient postal system for the country.
President of the Philippines
The President of the Philippines is the head of state and head of government of
the Philippines. The President leads the executive branch of the Philippine
government and is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the
Philippines.
Filipinos refer to their President as Pangulo or Presidente and the President
serves for one, fixed, six-year term without possibility of re-election.
